i know people hate piper but i love her and her penchant for being a walking talking disaster 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's been really good so far. I can't quite remember if I felt this way about Season two early on or not, or if it was the season as a whole that disappointed me, but I'm really enjoying three so far.
Liking it so far, but lol in retrospect at some of the "I hope there's not too much Bennett and Daya" comments because that seems to be the main focus so far. The hatefuck scenes between Piper and Alex were pretty hot. Looking forward to whenever Ruby Rose will show up.

Overall, I really liked the season, but at the same time it also kind of felt like table setting for next season. The reason I feel like this is that all of the lingering ends for the inmates seem to be in a solid place by the end of the season. for the actual prison though, the privatisation is setting everything up for a much darker season 4. It also brings what is probably the biggest moral of the show so far, with it's hiring shitty guards so they don't have to supply insurance, and deciding to punish Sophia for being a victim of a hate crime.
A few of my favourite parts were Piper turning into used panties Walter White (the moment where she gets Ruby Rose's character shipped off to max was great), Alex becoming (rightfully) paranoid and probably dies, Taystee becoming the mum for the black crew, Nicky gets shipped off to max, Pennsatucky works with Boo to sort out her baggage, Leanne ends up being fucking Amish, Red gets her place back, that baby finally comes, Caputo gets turned to the dark side, Suzanne finds her place, and a possible religion is formed.
The end part was great, as the inmates get a moment in the lake where they come to terms with themselves. This is followed with the prison population doubling, as knockoff GEO Group decides that they can make more money with bunk beds. I look forward to next year when knockoff GEO Groups shittiness becomes apparent, their Martha Stewart character gets thrown in the mix, and the doubling of the prison population changes up everything for the worse.
lol when the guard talked about periods during the tour. The men were like "uh huh" as the sole woman looked around like "is this dude (are these dudes) fucking serious right now?"
Have they ever shown Sophia in the cafeteria? I feel like she doesn't exist outside of her salon.
Episode 1-12 spoilers:
I love how without a real villain like Vee, it's kind of become a hang out show that just happens to be set in a prison. I love the whole storyline of pseudo-Martha Stuart almost coming to Lichfield and how excited all the different groups got.
".....and even you Buddy Jr." to her last aborted child had my wife and I dying. That whole scene is incredibly sad and incredibly hilarious the way it is delivered.
I can handle her being horrible and entitled, but what makes me hate her is that she literally never learns and then turns on the waterworks when things blow up in her face. That's not a character worth sympathizing with.
I'm a few episodes in and I'm just meh. I liked Piper being the main character but now it seems to be trying to switch focus to everyone else. Think I'm done.
I never understand the Piper hate, when people here keep saying Season 1 is better than season 2, and yet season 1 focused mostly on Piper.
The worst character (and worst storyline) on the show is Dayanara (or Daya for short). Why have we spent so many seasons on this woman's pregnancy? Her storyline with Bennet always drags the show down to a snail crawl.

Season 1 was also about Piper realising what was apparent to everyone, that she is a yuppie self absorbed shitbird. It was refreshing. Then it's like she forgot about that and became oblivious about how much of a hot mess she is in season 2.

Here is my personal interpretation / take-away on the Piper character. I know other people are going to see this differently, but I want to share my own thoughts. Side Note: I haven't seen all of Season 3's episodes yet. I just finished episode 9.
In public, she constantly puts on a mask/disguise to make herself seem less threatening to the other inmates That whole "Woe is me, why do bad things always happen to me when I do good things" schtick makes her seem non-threatening to the other inmates. But she's the most dangerous inmate in the entire prison for that exact reason.
She's a schemer. She's a manipulator. She is a liar. She is a backstabber who talks behind people's backs for her own personal gain.
But more importantly, she is a ruthless politician in the prison system. Remember in season 1, when Piper is in the running for WAC, and the only reason she wins is because of her friendship with Mr. Healy? Season 2 was a great example of how she manipulated the prison system so she wouldn't get transferred. Season 2 was a great example of her manipulating the prison system to force Alex back into prison. Remember when she started up a prison newsletter in Season 2 to expose the corruption of the prison system? Even season 3,
she exploits the women in the prison system to sell dirty women's underwear to make a profit.
And she, like most politicians, are typically hypocrites who say one thing and do another thing. And like most politicians, they want everyone to like them, even if that means telling a lie or two. She even
gave a long-ass, ridiculous speech
in Season 3 like a politician.
And that's the point: She didn't forget that she was a yuppie self absorbed shitbird. After season 2, she accepted and embraced the fact that she's a terrible person. That's why she's not going to learn any lessons from her time at prison. Again, she is Litchfield's most ruthless politician.
Anyways, that's my take-away on the Piper character. I know this show is based on a true story, but this show isn't following the book 100%.
Finished the season. It was good. Felt more like a time waster this time around which is fine. I still hate half the cast and like the other half. However, fuck them for
writing out Bennett. His character was not leading up to abandoning Daya especially after the proposal.
Also, for being the new girl this season,
Stella was fucking boring and bland. I liked the idea that Piper just keeps going off the deep end but Stella served no purpose.
Besides that, I enjoyed it somewhat. Now it serves up as popcorn TV which is good because I rather have this be popcorn TV than shows like Big Bang.
P.S. the OP set up major disappointments.
Vee does not show up once. I was waiting the entire season to see how they bring her back. And instead they do bring back Pornstache and he's a shoehorned in for no reason.
