X05 is in Europe, but as always MS does not forget to give the stuff to the US sites first.
Still, great looking screens.

this looks amazing as a whole, but what i can't get over is the grille on the back of that lamborghini. i don't like pgr or 30fps racing games, but now i kind of want this instead of the very underwhelming rr6.

*spooge*

If these launch games have the rest of their stuff in order (framerate, gameplay, sound, etc) good lordy!

Graphics: check

now just waiting to hear how the games actually play and sound.

Most of these are from photo mode but if you have watched the ingame videos they have put out the driver side viewpoint is completely ingame what you see. The game is beautiful, definitely the best looking game so far.

You would think photomode and in game would be identical right ? seeing as though AA is free ?

One of those recent videos goes through and shows you the photomode. All it does is let you adjust the camera around the car and add cheesy FXs like sepia tone and such if you want. It does not add any more polys to the cars nor make the textures better.

Another words, it's nothing like GT4's Photomode.

GT4's photomode only adds more polys to the car when you're just placing it in the preset locations. If you're taking photos from the racing portion its just added effects, no extra polys.

Anyway this looks great, the car modeling is incredible.

I thought it also bumps up the resolution and textures and then adds AA for the racing portion as well.

The difference in the photo mode for GT4 and ingame was night and day. i dont care what techincal terms ppl use...if you played the game you know how big a difference it was.

It does that (thats just what I considered extra effects), but it doesn't add any extra polys to the cars.

Well then that's still way different than the PGR3 photo mode since resolution, textures, AA and such don't change.

You can't take anything away from an incredible-looking game like this. But of all genres, racing games get away with probably the easiest job, which is why this game destroys everything else at launch. Look what PD pulled off in GT4. This game sports like 8x as much geometry and sick effects. Yeah...it's gonna look fucking sweet. :D I still maintain that racing games will show the least improvement between the 360 and PS3, though. If you want to discuss diminishing returns, it's gotta be here. I do imagine car fields will increase greatly, and that we'll see some small improvements in car models. Maybe some dynamic reflections of car-on-car. But PGR3 is probably a great taste of what we can expect this gen. Fucking sweet ass. :D :D :D PEACE.
