Shaun Alexander, Cedric Benson, Verand Morency meets with Lions staff. The hell?

Shaun Alexander was one of several running backs to meet with the Lions on Tuesday. Alexander, the former Seattle Seahawks star, worked out for the coaching staff at the team's practice facility while former Chicago Bears runner Cedric Benson, a former first-round draft pick, also came in for a visit.

Free agent running Vernand Morency, who played for the Packers, was also brought in to meet Detroit's coaches and front office personnel.

A signing of any player is not imminent because the Lions are happy with their running backs and are only building a "short list'' in case one of their top runners gets hurt and Detroit needs a quick replacement. Contract negotiatons have not begun for any of the running backs who were brought in.

I am very angry that I won't be able to watch LA's team (the Giants) this week.

At least LA's AFC team (the Jets) is on this week. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS.

Roethlisberger was on the run for the majority of last year's season and arguably had his best season yet. I didn't watch all of last weeks game versus the Bills but sacks didn't seem to be all that big of a problem last week.

It was a sack that effectively ended any chance of the Jags winning the game. There weren't as many as in the first game, but there was constant pressure, and on multiple occasions Garrard had to shrug off defenders to get the ball away.

bionic77 said:
What the Jags really need is a bye to regroup and figure out what they have at o-line.

I think the problem is that the Jags already know what they have at O-line. And it consists of a whole lot of backups and guys who got cut elsewhere. What they need is for Meester and Wade to get healthy for a start.

Man it just gets worse for the colts, now bob sanders will be out 3-4 weeks with a high ankle sprain and while out he will have his knee scoped.

saw it on espn this morning.

all the powerhouses are suffering so many injuries.

KC @ ATL -Kansas City is the second best team in the state of Missouri (ouch).
OAK @ BUF -Buffalo has been impressive on defense and special teams, and won't let McFadden run wild.
TB @ CHI -Tampa is having issues, Chicago is at home with what appears to be another great defense.
CAR @ MIN -It's tough to pick Minnesota, mostly because Carolina isn't great but scrappy.
MIA @ NE -Another easy one for New England. Who devised this schedule?
CIN @ NYG -Cincinnati looks awful. Where did Carson Palmer go?
HOU @ TEN -I changed my pick here. Houston can't run, and Tennessee's defense has been great. Close, but not cigar for the Texas who could start 0-5 (before playing the Dolphins), easily.
ARI @ WAS -Arizona has been nice and productive, beating up on its hapeless division rivals. We in the NFC West are not quite ready for the NFC East. Not quite. :lol
DET @ SF -On the other hand, the NFC West is ready for the likes of Detroit.
STL @ SEA -Seahawks at home can not lose to the Rams who are both last in offense and defense.. right?
NO @ DEN - New Orleans is so up and down. Both these teams have all the offensive tools and not a lot of defense. It should be entertaining.
PITT @ PHI - The first real test for the Steelers, and the Eagles coming off a game Monday night they probably believe they coulda shoulda won.
JAC @ IND - Jacksonville has been meh, Indy has been meh. I take the team with the Manning.
CLE @ BAL - Cleveland better start moving the ball, because their defense is not coming to the resue. Baltimore has had two bye weeks now, so we'll see.
DAL @ GB - I changed this pick a few times. Rodgers has been great, but Dallas is the complete team. A nice 70f day at Lambeau for a great game.
NYJ @ SD - It won't be close. San Diego always talks a lot, but now they're angry and they'll take it out on the Favres.

Holy.. a lot of home wins this week. Unbeaten after this week; New England, Dallas, NYG, Tennessee and Buffalo. Winless teams; Detroit, Kansas City, St. Louis, Miami, Jacksonville, Cinny and Houston.

It could happen.

Now we just need them to lose a couple more defensive players and it could be a fair fight after all. :D

the defense is already weak and I don't see them getting a better record then 9-7/8-8.

And I need to read more clearly before posting.......

to bad you're 1-1 and about to go 1-2. I like peyton over brady but since there is no brady I don't want to see a successful manning this year either so I hope for a 9-7 / 8-8 for the colts.
Dont you mean 0-2?

I think you might be slightly misjudging who iapetus' team is. And you'd probably better correct it before he permabans you! Because the accusation is a pretty nasty one!:P

But we get LA's other team, the Saints once again!

Bleh.

Also I like the WR moves the Seahawks made. Koren Robinson has top 10 talent and hopefully he's straightened his life out.

Keary Colbert led the pass wacky Pac 101 in receiving his senior year. He's a great route runner and an excellent slot guy.

Just to make sure we're clear. You're coming out in clear approval of Koren Robinson and Keary Colbert.

CAR @ MIN -It's tough to pick Minnesota, mostly because Carolina isn't great but scrappy.
Carolina can beat the Chargers and the Bears without Steve Smith but not the Vikings with Steve Smith?
MIA @ NE -Another easy one for New England. Who devised this schedule?

Wouldn't you when your #1 WR is from a crap school like Auburn? Honestly, WAT.

Us Niner fans have some tough games coming up:

September 28 New Orleans
October 5 New England
October 12 Philadelphia
October 19 N.Y. Giants
October 26 Seattle
November 10 Arizona
November 23 Dallas
November 30 Buffalo
December 28 Washington

Pretty tough schedule
