Ok WTF is Nintendo talking about?

I watched the press conference but the forums have been down and I haven't been able to get this off my chest until now. Since the N64 I have not owned a Nintendo system and never cared to own one again because they really have just not been appealing to me lately. But as boring as their press conference was....I realized they managed to grab my interest with this mystery puzzle controller thing they got going on.

The one thing I noticed is that he said the Revolution controler(s) on more than one occasion. Is that just bad english or did he just reveal that it will have more than one controller, as in, probably one for each hand? I saw a mock-up of something similar lately.

Now as much as I love to have the best graphcis out there, I have to admiit...some things are getting stale in the videogame world. I mean MS's big titles have 3's in them...Sony's all the way up to 5 and 6....so if this little gadget allows me to interact with a videogame differently than me using an analog stick and a button and allows for new genres to be created....I AM VERY VERY INTRIGUED! Congratulations Nintendo. You got my attentions for the first time in a decade!

As for the rest of their stuff....god they're just way out there as far as what I like goes.

Now don't get me wrong...I believe Nintendo is the biggest bullshitter of them all, but they did introduce the analog stick which we are all using today...so I have to at least give them the benefit of the doubt, that they might actually have something interesting for us this time around.

It could I suppose if it has different colors....but why all the secrecy then? I have to believe they're doing something different here.

Plus a few sites have stuff up about some big huge conspiracy to shock the world on the 19th... or the last day of E3... or something I don't know....

There are going to be multiple layers to how we interact with the Revolution.

I hope they've got dual-wielding pads - either two pads per person, or one that can be split in two, as some drawings circulated on the net have shown.

I think we'll definitely be wearing glasses or a headset of some sort. Likely polarized glasses like those used for IMAX 3D. They're cheap, but could be made to look cool for little expense.

Likely Nintendo will also make use of a camera that tracks motion, like the Eyetoy. The Eyetoy has huge potential and I see Nintendo trying to take advantage of that.

I've heard this too, which is... well, I think it's a bunch of fanboys that can't deal with the fact that the Revolution unveiling is going to be awhile.

That said, if Nintendo has got it on the show floor, or does some sort of special presentation on the show floor, that's one helluva surprise!

Yup, Nintendo is awesome... I'm looking forward to Mario Party 25 personally.

Hope springs eternal for the newbie nintendo fan.

You know, I think the amount of milking they're doing with Mario Party is pretty ridiculous, but no more ridiculous than that of sports titles that release every year with a roster upgrade.

Well Mario Party each year has different games in it... and no sports title is released every year with JUST a roster upgrade... so I think both can be looked at... as good milking.

Mark my word, Nintendo is going to do something retro... Rereleased the original NES, SNES and N64 controllers in a light redesign so it "fits" with the Revolution, wireless...

Their games honestly just don't appeal to me anymore save for about two...what interests me is if they give me a new method of interaction for my favorite developers to make use of it.

Plus there's that issue of mario party games selling well every year. I've liked most of them myself.

And if they brought back DK as a playable character I'll definitely get the new one.

From this thread:
Here is my theory:

We are currently EXPERIENCING the Nintendo Revolution DEMO. This isn't just marketing, this was Nintendo's way to break the boundaries and show you first hand what a shift in paradigm really means.

Think about it, we are playing a game right now. Iwata and Reggie are playing a "puzzle game" with us. The console does not exist, the interface is not a controller.

The medium is video, websites, forums, news leaks, speculations. The platform is ourselves - or rather, our brains. This is beyond a game isn't it? This is a growing living entity that resides in each of us, that we are experiencing as part of our real lives and is unique for all of us. The deeper we dig, the more we learn and the bigger the game becomes. We help create this game, Moz has played a large role in all our games.

Massively multiplayer, seamlessly linking Internet to console and portable gaming. Imagine the possibilities - isn't this what Square Enix described as "a whole new platform"? The traditional internet multiplayer death matches and versus modes suddenly seem so limited.

This gaming arena is no longer our TV, its has become part of our world.

If true - it would be truly mind boggling stuff
Where's the megarolleyes when I need it.. Or Drinky.

haha, fanboys. If Nintendo WAS doing such a "demo", they'd be retarded, because the media isn't playing. They've just finished shouting SONY IS THE WINNAR at the top of their lungs and are now illing on the show floor, grinding through mediocre licensed games and rolling their eyes at every new PS2/Xbox gangland sim demo'd by a Western dev.

There may or may not be a THURSDAYTON, but chances are, the pittance of Revolution information is just that: Nintendo isn't ready to show it for whatever reason. A lot of folks on the inside have already seen the controller, anyhow. Any such meta-demonstration as envisioned by the idle minds of fantards would exist for only ONE reason: to excite said fantards, who are the only sort of delusional types to concoct such an egocentric scenario. Fuck 'em. The Revolution isn't ready, it probably won't rock any worlds but your own, and Nintendo's still trying to figure out the optimal time to get its message out.
