Childress says it's just a flesh wound, and maybe All Day will be back in two weeks. But will he be the same when he comes back? He can kiss that 2,000-yard rookie season goodbye.

Somewhere, Eric Dickerson is smiling......

I wonder if Childress will try and rush Peterson back to try and save his job.

His job's in jeopardy already? They may be doing poorly overall but I'd argue there's potential for them (if they can manage to get a good QB).

They moved the Bears/Hawks game to 1:15 to show the Pats/Bills game? I suppose the Pats are more 'popular' but come on that is going to be a shitty game that'll be over by the end of the 1st quarter. The bears/hawks game probably will be a more interesting game.

Hey, KC versus Indy, the only watchable game for the week! Wonderful. So glad that they'll show me Oakland instead. So glad.

Two things for a 49er fan to be happy about after losing 7 straight games

1) We were not the first team to lose to the Rams
2) The Dolphins aren't on our schedule

Another Monday Night Clunker, but at least SF isn't involved.

Am I the only one who finds Jay Cutler oddly enjoyable? And arousing?

I hope so.
Childress is fucking horrid, IMO. Sure, he bothered to get an offensive coordinator this year (unlike last year), but a lot of good that's done. He didn't even trust Brad Johnson, a veteran, Super Bowl winning quarterback, to call his own plays at the line- so yeah, we saw a lot of 50 yard passes on 3rd and 1. I saw more moronic calls offensively last year than I've seen from the Vikings in a long, long time.

dump that bum Childress. Maybe Bill Cowher or Marty Schottenheimer will be ready to get back into the action next year and the Vikes can pick one of them up.
Peterson, staying healthy, is one hell of a foundation for this team. The offensive line is solid, the run defense is among the best (if not THE best) in the league. They just need an arm that's worth a shit.

Oh man, Vince Young in primetime in Mile High.......that'll be AWESOME!

I don't know why, but for some reason I thought Vince Young was already out for the season. Good to know he isn't - long may he remain the Titans QB!

I've never actually made my picks on this board before. With both my picks and team flailing, though, I need to change something.

NO @ HOU As much as I'd like to see NO lose again, last week was just an aberration.
KC @ IND Indy can't lose 3 in a row, can they?
OAK @ MIN I can't believe this game is televised...
NYG @ DET Lions are unbeatable at home!
MIA @ PHI Just to tease Philly fans into thinking they're legit again.
SD @ JAC Just give the ball to LT.
ARI @ CIN I smell 8 FGs!
CLE @ BAL Anderson is coming back to Earth.
CAR @ GB As long as their running game isn't a mirage.
TB @ ATL The Falcons already have way more wins than they should.

PIT @ NYJ Upset special.
CHI @ SEA Sexy Rex is back!
WAS @ DAL The Cowboys are really fucking good.
STL @ SF If the Rams can score more than 0, they'll win.

NE @ BUF A close game, though.

Ten @ Den Why not?

I knew Peterson would get injured the day he started running like a madman. He's not going to stay healthy, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's co-hosting College Game Day in 6 years.

How about them Lions :(

Actually didn't some Cowboy say that the Patriots weren't the better team?

Yeah, Patrick Crayton. A lot of Cowboys fans are getting sick of Crayton's trash talk and think he needs to STFU and just play.

This is Crayton's contract year so the only explanation I can think of is that he wants his name heard around the league and wants some publicity.

But hey, I'm sure if the Pats beat the Cowboys twice, Crayton would say the Pats are the better team. Dallas beat the Giants twice, and Osi still refuses to accept that the Cowboys are better.

Wow.....I just saw Fred Taylor's 13 yard run to make him hit 10000 yards.....it was outstanding, just made 2 defenders miss and bowled over a safety:D

Chargers should be a good challenge, at least for our offense, their offense is pretty putrid since people figured out that Rivers just isn't that good yet.

NO @ HOU 1:00 PM I dont really think Houston will win, I just refuse to pick the Saints.
KC @ IND 1:00 PM
OAK @ MIN 1:00 PM AD better heal up quick
NYG @ DET 1:00 PM The Giants are mad, theyll take it out on Detroit.
MIA @ PHI 1:00 PM Miami might as well lose out to lock #1 pick.

You expect a premier, competitive player like Osi to say a big rival are better? Not at all. They would say "They executed better," etc. but to expect them to praise the others in all mighty is nonsense.

BTW, Osi barely played in Week 1.

yeah, I don't think any player should feel the need to admit another team is better until their season is over. I'd rather players be confident in themselves and their team.

Im a Cowboys fan and Im sick of Craytons shit as well. He really does need to just stfu and catch the ball. That said, the Giants talked alot of shit before sundays game, and got beat...at home. I think overall the Cowboys as a team have been very humble for where they are in the league and Crayton is just getting his 15 mins while he can before Glenn comes back. <<wishful thinking

You never heard players say "we lost to the better team"?. Players could also say "we need to improve and keep working hard so next time when we play them the outcome would be different".

Hell, Wade Phillips admitted after the loss to the Pats that the Cowboys are not on the same level as the Pats and need to improve.

Saying something like "they're absolutely not a better team than us" sounds childish when you lost by double digits at home and on the road. I would say something like "

And clearly Osi would have made a difference in Week 1, right? When Flozell doesn't get false starts, he dominates Osi.

So, iapetus, what does someone have to do to replace Terry Cousin at nickel for the Jags? He's been AWFUL this year, like Jason David awful.

In the two games since signing his six-year, $67.5 million contract extension, QB Tony Romo is 40 of 53 for 571 yards and seven TDs. He's also knocked off Lou the Devil several times in Guitar Hero III.

:lol

Didn't Osi dominate Flo the past few years? I kinda forgot but I thought he did.

It's possible that Osi played well when Flozell was out with the torn ACL or when Drew Bledsoe was the QB.

a moron? yes i realize.

Then why do you think he'll suddenly develop the ability to follow a devious and complex game plan such as the one you're suggesting? He hasn't managed it yet, and I don't see it suddenly manifesting itself this week. You'd have to be some sort of football wunderkind to come up with the stunning idea that if you've got one of the best running backs to play the game in a long time you should maybe give him the ball once or twice. It's a bold scheme - some might say foolhardy - and I don't think he's got it in him to take that huge step into the unknown. Winning games by getting the ball to your best player? That's communist thinking, son.

More importantly, I realize who the QB is.

Indeed. But Norv doesn't.

Didn't the Jags just destroy the Titans?

Yes, but it was the Titans without Stompy Haynesworth, and he does make a big difference (now that he's in a contract year). Hell, he could very well be the best player in the NFL right now.
Actually, Jack Del Rio said that before the game - and before it was known he'd be out...

Tamanon said:

I think it's just a volunteer thing. If you're up for giving it a go yourself, just let Jack know. If it weren't for the commute I'd volunteer to replace him myself - I'm 6'2", out of shape and can't play football for shit. So basically the only difference is that I've got five inches on him, so it's got to be an improvement.
