Persona 4: Arena |OT| Midnight's Just Around The Corner

So which character is the best "all around" that can rushdown/zone/keepaway? I tend to prefer characters that can zone and rushdown tilting toward rushdown. I was planning on maining Brosuke, but I'll try any other character that fits my playstyle.

Sounds like you might prefer Aigis. She's a stance character that alternates between Zonining/keepaway outside of Origia mode, and rushdown inside of Origia mode. Big Meter management tho.

Yukiko's a more tradtional keepaway character, but she's heavily reliant on her Persona. Akihiko's a rushdown character.

I recommend looking over the characters at Dustloop, and looking up some high level play for your characters.

Thanks, I'll probably try them all out. I think I'll gravitate towards Yosuke, Aigis, and Yu.

Not that shocking, Naoto is pretty much the BBCT carl of the game

Nice to see Chie holding up high with her lock down abilities people blasting her cause she lost the broken ass 5b fatal counter and dropping her down a ton was pretty stupid

Overall the game is like GG or KoF where the tiers dont matter THAT MUCH although I'll say Mitsuru is the eddie of this game

what makes him bro-like though? He just seems like Junpei, constantly getting shit on, but not as cool.

In the game, he feels like a true best friend. (P4 spoilers kinda)
He was totally cool with being second banana to you...unlike Junpei who gets jealous of you (you find out that Yosuke gets jealous as you play his Slink, but he's not an ass about it.)

Also, without thinking too deep here, he had a sense of honor that Junpei never really seemed to have. He almost kind of feels like the lead in the game because he's always taking the prerogative. He can be a creep and an ass, but never to the degree that Junpei was.

That made Junpei feel more realistic and even closer as a bro by the end of it imo.

attempts to search my porn stash. A big bro no-no.

Traditionally, Arc fighting games have super-powered version of characters as unlockables, and they also tend to appear in story, arcade and survivor modes. No reason to think that they're going to break with tradition here.

Broken, Dark-Phoenix level versions of regular characters. Good for messing around with friends.

Wait, what? So do they have more moves or just better frame data? If everybody has them why not just play with Unlimited characters?

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.

When you see Unlimited Tager running at you, you'll know true fear.

Whoops, not the video I'm looking for.

They are basicly what if versions of characters, designed broken as fuck and not balanced on purpose. Makoto in blazblue literally got dudely's move set for her Unlimited complete with Dempsey roll super that did 100% life damage. Oh and she get's the sf3 makoto's kick super lol

In guilty gear, sol get's his old GG1 moveset back with tweaks

Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPwLnQjZdcw This video is better

Broadly speaking, they get massive buffs, new moves and no downsides, and sometimes buffs out of nowhere (e.g. Unlimited Hazama: damages you as long as you're standing near him along with the usual stupid quantities of buffs)
To answer the second question, because they're banned outside of friends matches precisely because they're so horribly broken. And hey, it's not every fighting game that'll let you have the opportunity to control essentually SNK boss-grade characters.
