There's plenty of room here in football hell. I think you PSU Pussycats might have to take one of the shittier rooms though. :lol Seriously, I feel your pain. I really think JoePa has exceeded his sell by date. It's time for some new blood at Penn State. Gotta do it before the program becomes completely irrelevant. PSU used to be a contender...it wasn't that long ago. That's one of the program collapses that actually upset me. Unlike Notre Dame, I actually like Penn State in some wierd way. Hope they can turn it around soon. The team lost by two points, and there wasn't a single moment during the entire game where anybody thought "You know, Penn State can win this one"

The Florida Gators have fired third-year football coach Ron Zook and his staff, ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit reported Monday.
Ron Zook and the Gators fell to 4-3 on Saturday.
Athletic director Jeremy Foley will meet with members of the team this afternoon and then announce that Zook and his staff will coach the team for the remainder of the season, Herbstreit reported.
The firing comes on the heels of the Gators' 38-31 loss Saturday to Mississippi State, the worst team in the SEC.
The Gators are 4-3 this season, 20-13 overall under Zook.
His teams haven't had the swagger of those under his predecessor Steve Spurrier, who lost only six home games in 12 years and won a national championship.
When asked about his future Sunday, Zook focused on next Saturday.
"I just have to worry about this next game right now," Zook said. "That's all I have any control over."
Zook and the UF players were very close and pulling the rug out from under Zook so to speak, can't make the players all that happy, and may cause some to bolt early or look at trasfering.
Meanwhile, Spurrier, the coach who preceded Zook and led the Gators to a national championship in 1996 and six Southeastern Conference titles, spent Monday on the golf course at Heathrow Country Club in Seminole County. Spurrier already has been mentioned as a candidate to replace Zook.
"I'll cross that bridge if it comes to that," Spurrier told the Orlando Sentinel. "One thing I've tried to do all this year is not be lingering around acting like I'm waiting for another guy's job. I don't believe that's the right way to do it.
"But now that he (Zook) doesn't have a job, I guess there will be some discussions. We'll see what happens."

The power of the visor compels you.
Ball Coach is coming back. Ripclawe, you just made my day. We are gonna revenge RUTS the shit out of everyone next year. :lol PEACE.Meanwhile, Spurrier, the coach who preceded Zook and led the Gators to a national championship in 1996 and six Southeastern Conference titles, spent Monday on the golf course at Heathrow Country Club in Seminole County. What are the chances of Louisville's program keeping the big boost it's getting? Has recruiting improved there? I like the coaching staff there. That game against Miami was very well coached. I like creative coaching. Looks like the Big East may end up like a Pac 10 or Big Ten next year. That's not too bad. For a while I thought it was gonna turn into skid row. :lol PEACE.Hollywood said:Louisville fan here, I see another SEC team is trying to steal our coach ... which is ridiculous. We're going to end the season in the top 10 heading into the Big East next year, and have all the momentum in the world. Steal someone elses coach Florida. Hopefuly Petrino stays, if not I'm sure Tom Jurich, our AD, could get us a big name coach heading into next season's BCS run.

Y'know, I had a nice retort all ready to go, talking about how the SEC has some really great new coaches... Saban, Richt, Croom, Johnson at Vandy, etc... and then I remembered.Azwethinkweiz said:Then he'll fit in just fine in the SEC.
Steve Spurrier has told University of Florida officials that he is interested in discussing a possible return to coach the Gators, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Wednesday night.
In addition, Florida officials have now given Spurrier two weeks to determine if he wants the job, although no formal offer has been given and no details such as salary have been discussed, Mortensen reports.
