Before moving to another flat (and getting more space for a new TV) I got the new monitor for my Macbook (lots of video/photo editing). I use it for Xbox 360 mostly now (while PS3 still sits around my old 37' 720p LG) and wait for 29th of November.
The model is AOC i2757Fm. The reviews for so great and the price is so low that I couldn't resist

The quality of image and also responsiveness is very OK (like 9/10). I use external speakers and headphones so the speakers are not the problem.

I don't have a time frame for mine but I'm assuming it is the same for me as well. Already picked out my first 3D movie, Pacific Rim
What I'm real excited is the DLNA and various ways to watch movies. USB, miracast, DLNA, etc. Gonna be real fun.
I believe it is just as good as the S60. The w900a is better with regards to input lag but I think the difference is just 20ms or so.

I just got the W900A for gaming, as I decided it wasn't worth risking the burn-in on my ZT60 given the retention issues my set has as I mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm lucky in that I only had to pay cost for it given that my friend owns a home theater installation company.
TV looks great and the blacks are nice enough, although compared to the ZT and my Kuro there is a difference. I'd have no issues with having it as my sole TV. The only complaint I have, and it's not really relevant since I sit dead center, but the viewing angles on the TV are limited, even for an LED/LCD set. The colors get washed out if you are too far off center. Still, as I said, even if I was using it for my movie and TV viewing, it wouldn't be an issue, and I could easily fit 3 people on the couch in front of it without anyone being outside of the non affected viewing angle.
I was really tempted to go for the 65" version, the S900A, but my friend talked me out of it since I hadn't seen a curved screen yet, and I would have felt bad about the hassle of having to return it to him if I wasn't happy. Plus, my stairs have a brutal turn that makes it tough to get a 60" TV up, even unboxed, let alone a 65". Now, if I could just keep my cats from batting the screen everytime I try to play a game, I'd be in good shape.

I also wouldn't mind an all inclusive setting for automation plus that removes some of the artifacts on the screen when controlling the camera.

Have been thinking of buying that monitor. What's your experience with it? How does it look compared to the tv or monitor you had before it. Any lag? Have you encountered any problems?
Resolution is fantastic and the displays can be amazing, too, but without native content it's really hard to justify at this point.

I haven't done a bunch of research yet but the sales guy said something about this Samsung being able to upscale images, bs or does it do a decent noticeable job?
I may hold off until after new years right before Destiny/Titanfall/Second Son drop. Has anyone done any PS4 gaming on a 4k tv yet?...results?

I saw a blu ray upscaled on the Sony 4K TV and it looked very nice. I'd really like to know how 1080p games look upscaled on a 4K TV though.

Cause I really want to pull the trigger on this TV, but I'm thinking it MIGHT drop in price on friday. It's already pretty cheap and part of the "countdown to black friday".
All displays scale the source content to the native panel resolution. So even SD will be 'upscaled' to 4k on a native 4k display. Won't look anything like proper 4k source material though, and neither will scaled 1080p.
I had a look at the Sony 4k over the weekend which was running a native 4k demo. Looked very nice but didn't hit me like the leap from SD to 1080p. The W902 next to it held it's own I felt.
I'm more interested in what better display technology will bring over the next couple of years than another resolution leap. I'd take reasonably priced 1080p OLED over a 4k LED.

I have no first hand experience, but I expect 1080p scaled to 4k will look worse--much like 720p scaled to 1080p looks far worse than native 720p.

I currently have an xbox 360 and a 720p TV.
When I buy my 1080p TV, will my xbox 360 games look worse?
Dear specialists, I'm looking to buy a no-frills TV in the 32"-40" range size-wise, and around 500 budget-wise. I don't care if it does 3D or Smart TV, I just want it to play nice with my PS3/PS4 (so 1080p and minimum lag) and not waste space (thin bezel request by the wife). I currently use an ugly 6-year-old Samsung, but I could switch brands for the right TV. Can you give me any pointers/suggestions? I'm in France, by the way, so model numbers might vary slightly.

Alright you fine feathered ladies and gents, thanks to you, I'm now the soon to be proud owner of a P50S60. Been asked an answered a million times I'm sure, but what's the final say on the slide show? I don't think the guy at B3D has created a setting for this particular display. Still a good idea?
I picked up the Disney WOW disc and was planning to run it through that.

I'm looking at some sound bars to accompany this beauty, and while my mind easily gets distracted by shiny dangling words like DTS HD Master audio, and Dolby True HD, they don't really serve a point on a $350 2.1 setup do they? Should I save myself $90 and just get the lower end model that supports DTS surround and Pro-logic II? (not that a 2.1 can even utilize those).

If you are impatient like me, you can bypass the slides and be smart about what you watch. If you game, find games that you can turn off the hud. Dark Souls and killzone 2 and 3 can have their huds turned off and God of War games have their hud disappear when out of combat. I don't have a bit library and didn't try any other of my games.
If you watch tv, zoom in so that the channel indicators are off the screen. Hell, I still do this with some channels because their logo is terrible (E! and cartoon network are awful).
From what I've seen they are using W6, W8 and W9 models.

I've got about 2000 hours on my S60 using these settings so YMMV but it should help get you towards a setting you like for your setup. I would Keep the Pro W/B detail adjustment and Color detail adjustment settings at around 0 value if you have a newer set than mine with fewer hours or you have any issues with these settings. Gamma might be better around 2.2 or 2.4 also depending on your ability to control the light in your room. Hope it helps.

I wasn't sure actually, I saw that it dropped from $700 to $650 and was like ooh, I can justify lol. I have no idea how fast they're producing these and what-not.
it's possible, but it goes one of two ways, I think.
1) It stays the same in price at retailers because they know people are buying them before they sell out.
2) The drop a little in price and then people snag them up right away.
I would say be prepared to buy one no later than Dec 1 or risk paying more at some 3rd party retailer or searching a Best Buy that might still have them. I remember somebody on AVSForum talking about how some insider told them December is when we'll start seeing them dry up.
AVSForum has the slides and some various setting for this display. I'd look there.
so is the S60 supposed to be the best plasma for gaming? it seems well-liked around the internet. it doesn't have 3d though, does it? if not, is there a standard plasma 3dtv that is the most ideal for gaming?

Been burning in my VT65 watching a tonne of content. Just waiting on the PS4 now and Shadow Fall to give me that graphical feast for the eyes. My ISF calibrator is coming a few days before the games release, so I'll be posting full settings once mine is calibrated, both Night, Day and 3D settings.

My only regret on the P50S60 is the lack of 3D, I still have that Sony 3d playstation display if I absolutely have to try somethign in 3d
Update: Bought the TV. Anyone know where I can get some good calibration settings?

My JVC projector is "4K Lite" but from what I've seen, it looks great! I haven't noticed any negative PQ artifacts while gaming. Though everything looks amazing on it, so I don't know what else to say. I'm selling it, and waiting for a "native" 4K projector that's under $10K.

my 720p set finally died. looking to get something between 50-65 for general use and gaming and would like to spend $1500 or less. will be going to the city on sat to check out sets in person and am currently leaning towards a panasonic s60 mainly due to price, picture quality, and low input lag, but VERY concerned about using it during the day with glare. any other suggestions?

Just swapped my Sony W900 for my ST60. So happy I did so. I don't notice the input lag at all coming from the Sony and the PQ on the Panny is just bananas. All that at a full thousand less than the Bravia.
