Official bitching about Hudson abandoning VC support. [VC/WiiWare = lost cause]

Finally remembered: The last time this happened, the US got Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Super C and Breath of Fire II (And I think the PR didn't show up until like the next day).

Ooh. Precedent for the win!

Earthbound! Come to me! I want to play you again and my SNES' RF adaptor is broken!

This update better be good. It's 2AM where I live (although I'm up because it's spring break, which inevitably leads to a screwed up sleeping cycle).

EDIT: #19000 hurray! :D

Maybe the PR writer-guy called in sick today?

PR's are usually written Fridays.

Others have mentioned that this has happened before, but is still annoying.

The game (s) should be up now or soon, it's now 12PM.

My Wii reads 12:01 PM.

I check the Wii Buy Shit Channel.

I see nothing.

WAIT, I LIED. New shit.

Says Catalog Updated March 3.

THAT'S TODAY!!

And... 1 game.

Super Turrican.

Really surprised SSB isn't up. Can't imagine it will do much after Brawl is released.

Just Super Turrican?

...

Eh. I'll take it. I wanted to try it anyway.

I'll get you next time, Earthbound! Next time!

Heyhey, Super Turrican is awesome.

More awesome than SSB. Ooooh yeah.

Well, there's certainly no denying that the original Smash Bros. is almost painfully obsolete by this point.

I think I remember it being fun.

Well, it looks like a Mega Man game and I love Mega Man games more than you can possibly fathom.

From what I've heard, the music is pretty good, too.

Has there ever been a midweek release of a VC game ever? Possible Smash spectacular on Thursday?

I think the only non-Monday release day was launch day in the US, not sure though.

It's only about a year late.

How long have we been waiting on Vectorman? Not that Vectorman is really that special, but still.

Next week will probably suck pretty bad too since they want all attention on brawl.

I don't know. I'm starting to gain some hope that we might see Earthbound next week.

First, the Smash Bros. Dojo confirmed (on the Japanese site) that Earthbound is a Masterpiece in Brawl. For the uninitiated, that means that a short playable demo is in the game.

The other Masterpieces in Brawl that were revealed in that same Dojo update are already on the Virtual Console.

Assuming that Earthbound is also a Masterpiece in the North American version, then Earthbound is the only Masterpiece that we know of (aside from the Japanese-only Fire Emblem games) that's not on the VC.

Therefore, Earthbound next week.

BELIEVE.

Tis' a dark day for the North American Virtual Console forces.

Not the worst week the VC had. Much better than the week we only got Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire. Even better than the week we got Baseball and Urban Champion.

jmoe, not true. The Tuesday after the Wii was released we got the first TurboGrafx-16 games (Bonk's Adventure and Bomberman '93). We also got 2 games on November 28, 2006 (a Tuesday): Ecco the Dolphin and Golden Axe. Since then all the updates have been on a Monday though.

A bunch of the first Genesis and Turbographx games were released on days like Sunday and Tuesday.

But that's because the VC was just starting.

Is the PR up on the Shop Channel? They've added games later in the same day (DKC for example). If the PR is up though, it's pretty much finalized.

If this is the case, then there may still be hope for River City Ransom. Remember, the GameFAQs guy said that both Super Turrican and River City Ransom were coming this week.

Games you want but will never see on VC:

Dr. Mario
Earthbound
Goldeneye 007
Super Smash Bros.

The sooner you get over it and just buy the original cart, the better off you'll be.
