To be fair, I really do enjoy the console at present. I won't go into all the issues with the system, as there are quite a few. Some of the ones listed do irk the daylights out of me and are just not very well thought out design wise (but look great when at arms length.)
I'm really hesitant to judge the PS4 right now, because for all that the rumors said that MS was scrambling to get their system into a usable state by launch, the PS4 currently feels like a lot was pushed off/sacrificed/left awkward in the name of getting things done by launch. Aside from the coming later stuff that we know about, things like the OS behavior during the SEN issues that you mentioned that just feel like unfinished. Like, I honestly can't believe Sony designed the OS intentionally knowing it would behave this way, and it feels more like it's something they know isn't a game-breaker so they let it slide for now and will fix later. The joys of launch, and all.
I'm really enjoying my time with the system so far, and the only thing I think I'm going to find frustrating that I don't think will eventually be fixed is the lack of a USB port on the back and that's only because my USB flash drive is one of those rugged all-weather ones and is too chunky to fit in the USB ports we have.
The controller is such a huge step up from the DS3; it's probably my favorite improvement so far. I will love it even more once they let me turn the stupid light bar off.
