Phil has addressed this directly in an interview. The reporter says something along the lines of "Sony has better first party exclusives, as of now". Phil recognized MS has to do better, but said he didn't want to copy any IPs. Instead he wants to create new ones of High quality

Like with the PS5 show we should all go in with lowered expectations and then be pleasantly surprised when we get 2 or 3 decent games out of the event. :)

If we get more than 2 or 3 good games shown then all the better.
 
I would like to see xsex only games. Since this won't hapen, I hope they present really cool games, an incredible halo infinite and one or 2 surprise new titles that raise the hype.
Most of it in gameplay.

Ooh he confirmed Flight Simulator for Series X. Nice as there has been some confusion on whether it was PC only.
He also talks a bit about dimisihing returns, he doesnt use that term, but he basically suggests the jump wont be as big as some hope.:messenger_smirking:

I hope to God they purchase Asobo just for rights to that engine.

I'm actually the opposite with more games from the Sony event appealing to me more.

YES.

I'm not an xbox fan but Phil gets a + in my book for wanting new IPs.

This is what I'm most excited for is seeing new stuff from MS in a new gen.
 
Shit webcam feeds and indy games was part of the strategy that will make the July event seem awesome even if it's mediocre. Smart.
 
Did anyone watch the Apple developer event this week? It was a pretty impressive presentation. A lot better than what other companies have been doing for their Covid presentations.

Nice interview. Phil is just a nice guy. It's rare really to see a person in his position in a large company that don't just talk corporate.
 
Can't wait to see Halo 17 and Gears of War 25.

Hopefully, they show games made by more than 1 Dev. Scor looks interesting.

I really hope this is the content blow out we all want. I know they have lots of games in development and I want to see them. Keep it tight, limit the development/PR team talks, just wow me with Halo, Fable, Forza and friends. 30-45min of wam bam thank you ma'am.

I thought Uncharted was done? I haven't played it past Uncharted 1. Scorn is coming to PC as well right? Looked interesting.

That's one thing Sony got right.

Probably about half of the Inside Xbox stream was people talking utter bollocks in fake, PR voices.
"We errr seww eksiiitedddd to show you nyyeeeewww expeeeriieenzzesss"

Yeah, I mean I recognize that he is still a CEO, so Budget Department Overhead, and Return on investment will always come before consumer's experience, but you can see a 180° in Xbox since Don M has left. I feel like Phil is an actual Gamer that worked his way up the corporate ladder for over a Decade. He reminds me of Cerny a bit

In a perfect world we would get a uploaded 4K 60 video followed by a live stream afterward of Major Nelson interviewing developers while showing B-roll footage. I dont know why they complicate things so much.
 
Has it been confirmed July is SOLELY first party stuff shown?

If this show is the following, I'll be happy:

- first party focus, or at most a bit of third party heavy hitters tossed in. No big swaths of indie games
- Lockhart shown
- Price of the Seagate external SSD card
- Prices for both SeX and Lockie
- Launch date

Leaks have already confirmed that it's 1st party focused, but to expect some 3rd party. I'm thinking more 3rd party exclusives like Scorn/the medium to mis up the halo, Hellblade and (hopefully)Fable


Also good point I had completely forgotten about the expandable SSD. Can't imagine it being less than $150
 
looking forward to this event, be good to see if the SSD super speed of PS5 is as good as they say or that as always TF actually matter more as we will have a direct comparison in games
 
They start the event with some crappy webcam and then switch to a 4k camera while saying "this is the difference between xone and sex".

Ill explain further. I dont feel that their newly acquired first party has had enough time to create AAA large scale projects.

So far theyve only shown smaller titles, what people refer to as GP filler.

So my curiosity was if they were going to throw people a bone and say look this is what were working on but it wont be ready for a few years so hang tight.

How this coule be percieved as console warring is beyond me.
