PlayStation Experience 2015 Thread: The Year of Dreams

My prediction from the other thread of a big announcement:

Here's how it's gonna go down: Mark Cerny on stage - "everybody look under your seats". A ripple of excitement passes through the audience. Why is there a strange red and yellow fruit under here? Iconic drums kick in. Cerny puts on a wooden mask with feathers. A trailer starts to play. The crowd gasps.

It's Knack 2

But I'll take it, lol.

it kinda sucks that in my mind theres more hope for a crash game being announced then some more p5 gameplay that actually shows a dungeon battle smh

I doubt we will get any big megatons. We have to be realistic, seeing as how they have already dropped a ton during this year's other conferences. That said, i'm still hyped. Last PSX was a ton of fun to watch. It definitely got my Playstation fanboy blood pumping

My predictions from the other thread:

  • Sony talking about Destiny, Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars: Battlefront, and how all of them have been a success on the PlayStation 4 platform.
  • We're getting updates on Final Fantasy VII (PC port) and Fat Princess Adventures, both get release dates but are not released today.
  • Sony mentions the PS2 classics coming to PS4 as announced the other day, showing more of the upcoming games on a image full of logos.
  • Yakuza 5 goes up on PSN before the end of the month. Yakuza 1+2 coming to PS4 as PS2 classics.
  • Extended Uncharted 4 cut of the trailer shown during The Game Awards, which also leads to an in-game demonstration of a city-based level.
  • Sony Bend will show off their project
  • Sony Santa Monica will show a teaser of Kratos and a God of War IV logo.

Everything that won't be there:

  • Final Fantasy XII: HD Remaster, Level-5 RPG, Ace Combat 7, Onimusha, Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy VII: Remake, Gran Turismo Sport, Wild, The Tomorrow Children, Rime, Detroit.
  • No PlayStation VR release date, price or launch line-up.
  • No firmware talk.
  • No PSN name change feature discussed.

I'm afraid an excited at the same. It's times like these where if the presentation disappoints I may just go to sleep for the rest of the day lol. Hope for the best.

Crash
Agent
MGSV Episode 3
Red Dead Revengence
Silent Hills
Orange Box 2
The Winds of Winter

Hopefully at least God of War 4

Here is my predictions for the event :). Likely wrong on all fronts, but hopeful some of them happen :D.

-Show opens with GT Sport, Horizon, Last Guardian or Dreams trailer; new and has content not shown during E3
-Sony members come on stage and start the event
-Sony Bend members come on stage and say "We have been working on this for a long time but we are proud to share this with you all tonight". They walk off the stage and footage of their new IP for PS4 is shown off. Trailer ends with a 'Fall 2016' release date
-Sucker Punch then comes on stage and shares how much they loved working with the Infamous IP and say "We would love to work with an iconic superhero that swings around NYC, and thanks to Marvel and Sony, we are working on a game featuring Spider-Man". Trailer starts, showing off Spidey swinging all over NYC, with the trailer ending with him going toe-to-toe with the Ryno. Trailer ends and Sucker Punch says "We can't wait to share more about this with you guys and have a great PSX :D!".
-MM comes on stage and shows of Project Dreams, but through level content, not create-mode content. Ends with promise of a Beta releasing early 2016
-Sony says "As you can see, all of our studios are hard at work on projects and we can't wait to share more about them in the future. But we would like to share what our third party partners are bring to PlayStation Nation in the future."
-Starts with Sony talking about their indie partners and giving them screen time
-More info on Rime and No Mans Sky is shown off; both are supporting PS VR.
-Talk about upcoming titles, and their cross-buy support.
-Capcom comes on stage and shows off gameplay of RE2 Remake and announces a 'big' project is coming only to PlayStation in the future
-Capcom closes their part of the show with SFV news and it ends with Tiffa from FFVII joining the roster as a guest fighter.
-Square Enix comes on stage and states "FFVII is an important game to us at Square and we want to celebrate it throughout the next two years. As you can see, we have Tiffa joining SFV as an example of this. To make fans at home happy, you can get FFVII on PS4, PS3 & PS Vita for free for the next two days :D! We also have another treat for you all as well. Take a look."
-Trailer for FFVII Remake plays; in-engine footage of Cloud fighting creatures and exploring a more open Midgar.
-Bamco comes on stage next and announces two games many gamers have wanted is finally getting localized; God Eater Resurrection and 2: Rage Burst are releasing next year on PS Vita and PS4.
-(Not Likely)- Kojima then comes on stage and tells everyone that he is working with Sony on a big project, in the styling Japanese Horror. Everyone gets very excited and Hills of Silence is announced for PS4 and PS VR.
-Activision then comes on stage and announces a new Platinum game TMNT: Mutians of Mathattan. This mirrors the style of their Transformers game but with the TMNT branding. Releasing in Summer 2016.
-Before they leave the stage, they talk about old IP's being brought back, noting Kings Quest and Gematry Wars. They then invite Shu on stage, asking him "What is the most iconic mascot of the PS1 era to you?" He says "Crash Bandicoot of course!" Activision rep smirks and says "Well, here he is; Crash is back with PlayStation!"
-Trailer appears on screen, with the iconic Crash theme playing in the background. HD Visuals, new level designs, new gimmicks and more are shown off. Crash Bandicoot Returns is the title of the game, having a fall 2016 release date.
-Sony invites Sanzaru Games and Naughty Dog to the stage, and the ND rep says "We are working with Sanzaru in making this game and we are very excited about this; Crash is home again."
-Before they leave, Sony announces the entire Crash and Spyro series on the PS1 and PS2 is releasing on PS4 and PS Vita throughout 2016.
-GT Sport Trailer is shown off and it ends with PD promising a beta early 2016.
-Naughty Dog comes back on stage to show off a new demo for UC4
-Show is about to end but Santa Monica comes on stage and says "The God of War is back!" A teaser trailer for God of War IV is shown off.

I would be happy with one legit good surprise like Yakuza 5 last year and the rest being predictable.

It feels too early for another From Software announcement, even if just a Demon's remaster, though PSX would be the right crowd for that, and since "what is From doing for Sony" is my main question, I am just along for the ride today.

With the recent news about ps2 classics I expect ridge racer, giant enemy crabs, real time weapon change, ridge racer, and five ninety nine you ess dollars

I would go into this just expecting a fun time for people who like games.

New games get shown and we win. Enjoy the show for what it is. A celebration of games for fans.

I remember last year's showcase being exceptionally disappointing, so people should probably keep their expectations low. I can't wait to spend 5 minutes hearing about all the PS4 exclusive Destiny content!
