Persona 5 Review Thread

Lol, you know that's P5 Dancing till Dusk though. Atlus gotta reap that sweet, sweet Persona spin-off money.

Here's to hoping though. I'd be so excited if they atleast confirmed stuff like the tone and color scheme of P6.

Considering that Hashino most likely won't be heading P6, I'm actually quite concerned for the future of this series.

I hope the color scheme of P5 is like the colour of a night full of stars.

Given how well the P4 stuff did, I have no doubt that we are going to get a P5 game universe

Great scores as expected. Sadly I'm choosing to not even buy this until I finish a certification I'm working on. :(

I caved and pre-ordered the steelbook on Amazon.

I'm not sure if I'll open it yet. Only just started Mass Effect, and I have Yakuza to finish... I may send it back, but I just want to have it in my hands after such a long wait.

Who am I kidding, I won't be sending it back.

That boost from glorious reviews.

P3 and P4 were released within like 2 years of each other, and I recall P5 taking so long because they built the engine from scratch. If they use the same engine for P6, I can see it coming out sooner than later. At least it shouldn't take another 8 goddamn years.

This looks too anime for me

Fair enough I suppose.

Well I had hoped to finish Zelda before P5 but life comes at you fast.

Hope my CE is here when I get off work on Tueaday.

Shallow question but does the game have any missable trophies?

A 100-hour story with missable trophies will just let me know not even dream of the platinum.

True. It depends on if he has someone in mind to replace him. And I feel like Atlus would be keeping close reins on their cash cow for P6 so the worst we might get is a by the numbers Persona... Hopefully. I do want to give the new director a chance but he or she has a ton to live up to.

I feel like that's reserved more for the SMT series tho. Persona is bright, strong colors starting with P2.

Can you imagine a crossover with the MCU? Dancing with Spiderman? Social-Link dating Thor? Get on this Atlus, it'd be GAF's GOTY every single year!

So, should I get Persona 5 (would be my first Persona) or Nier Automata then?

Both.

Get through NieR first.

Bro, I been preordered since July.

Worries me because all the P4 spinoffs have been either bland or sometimes even missed the point.

My slight beef with P5 is that it already feels like a refinement of the formula, instead of a rethinking. A purposefully conservative P6 is almost a worst case scenario.

The steelbook edition is the same price as the normal edition? That might actually get me to buy the game. It worked for Valkyria Chronicles Remastered too.

The reviewer from jeuxvideo.com will make a live streaming where he explains why he "only" gave P5 a 17/20. People insulted him on their forum. This is nuts.

I haven't played a single Persona 4 spin off. Golden good ending is just perfect. I don't need any of them, so I just ignored them.

I wanna get this for my PS4 eventually, but in the mean time I'm wondering if my sis might like it. She enjoys RPGs for the story aspects but is pretty bad about learning game systems. Is there a way for someone to get through the game without ever taking the time to learn the combat?

Zelda already has it locked. Persona 5 will have to settle for second place unless RDR 2 comes out this year (it won't.)

Zelda will probably win the most, but P5/Nioh/Nier/Horizon/RDR2/Odyssey/SoW will all get at least scattered awards, and maybe even a good chunk of them. There's also probably 1 or 2 annual/semi-annual franchises that will have unusually strong entries this year and end up competing.

This is going to be a hell of a year.

Theres a Safety difficulty mode. For people who just want to enjoy the story :)
