Wow, never thought I'd say this but fuck you Atlus. Holy shit. This is worse than the annoying watermarks on SE's shares.

Never understood the reasoning for those watermarks if it isn't a beta or something.
Aye.Zelda will probably win the most, but P5/Nioh/Nier/Horizon/RDR2/Odyssey/SoW will all get at least scattered awards, and maybe even a good chunk of them. There's also probably 1 or 2 annual/semi-annual franchises that will have unusually strong entries this year and end up competing.
This is going to be a hell of a year.
Super close to a 95 (though we still have some lower reviews yet to be added which will bring it down a notch).
How the hell is World of Goo so high? Got that for free with my Wii and didn't even find it fun.
Honestly glad to hear that the DT review won't count towards the MC score. (My bet was 95 after all)
Assuming no other scores before the EDGE review, the unweighted MC will be 94.21 once that is added.
So I've never played a Persona game before, but these reviews are making me interested in the game. A couple questions first.
1. Is it true that if you mainline the game's story, it'll take 100 hours?
2. Does the game have an over world?
3. Are there random battles?
4. Is most of the story reading like in Zelda or voiced like most games today?

Does Games Master UK (they gave it a 95) count? I think it's still missing from Metacritic.

GamesMaster counts, yes. It's a magazine publication, which might be why it hasn't been added to the list yet.
1 - Yes but I think 80 might be a safer bet depending on how well you maximize your time.
2 - Kinda. You have a town / city you spend a lot of time in doing day to day stuff as well as a lot of story stuff. The spit works you got the town for the school / real world stuff and then you go into dungeons for the JRPG battling stuff which is corridors and levels.
3 - You see enemies pre battle and can avoid them or sneak up on them for a advantage at the start of battle
4 - Mostly voiced with some text only bits for less important things.
1. it depends on how you play. It's a bit longer than your typical JRPG and average is probably around 70~80 hours I guess? I usually play slow and it took me 142 hours to beat it.
2. overworld in a sense of PS1-era world map where you freely move around? No. It has a map where you can select cursor to go to places you want to go.
3. no it has symbol encounter
4. Lot of main story stuff is voiced, although not all. Most of side stuff are not voiced.
Yeah, only one on GameFAQs, max confidants and then some.

That dude put some real good effort into the guide.
Thanks for the responses. The length is kinda scaring me. RPGs I typically like are 30-50 hours max.
Also what is a dungeon? Like is there a comparison it to them in anything in Horizon Zero Dawn or The Witcher 3?
Good to know, thanksTheres a Safety difficulty mode. For people who just want to enjoy the story
I've been working with cj_iwakura on the OT. (Assets/editing/formatting, etc.)
It's not good enough? Hmm... Better graphics, better story, better gameplay than any of those games. I don't see nothing till RDR2 contending with those categories.
Every time Zelda is mentioned it comes along with the downplaying of another game and I seriously don't get it.
Is it April 4 yet?
Can't focus on work and cant focus on other games either.

That really sucks about sharing pictures. A 100 hour game should have plenty of nonspoiler content that can be shared.
Seriously, can't play anything and get into it. All I can think of is Persona 5.

People are making Zelda become that guy nobody wants to hangout with cause he brags all the time, but does only cause he picks up the tab. lol

Edit: seriously tho, talking goty, it's more contenders this year. Zelda, Horizon, P5, and others personal favorite. It'll be hard for any one game.
It's an area with a specific theme attached to it where most of the fighting happens.
Imagine a building, with different rooms and corridors, puzzles and enemies doing patrols. At the end of said dungeon there is a room with a boss fight.
There is a casino inspired dungeon at the very beginning, for example.
Does this help?
Game is great, and came out before there were a lot of high profile indie games. It has a ton of charm for a puzzle game. Well for any game actually, but it being a puzzle game makes it more impressive. There also weren't that many great non-Nintendo games for the Wii, so maybe the good ones stood out more. How the hell is World of Goo so high? Yeah this was disappointing to say the least. Don't understand the strategy because that's quite late. Don't see many buying at launch not being done by then.
The strategy is clearly them wanting people to buy outfits, instead of getting them for free. Notice how all of the paid stuff will be available within a month of the game's release.
