Yay \o/, maybe Sweden will have a team in CL this year, one can dream at least. IFK Gothenburg is leading against FC Basel away with 2-1 after a goal from young, seventeen year old, Robin Söder. If they go through they will meet portuguese side Vitória Guimaräes in the third qualifying round. They should at least have a big chance against them, and it would be a great feat for Swedish club football if they go through =).

Yes that would nice. I still fondly remember the day a few years back that FC Kopenhagen kicked Ajax out of the CL. It's nice to see more Scandinavian teams in Europe.

Yea, I really hope so. Söder is Swedens next big star, he have scored in every single match since Göteborg started to play him. I really hope that we can see him in WC10 together with Ekdal, Lindgren and all big talents we have right now. But Lagerbäck will probably play Alexandersson, Larsson, Allbäck, Ljungberg (he'll return) and so on.

Juventus have an extreemly strong defence...in numbers. They are crowding out United. Tevez has been forced to play too deep but I have no doubt that with Campbell/Rooney and some penetration we could get a goal.

0-0 HT

Yeah, it has still been an enjoyable game though with some silky passing from Man Utd.

The quality of the passing/game in general has been fantastic. Both defences have just cancelled each other out though. I hope the Da Silva twins come on, I'd like to see them run at a quality denfence.

Söder is a bit young to be playing in the WC '10, don't ya think :lol.
Surely players like Markus Berg and Henok Goitom will be more likely.

With five minutes to go, Sweden's CL dreams are shattered. The frickin' referee, wrongfully, decides to give a penalty for hands, which the replay clearly shows that it wasn't =(.

I may live in Sweden right now but I am still happy for Basel. Go ahead and win the fight against Guimaraes.

Good luck to them, but I don't think they were better in this match, just a bit more luck than Gothenburg ;).

That's exactly what happened in the Arsenal game against them. They were really hard to break down and always had lots back. :-/

Is there a link to the game that actually works? I'm not finding one that's broadcasting. lol

Gratis Gothenburg ! Shitty penalty but great performance. Die Basler have to qualify for the final round now that the referee is with them :( That's not good for the image of the swiss football.

:lol :lol , just turned on the Man U vs Juventus game and the first thing I see is Sissoko losing the ball when trying to show off his technique. Just like the good ol' Liverpool days.

Braid is absolute quality. Thought I'd add that.

Also, add the names with the ladies please, I have no idea who the one in the ball gown is.

Wow, this game has been incredibly similar to the Juve - Arsenal game. :-/ Juve are a bit too much for Arsenal's and Man U's mixed youth lineups (defensively). :-/

Seeing Ekdal play for Juve for the first time (actually first time ever!) makes me think he could be an asset in the coming years for both Juve and Sweden's national team. He looks comfortable with the ball and he put out one good cross in the 10 minutes he played, doesn't say much, but still.

RONALDO CONFIRMS THAT HE STAYS IN MANCHESTER

"Ferguson heard my arguments, I heard his and, in fact, it was settled that the best for both parties would be for me to stay. Therefore, I can confirm that, next season, I will play for Manchester United,"

"And, before rumours emerge saying that I will play against my will, I want to make this clear: whoever says or writes that is lying. I will play for Manchester with all my heart and soul. I will fight and honour that shirt with the same commitment and dedication as always."

TDG - the Noonan to Crew deal went through, btw.

Good to know. I'm thinking about picking it up once I get some cheap MS bucks.

Jaciara (Deco's ex-wife) and Bar Refaeli (DiCaprio's gf), respectively.

In other non-football related questioning:
1) They're starting to show Skins here in a few weeks on BBC America. Should I check it out?
2) Has anyone seen the second "Goal" movie? I think they're finally releasing that here in the US at the end of August. Is it any good?

Meaning I will play just enough to not get hurt so Madrid will still want me next year.

I'm not as deluded as I make myself out to be
Rafael and Fabio look very good. Rafael has been great and Fabio is the one who is meant to be the superstar! Reckon we've got a couple of stars on our hands.

Rodrigo came on today and didn't look out of his depth alongside Scholes or the Juve midfield. Looks like he can be a decent deputy for Carrick.

disappointed to come back from holiday and find out we still haven't signed anyone :(

always knew ronaldo would stay. he was trying to cash in on the greatest individual season in recent years and used madrid as argument. no way would madrid be able to pay the money suggested (financially or politically) either to Man Utd or Ronaldo so it was all obviously bullshit from the get go.

I know that it's legit, I was just being facetious. Of course, I'm sure that Ronaldo will be out of the EPL soon.

I was just coming to post this. Oh, I'm overjoyed. We have the week off, so we have time to get him familiar with the team and practicing. This is very good news.

BTW: The Superliga final had about 9,000 people there. Need anymore proof that everything about the Revs (including their fans) is awful? It's a shame that Kraft owns them, since he'll just ignore them and let them drown in obscurity. They need to get a new owner, I'd prefer someone who's going to move the Revs somewhere that's not New England.

NE needs a team, but the location of that stadium makes it tough for an early weeknight game. Their attendance is still crappy, but that explains part of it.

Yeah, well all these New England "fans" don't seem to have much of a problem getting to the stadium for their other team that wins everything. I mean, it would be one thing if the Revs were unsuccesful, but they're good every single year.

I know there are rumors that Kraft is looking into a new SSS for the Revs, I'm not sure if I buy that.

i agree with you about Kraft for the most part (we will be getting a SSS at some point thought. i think its an MLS demand at this point), but theres no reason to trash the almost 10k that showed up last night. not to mention the diehard folks who are there every game.

i assume you attend every home game of your chosen team?

no need to be a dick. dick.

edit: oh your a Cows fan? :lol good luck with that. keep your racist fans in line over there next time we come to town, k?
