I'm hoping they have toned it down just a slight bit. That was the one fatal flaw of the first one. It was an overload of annoyance on top of a game with great mechanics.Looks like the writing is just as annoying as the first game.
Great trailer, but I was so disappointed in OW1 that they're going to have to show some amazing gameplay, mechanics and player agencies...and not double down on the irony to rope me back in.
More far left trash from Obsidian. Writing seems to possess the subtlety of a nuclear warhead.
Man, one of the best studios in the history of RPG's have thoroughly lost their way. It's legitimately tragic to see.
Not writing it off completly until after I've seen some extended gameplay, if for nothing else then my love of what Obsidian has delivered in the past. The Direct is pretty good. This is shaping up pretty well.
I guess that's my point. They're Obsidian in name only, and it's just sad to see.errrrrr what? Old Obsisian and current Obsidian are two very diffferent things.
This new team is basically no one except for Sawyer left from the old days.
ah I see.. yeah it sucks. Can blame Microsoft for that.I guess that's my point. They're Obsidian in name only, and it's just sad to see.
What? They just had to throw in that little dig at "capitalism" at the end.
The "socialists" that you pander to don't buy your fuckin game.![]()

They acquired the studio along with inXile around the same time and gutted staff from both to cost cut. CLockwork revolution from inXile looks a lot better than this though.
What?
The flaws of rampant capitalism is a target for everyone. I mean the US President, not known for his lefty views, has been railing against it for months.
I will join my comrades in the gamepass collective to play at launch through our communal games library where everyone has access to the same games regardless of wealth. Well we Party Collective members (PC) get more games for less money, but that is due to our service in dismantling the capitalist apparatus that was GFWL.I'm sure you and all of your comrades will play this game at launch.
Having played all the way through Avowed, it seems Loot is not this studios strong point.i hope they fix the loot ssytem, every gun looked exact same was so basic
yeah melee combat in avowed is something else actually. it feels like they were really proud of the melee gameplay mechanics they made for avowed and decided "well why not use it here too". i'm not too mad, shooting in outer worlds was not that great, so i'd probably prefer a melee style gameplay in this one tooI expect this to be a lot like Avowed. Visuals look a bit similar, so I think it'll be more impressive in person when you're playing. Specialty guns appear to be taking the place of magic.
I went with a stealth / ranged ranger character so this shouldn't be too far off for me honestly. The bow actually had a few subtle things that made it really fun to use for the duration of the game (and the guns as well). Not holding L gave you a mid range camera for up close, then you can hold L to turn your position on the bow and go for the longer range zoomed in. Handguns were great as well. I had the starmetal long gun also and was just 1 shotting almost everyone at the end.yeah melee combat in avowed is something else actually. it feels like they were really proud of the melee gameplay mechanics they made for avowed and decided "well why not use it here too". i'm not too mad, shooting in outer worlds was not that great, so i'd probably prefer a melee style gameplay in this one too
it will probably have companions again like avowed and outer worlds 1 so it should be easy to find someone to tank shots![]()
i played wizard with a sword so i don't know how guns and bows play out but i will probably try them more when next big update hits and when i replay the gameI went with a stealth / ranged ranger character so this shouldn't be too far off for me honestly. Same, I had a sword made from Starmetal and used it during the rare instances I had a lizzard in my face.i played wizard with a sword so i don't know how guns and bows play out but i will probably try them more when next big update hits and when i replay the game
I did not know the first one was on Epic store. If I have it in my library( I should) maybe I can mod it to use DLSS. The PC Gamepass version only has FSR 2 and thats no good. Will this be free on Epic at some point like the first game?
Take my $80...

I think Avowed was a pretty major step up over Outer Worlds.Really liked Avowed, don't plan to touch this and trailer didn't change my mind at all. Just could not get into the first game.
fuckkkk lol. didnt realize it was the same studio. Avowed was 10x better than outer worlds for loot and even that was mediocre at bestHaving played all the way through Avowed, it seems Loot is not this studios strong point.
