:lol Good job OP. But man, from the highs of Team Canada, back down to the Leafs... Oh joy. =(

These next few days are our last chance to be happy this season. :(

just a few more hours for ESPN to talk about "will the olympics spur more interest in the NHL!?!?" before forgetting it for another 2 months.

Maybe if you gave it half-way decent coverage...

Dreger and McKenzie throwin out Parent for Hamhuis? Saying Poile wants a young d-man? Grebeshkov move doesn't make sense if that's the case. Preds need a top 6 forward, damnit

*The Flyers and Penguins are in on Colby Armstrong.

Eklund better be wrong (lol)... Colby is not a top6 forward......

Pittsburgh and LA are trying to land Ponikarovsky

Also for some reason there are teams interested in Primeau and Stempniak.

The Leafs will be painful to watch without Poni or Stempniak. Jeez we're gonna get tons of flak as Leaf fans for the way our forward group will look on paper (if they're indeed traded).

But... I'm excited about the future anyway. :D

Haha. Didn't know that was part of the moderator repertoire. :lol

Olympics over, back to the harsh reality of the Red Wings playoff struggle.

I wonder where Babcock's head will be tonight. Can he focus on the Wings so soon after the 2nd biggest victory of his career? Thankfully all the players except for Filppula and Rafalski should be rested and ready to go atleast.

Will be interesting to see if Holland makes a significant move before the deadline..

This is an NHL thread :)
:lol

I'm curious as to what Chicago is going to do. They've got 6 goalies in the system so that Huet/Crawford/Versteeg for Vokoun rumor is starting to make more sense.

Oh please. Sid bailed out Luongo but you don't see kass milking it with his OP.
Please realize that when you troll NetMapel, you incidentally troll the rest of us!!

But yeah, Luongo won in February. And not in the NHL. We should just be relieved that he said nothing about Crosby.

Never even crossed my mind. I nearly put a Ray Shero hoisting the Stanley Cup pic, but I thought I would leave that out of the thread. You all suffered enough in the offseason/october threads.

Hopefully the Dead Wings get blown out tonight, so Babcock goes back to feeling like shit. Go Avs!

I hate the Wings as much as the next guy being an Avs fan and all, but what's your beef with Babcock?

TOPS 2002 SALT LAKE GOLD MEDAL GAME BY 10.5 MILLION VIEWERS: The 27.6 million viewers for Sunday's gold medal game was 10.5 million more (up 61 percent) from the Canada-USA gold medal game from the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics (17.1 million viewers). The 15.2/30 rating for yesterday's game was four-and-a-half rating points higher than the 10.7/24 for the 2002 gold medal game and was the highest-rated hockey game of any kind since the USA vs. Finland 1980 gold medal game (23.2/61). The "Miracle on Ice" semifinal game between the USA and Russia had a household rating of a 23.9/37.

The audience peaked at 34.8 million viewers (18.6/34 hh rating) from 5:30-6 p.m. ET, when the USA's Zach Parise(notes) (New Jersey Devils) sent the game to overtime with the tying goal with just 24.4 seconds left in regulation.
Excluding the NFL, the 17.6 overnight for the game is the second-highest of the year for any sporting event, behind only the Texas/Alabama BCS National Championship Game in January (18.2).

It's so good to see Lilja out there.

It's even better to not see Lebda or Meech.

edit: wow, what a shift. this looks like a healthy, rested team. me like.

Like we aren't getting flak for our forwards on paper anyways. :lol

Really after he trades Poni/Stemps there really aren't much guys left from the former administration. It'll be all Burke guys.

Sick PP by the Wings. I have not seen the Wings look this good all season..
If they win tonight they'll be in 8th, so hopefully they can start to get on a roll here.

Right back at you pal! ;)

You are training them well aren't you?

Also 2 goal lead, that is all I'm saying, I just hope we can keep it.

Edit: I love not seeing Lebda or Meech out there, it gives me great confidence and Lilja has looked good, especially on the PK.
