Why were you giving a shit anyway? It sounds a lot like you were worried your beloved mods weren't going to be free anymore which all it does is makes you sound like the entitled one...

It became a possibility as soon as they monetized it. Why make some money off of something when you can make more?

Why wouldn't I be pissed about free mods going away? They fixed glaring issues that the game never should have launched with and let me test them for conflicts/bugs/etc. at my leisure without the worry of flushing money down the shitter.

If you cared about the modder as much as you say you do, you would have no problem kicking them a buck or two or three to support. At the end of the day if the modder truly cared about the community or whatever, they would have kept it free anyway.

I don't care nearly as much about the modders as much as I care about keeping the Skyrim modding scene intact. There are so many interdependencies and community assets (shared with the understanding that they aren't used for profit) that introducing money into the equation would have broken a ton of these mods.

If people were depending on mods to pay their bills, they were fools and have much bigger problems. If they weren't, they lose out on some extra money on the side. Yes, it sucks, but a few extra bucks for them is not worth killing the scene in my opinion.

They're free to launch FO4/TES6 with paid mods (as long as they keep supporting free ones) so people can happily charge $5 for a shitty Naruto reskin of an iron sword, since it will be established from the start that mods will be sold. That way, the actual good mods won't require dependencies on paid mods. I'll still think it's dumb, but whatever.

The game needs shaking up every once in a while. You cant just tinker back and forth with numbers every patch.

This is all pretty exciting to me. I'm assuming the compendium blog post will be tomorrow.

Agreed, DOTA games were losing their fun for me.

Yup exactly this. This introduces a ton of new stuff to the game which it really needed.

This subtle difference applies most commonly with Blink Dagger, as you could easily accidentally cancel your blink order if you clicked the other ability before you reached the critical angle (since otherwise Blink has 0 cast time).

Edit: So Alchemist giving someone else Scepter is permanent right?

I went down a deep music hole and found out the people who did the EXCELLENT Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World videogame soundtrack do some sort of interesting Chiptune/electronica/pop music.

Its not bad! Could be some decent dota music.

Anamanaguchi! They're pretty great. Their latest album (Endless Fantasy) is probably my favorite of theirs, check it out.

I don't remember much of LoL but it does seem like the emphasis has been put back on Pace of Play. Buff every hero, make vision way more cost effective, nerf towers.

AT, soon they'll probably add furry costumes!

Anyone of the usual suspects put up a good patch notes video yet?

Thoughts on the hero changes I sent to Rubx:


Attempting in vain to analyze all the gold/XP changes. Seems like there are some odd differences in philosophy between the changes. Fox Dota News is probably complaining about socialism and trying to give more gold to the low net worth class. Nerfing lane creep XP is weird.

I don't like the change of silence no longer disabling invisibility. At least for stuff like Riki's invis. You're disabling the skill, it should no longer function.

Greevil's Greed lvl 1, bounty rune OMG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ new meta

Batrider nerf seems odd given his current use.

That Centaur Aghs upgrade seems pretty absurd. Like what are you supposed to do in the face of that? Just death incarnate charging at your team like unstoppable madmen. Add onto that the fact that Centaur is the type of hero that requires so little as far as items go and it makes so much sense to pick it up pretty early.

Those DK buffs seem pretty sizeable, the Breath Fire one especially. DK hits a Breathe Fire, Vengeful Spirit buys a bloodstone and suicides in the middle of a teamfight, the other team does literally no damage.

Black Hole now does more damage constantly than its max damage before on top of more manageable mana costs.

Icefrog desperately wants to force people to put more than one point in Bladeflury. Sad thing is I don't think this change is even enough to force it.

I don't think the Legion Aghs upgrade is useful in the least, but it's pretty funny. "No one leaves until one of us is dead!" I'd love to see Rubick Aghs steal it and then use it on another support as they meekly attack each other for several minutes.

LD buffs! I wonder if the Aghs scepter can be on the bear to get the upgrade or if it has to be on the hero.

NP buffs as well, hooray for me and Bulldog.

I initially thought the Nyx change was huge because I read it as being able to stun with breaking Vendetta, but it's actually just Carapace. That Aghs upgrade is interesting but weird. Could be devastating if executed correctly in a teamfight, not sure how realistically viable it is.

Seems like an Oracle nerf to me, new False Promise doesn't seem as good as the old one.

Don't know that Shadow Shaman needed any buffing. Neither did Tide.

Sniper got hit by the nerf bat pretty hard.

The Weaver Aghs upgrade actually seems pretty interesting and viable. I did the math for all those changes to The Swarm, seems like a buff for levels 1 and 2, slight nerf for levels 3 and 4. Probably going to re-think my Weaver skill build as someone that currently maxes Swarm second.

Crying about Winter Wyvern nerfs?

How do you kill a bb that is already tanky as fuck and now his quill spray heals him.

The new silver edge seems made for something like going up against bristleback. Disables his passives.

Or passives don't proc lifesteal. Only active abilities. That'll at least stop the auto quill sprays.

you mean that one that is sitting unused in someones inventory? If you dont kill him in the sheep window he just comes back, spams quills, and heals right back up.

Yeah the passive has to go at the very least. All bb has to do if hes low and there are a few ppl trying to kill him is to turn his back and run away while spamming quills. Eventually he will heal up to the point where he starts chasing the 3 of you!
