Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I'd just limit his turning radius so that you can actually flank him when he's stuck in turret mode. I'm so surprised they gave him that insane damage and the ability to completely swivel around. You know, like most manned turrets we see in vidya.

He used to have a shield and couldn't turn 360 degrees. I do wish he couldn't do that since you can't flank his ass properly.

A whole day full of 2x Bastion, 1x Torbjorn, 1x Mercy, 1x Reinhardt and 1x Widowmaker/Pharah defence teams making my life miserable. There is nothing you can do against this type of garbage if they position themselves correctly in the chokepoints to make your only access in direct line of fire of minigun hell, everything is shredded before it even turns the corner so even full coordinated ult attacks fail. And if you do manage to make a dent? Bee-boop-bee-beep x2, MOLTEN CORE, heroes never die.

For the love of god he just shouldn't have sniper rifle accuracy at extreme distance, Widowmaker and Hanzo should not have to be fearful of peeking their head out halfway across the map to line up a shot if they are meant to be counters. As it is, the amount of skill required to take down a shielded Bastion is not even remotely in proportion to the effort needed to play a shielded Bastion - that is why people don't like him.

D.Va E, Winston shield, Reinhardt shield of your own, D.Va ult? I dunno, man, it kind of just sounds like you need a tank. Attacking emplaced defenses is what tanks are for.

Got a hatemail while using Mercy for using dmg buff on the one person on the team that was next to me at the time. Everyone else was scattered all over the level. lol. Now the message is stuck in my notifications with no way to delete it. Sony pls

Anyone else stuck in a permanent loop of skirmishes? The game repeatedly fails to find a game with enough players. What gives?

This is via Quick Play.

Does Hanzo have auto aim? People look like they're shooting into a random area and it hits me in the head lol

Big arrow hitboxes.

yep. apparently its to compensate for his weapon not being hit scan. imagine that. compensated so much that a "sniper" class hero doesnt even have to hit his target to kill them. its shit, but in the beta OT there were many people in favor of this. fuck if i know why.

This happened to me last night. My guess is that it's just a bunch of people leaving games and not going straight back in fast enough.

It was fine this afternoon though.

Am I the only one that is confused/irked that there is a distinction between "Eliminations" and "Kills" (i.e. "solo kills") in this game? Is there a difference? What the hell are "solo kills" anyway and how do they differ from "Eliminations" or assists? Blizzard, if you're worried about the children then just call everything eliminations and don't use the word "kill."

Even getting any skins from Loot boxes is pretty unlikely for me. I have zero expectations when I open them so when I get anything it's a nice surprise.

Eliminations are kills + kills you assisted in. So you get "eliminations" from doing damage and an ally finishing them off, or I think buffing allies to help them do damage? not sure

For some reason the other 5 people on my team went Tracer on Route 66 defense after I chose Lucio and I'm like "no thanks" and went Junkrat

They weren't good with tracer and insisted on sticking with her despite numerous, greasy deaths.

We won, but they pushed the payload most of the way

I pulled a guy playing Winston into that empty well thing with Roadhog so many times he switched to Roadhog to try and pull me in it and he eventually did and i wasn't even mad it was hilarious.

I love trying to get ring outs, this felt good earlier:

A shielded bastion means you are wasting 2 characters on it. Dont get me wrong its annoying and hard to crack, but certainly not "nothing you can do about it"

Fear is the mind killer.

People haven't learned how to approach it yet, so it's panic inducing. You're right though, pretty easy to overcome and there's probably a number of ways to do it.

I got to enjoy both sides Monday night,

We held Point B on Volskaya for almost 7 minutes as Bastion with a Secret Service Reinhardt who protected me like his children's lives were at stake, no OT, about 11k damage dealt 14 Elimination streak.

Then ended up on the other end of the exact same scenario about 5 matches later at Hanamura, We had an excellent Tracer who harassed the hell out of Reinhardt and I used Hanzo to snipe down the Bastion, couple of shields from Zarya meant we could break down that defense all night long.

I probably wouldn't have been that confident against it if I hadn't seen it from the other side. Problem was we still lost that Hanamura game because their Torbjorn was a surgeon.

By the way, everyone make sure you vote up players you were impressed with, teammate or not.

I hear lots of complaints about bad compositions, I don't think I've had a single match that was terribly one sided yet and the people I get matched with almost exclusively adjust for the composition warnings during team picks.

The only doubles I've encountered were double Mercy's on my team, and it was a thing of beauty.

I think a buffer gets an offensive assist score, not an elimination, at least from what I remember of playing Mercy earlier today.

Solo kills are when you kill someone and the number beside the "You eliminated *****" is 100, meaning you contributed 100% to their death.

Knocking (or pulling) people off cliffs to their death might be my favourite thing in the game. It's another one of the reasons I love Pyro in TF2. So satisfying firing a concussive blast and knocking people off, or pulling people into the well as Roadhog on Ilios.

I thought that too but if you go into the "Statistics" tab, there are different stats for "Eliminations," "Final Blows," "Defensive Assists," "Offensive Assists," "Recon Assists," and "Solo Kills." How are these all different?

Added my tag to the list for PC. Would be fun to group up with people. Haven't convinced any of my friends to get it yet lol. This game is a ton of fun! Crazy that Doom and this came out at the same time. Two awesome shooters that feel classic yet new at the same time. The Next Golden Age of First Persom Shooters just beginning?

I got POTG as Mercy earlier today, resurrecting 4 guys from Junkrat's ult, and then finished it by killing their Reinhart.
I was pretty proud of myself.

Hah, nice. I got it once with Mercy. I rezzed 2-3 people, then damage buffed Pharah right after when she did her Ult and got like five kill assists. No idea how someone didn't kill me before that cause I was almost entirely alone before the rez except for Pharah but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It seems like a team wipe is actually less effective than getting the other teams respawns staggered in the public matches, depending on the game type and side of course.

All 3 were attempted. Rein shield is shredded in seconds under fire from 2 Bastion making him worthless, Winston ult can make them scatter a little if done right but he doesn't last long under two miniguns. The most promising ended up being D.Va nuke chained with Mei freeze and Winston ult with Widowmaker cover fire, but by the end of that HEROES NEVER DIE and you're staring 2 angry Bastion tanks in the face as Reinhardt has just knocked you onto the floor.

I keep so many enemy bodies down there. Fucking hilarious as Roadhog.

That makes some sense but I still think it's weird that Blizzard didn't just commit to calling all kills "eliminations." If defeating an enemy is referred to as an "elimination" than it should be called "solo elimination." Might just be a pet peeve of mine, but it feels a bit incongruent.

Yeah, a team wipe can really be the perfect staging ground for a comeback, assuming there's enough time left to get back to the objective.

Switching to Lucio after a wipe can help immensely too.

What's great is they always shoot at you from the other side over and over expecting a different outcome.

I laughed at this gif for about 30 seconds straight.

I have to try this next time i do this map. I have done similar things with Lucio and soundwave on a few maps including this when they try to push around that first building you skate up and wave them the fuck off.

I really honestly feel that some people just don't know what they're doing in this game.

I never played the beta, I've never been a fan of shooters before but I think the game makes it clear what the objectives are in any given map. Capturing a point is not helped by people going off and trying to get kills, same goes for escorting a payload.

It has become seriously frustrating in random games.

Not sure if that's normal or not but Doom is the same way right now it seems. Might not be as rare or insane as it initially appears.

Yeah maybe. I was just pointing a friend to the physical copy to get and noticed it. Not sure how rare or random it is.

Edit: Though the Amazon version of Doom doesn't appear to be sold out. If you scroll over the Amazon one for Overwatch you get an "out of stock" message.

A few questions for other PS4 players:

- When someone asks for an invite, and it says press Y or N, how the heck do accept it?

- Is there no way to leave a lobby with your whole group? Everyone I've been playing with has just been quitting and reinviting.

These have all most likely been answered before, but this thread moves so fast.
And my work blocked NeoGAF. ;_;

Also, I feel like I'm weird for not really ever being frustrated with this game. Even when we get wrecked by some cheese strategy or something, I'm still having fun trying to figure out what I should've done, and eagerly looking forward to the next game.

There is no way to leave as a group on console. From what I know, funny enough, you can leave as a group on PC, but if you're using a controller instead of KB/M, the option doesn't appear. Pester Blizzard to put it in, because I'm getting sick of us always having to leave and reform.

To the frustration comment, I think my occasional frustration comes from feeling like I'm doing everything humanly possible to help my team, but they're just not pulling any weight. I mean one time I had a team of three Torbjorns and two Widows. What am I supposed to do with that?
