It's almost impossible to aim on controller without it. NPCs have too much reflexes
Actually, I have arrived at Part 3 and have not used the lock on yet with controller.

Yeah some encounters can't be solved without it or resorting to sheer luck. It's not just a controller thing, locking on to get quick shots around corners against gun toting enemies was necessary for me. Though it seems like I can reconfigure every all the controls except this, I don't like clicking in the scrollwheel, would much prefer mouse4 or something.
Luring them through a doorway or to a corner works well.Is mission 3 impossible? I have only tried it 40 times or so, but I can barely make a move on the second floor before I'm dead!

I find it too difficult to keep track of which direction my tiny pixel guy is facing
This is a cool TK clone actually. (TK being an age old finnish indie game from before "indie games" even existed in peoples vocabulary)
Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCUMb5_ByRo&feature=related
I played this a ton as a kid and it had a level editor where me and my friends recreated our homes and families and... killed 'em all naturally(The name stands for "Tapan Kaikki" as in I kill 'em all)
Anyways Hotline Miami has great presentation and really fast old school gameplay. You can't unlike it.
I gave it a go. I think it sucks.
The game makes it clear to the player in the beginning that it's a bug filled mess. The controls when using a controller is bad; it should be like proper dual stick shooter. Other times the controller straight up doesn't work.
No graphics controls, no resolution choices. Why isn't this in 16:9? Do these indie hippie devs still use 4:3 CRT's in 2012?
This is a nice compilation of music with a pre alpha attached.
Even when I tried to quit, the game froze.
It doesn't even work properly in XSplit! What a loser game.
I get that it is not meant as something negative, but it is really not a clone from what I see from the video. I would not even be surprised if they have never seen the game since they look completely different except from very few mechanics.
Why does this game crash so much?
this game is more important than mario. any attempt to mechanically de-construct the game in to a sum of its parts misses the point entirely. it's a pulp experience, an acrid leather jacked with dried puke down the sleeve and a gram of coke in the pocket. a hazy recollection of the night before with only a black eye and a bout of herpes to show for it.
i've never wanted to wear mario.
How do people now know about this game???
GB quicklook and threads on here alot...

EDIT: Sometimes I'm not even aloud to enter the first door on the first floor before a guy shoots me.
Great game nonetheless though!![]()

One of the best games of the year. The weird thing is that I've watched some Hotline Miami gameplay on youtube, and the game looks a lot different on the youtube vids than my game looks.
Need the full soundtrack guhhh. I bought the EP already now I need the rest! c:
I see what you did there. This is probably my GOTY, heavy emphasis on GAME

The soundtrack coming through my headset makes me literally nauseous.
I played through the entire game without lock on. I aimed like a man. The lock on is too clumsy anyway.
Also horse mask is the best

Is the GOG version any better?
Yup, that's me.Was that you playing? Did you ever use the lock view forward button?
Wait, I haven't booted this up yet, but I can't play in, say, 1600x900?Ok, I totally am not getting these indie developers who are lately making these sprite games and don't have any options for resolutions or windowed modes (same issue with Home and Lone Survivor, etc.). Do they think their consumers are primarily playing with 800x600 monitors or something?
Great game otherwise.
