has anyone else experienced the "cannot access the memory card" issue when playing anything digital with a 64gb memory card? tried googling and no one seems to have an answer how to fix it, only noticed it in the last couple weeks since i mainly play physical games
I recommend you do the following;
-Take your memory card out and blow on the golden strips on the bottom of the card
-Take your memory card out and blow into the slot that holds it
-Re-build your data base and re-set your Vita
-Let the Vita die and let it stay 'dead' for a few hours, then re-charge it and turn it one
-Look through your settings and see how much space you have left
-Contact Sony and explain your issue to them; they will ask if you can send your Vita and/or Memory Card in
-Buy a new memory card for now
Some of those options aren't great but I hope this helps you somehow.
i'll try up to step 4 tonight, i checked the storage before and i think 1.3-1.5gb is free
contacting sony one might leave me at a dead end since the 64gb memory card isn't available anywhere officially outside of japan and that would make it exempt from any warranties but i've also contacted the ebayer i bought it from and hopefully i should recieve a reply about it some time next week
Sometimes I wonder if the 32 and 64 cards have a higher failure rate or if it is simply the case of more rabid, vocal Vita owners having them. You rarely hear about someone's 8 or 16 messing up though.
I don't know where an appropriate place to ask this would be, and since I was juniored, I can't make a thread.
Do you guys think it's worth it to trade my Wii U for a Vita?
They're the same price in Canada (assuming you're buying the refurb Wii U)
Vita comes with
- P4G
- Ys: Memories of Celceta
- Lumines: Electronic Symphony
- WipeOUT: 2048
- Sly Cooper 4
- Shinobido 2
- Some shittier games like PSABR, UNit 13, Dungeon Hunter, etc
- 3 memory cards
- Carrying case
- Game Card case
- Charger/USB cable
- Screen protector
Wii U I'd be trading comes with
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
- Digital copies of Pikmin 3, NSMBU, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (have 4 for 2DS anyways) and MK8
- Some VC games
- 3 amiibo (Mega Man, Samus, Toon Link)
- 2 Pro Controllers
- A WiiMote with nunchuk
- Power cables and sensor bar
I've been trying to sell the Wii U for 2/3rds of a year and this is the best offer I've ever gotten :\
What you're trading is worth more than what you're getting, unless those 3 memory cards are like 32GB.

As you can see, the Vita is home to lots of games of all kinds and I strongly recommend picking one up .
And I will repeat what I said a few times in the past; I personally believe the PS Vita is a much healthier console in comparison to the Wii U. So, the trade off you are making is well worth it . Just make sure you pick up a 16-32GB Memory card and a year of Plus and you are set with the Vita .
I'm actually most interested in playing indie games and JRPGs/shameless fan service games on the go
The Vita has that in spades !
The indie game line up on Vita is massive and what I own only scratches the surface of what the Vita has. Take a look into this thread if you want to find out about the future games coming to Vita....300+ games are coming to the platform across the next year or two .
I also just had a look at another site to see what confirmed release dates are for the year... These seem to be the biggest releases for the next year.
These seem to be the confirmed releases for the west up until the end of the year for both systems?
How's the UMvC3 port?
I don't know where an appropriate place to ask this would be, and since I was juniored, I can't make a thread.
Do you guys think it's worth it to trade my Wii U for a Vita?
They're the same price in Canada (assuming you're buying the refurb Wii U)

- P4G
- Ys: Memories of Celceta
- Lumines: Electronic Symphony
- WipeOUT: 2048
- Sly Cooper 4

- Some shittier games like PSABR, UNit 13, Dungeon Hunter, etc

Wii U I'd be trading comes with
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
- Digital copies of Pikmin 3, NSMBU, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (have 4 for 2DS anyways) and MK8
- Some VC games
- 3 amiibo (Mega Man, Samus, Toon Link)
- 2 Pro Controllers
- A WiiMote with nunchuk
- Power cables and sensor bar
I've been trying to sell the Wii U for 2/3rds of a year and this is the best offer I've ever gotten :\

dude that's a steal, sell right now
You're definitely losing out. And don't sell/trade your WiiU. There are so many great games on it. Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda U aren't even out yet.

That's an awful, awful bargain. Not even wearing my Ultimate Nintendo Fanboy hat when I say this. Unless those three memory cards are 64 GB of course.
I'm getting conflicting messages here.
Also, I'm going to do it, I think. I've played through all the titles I've wanted to on Wii U (had SM3DW, but gave it to a friend and had Bayo 2 but did a GAFaway for it)
I'm not interested in Splatoon, and if I want to scratch the MMO itch, I already have WoW or FFXIV to sink my teeth into, along with a JRPG fix from Steam or PSN
Plus, Vita has Digimon, Binding of Isaac, Geometry Wars, Dragon Quest Heroes 2/Builders, a bunch of VNs, etc coming out... Those are more interesting to me at this point than Mario Tennis, Xenoblade, Star Fox (which I think will get a port to their next platform or handheld anyways), etc
If you can find me a better solution out, I'd love to hear it lol. I have no real use for the Wii U anymore and I've been trying to get cash for it forever. :/
What happens in 2016 though, Zelda, SMTxFE and Xenoblade X are enough to pass off on getting a console with a whole new wave of software? I mean, he/she states that they own a 2DS, so they got there Nintendo fix through that :l. I know that is why I'm not interested in the Wii U (as there is a lot of over-lap between the 3DS and Wii U).
Besides, I'm sure the NX will be BC with the Wii U regardless, so if he/she decides to trade in the Wii U in favor of a Vita with tons of value (MC's being included is a steal XD!), he/she can get a those games for the NX latter on if he/she is interested in getting them.
Don't mean to be negative or anything, but after this E3, I'm a bit more negative whenever Nintendo comes into the discussion and that mixed with my love of the Vita....leads me to favor the Vita a lot more then Nintendo right now :l.

The Vita has a lot of great stuff coming in the future, so if you do decide to trade in the Wii U for a Vita, I hope you enjoy it !
If you want the best deal, maybe talk to some people on NeoGaf and see if they are interested in buying your Wii U for 200-250. Your bundle is clearly worth a lot of money (a good....300-400$ with the games, Amiibo and console), so I'm sure you can get quite a lot with your bundle .
Being in Canada, the shipping to the states would completely invalidate the sale for either sides, it'd be way to expensive right now. I'd love to be able to get $250 to $300 for it though lol
Have you posted in the Canadian deal thread? You'd probably find a few people looking for a WiiU. I can see your bundle going for $250 at the lowest.
Dude, what? Are you one of those people who think all Nintendo games are the same? How does having a 2DS fix any desire to play WiiU games? And you're "sure" NX will be backwards compatible, lol?
I love my Vita, but it's obviously blinding you to logical reasoning here.
I think I will after work tomorrow! You guys have inspired me to at least sleep a night or two on it. Thanks.
I'm not being blind :l. I know that I am missing out on a number of Nintendo games like Kirby's Canvas Cruse, Splatoon and others due to not owning a Wii U....but the games I really wanted (Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros.), I can play similar or direct ports of the games through Mario Kart 7 and Smash 3DS. So, from my personally opinion, I am happy not owning a Wii U due to having a lot of other great Nintendo games to play on my 2DS . I am very sorry if I came off as ignorant or anything; didn't mean to do that :l.
And considering Nintendo's history with BC (the Wii had it with GC, and the Wii U had it with the Wii), I strongly think that they will do the same with the NX and Wii U. Again, sorry if I came off as ignorant regarding that.
I will admit I am 'done' with Nintendo after how they handled things this E3 but I will not let that cloud judgement on the Wii U; I personally don't think its worth getting after everything considered . So, I will drop things by saying that and I hope I didn't offend or upset anyone, as you guys have been really cool to me the past two years on Gaf .
I think I will after work tomorrow! You guys have inspired me to at least sleep a night or two on it. Thanks.
For sure. I mean, some people were jumping up and down on a refurbished WiiU at $180 before it sold out. SSBU and Captain Toad should add $40. Amiibos another $20, but that's if they want them. Same for Pro Controllers, but $30. And then you have a few expensive digital games (MK8, NSMBU, Pikmin 3). No matter how you look at it, this is definitely worth $250 at the earliest. Honestly, I think you just haven't done a good job at trying to sell it
Think of it this way; what would you think if someone said that there's no point in getting the Vita for P4G (it's a port), Killzone (might as well get at proper shooter fix on consoles) or Gravity Rush (it'll come to the PS4). I mean, if those reasoning sound okay to you, then I guess that's that. But if it's not, just know that you used the same reasoning to trade in the WiiU. The WiiU has many great games that are not just Smash/Kart (Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101), has better ports and gaming experiences (Smash and Kart 8are way better than 3DS Smash and Kart 7), and waiting for another system to come out to play the games just shows you don't actually care about the system.
Anyways, I understand you didn't mean to offend, but you were ragging on the WiiU unfairly and I had to speak up.
What's there to be down on the Wii U's future anyways? It's got this year and next and some great games on tap. Nintendo's first party in my opinion has never been stronger. It's just got that finish line in sight.
Okay, I understand what you mean . Like I said, I am very sorry that I offended people and I will keep my personal thoughts about the Wii U to myself in the future. You're right; if someone came to me what a similar feelings about the Vita, I would be very upset too.
Thank you for stating this to me . Will make sure to better frame my arguments and sound fairer to the console, as it is a great one. Just upset with Nintendo and what they are doing for its future :l.
It's cool, and please, you don't have to keep your opinions to yourself. We can all share our opinions and discuss, and we all become wiser for it.
On a side note, I do agree with you that I don't like where Nintendo is heading with Amiibos and milking them, though that's a completely different topic for another thread.
Back to you, Vita!
Looking forward to Shantae: Half Genie Hero and Mighty No. 9 if they land on Vita this year .
Also excited about Persona 4 DAN, Digimon CS and hopefully God Eater 2 if that ends up being localized this year/next year.
Wayforward has never once made an initial launch date on Shantae. Pirates Curse was like...two years overdue?
I am so excited for Digimon. Not even DD-only could deflate my excitement.
When's the next possible announcement date/event for GE2 localization?
GE2 doesn't need a show to be announced, in fact it doesn't seem like a big enough deal to bother. It'll probably come PS4 physical/ Vita digital sometime late this year or early next.
I expected Sony to support Vita for more than a year but I was just a fool to think that. At least Nintendo is still supporting their devices and has put more effort than a company that has yet to give a single fuck. They are clueless as they come.I guess I expected Nintendo to support the console as long as, say, the PS3 (2006-2013) or 360 (2005-2012) but I was just thinking foolishly I suppose. It has a strong library and I will give Nintendo credit at doing a much better job handling its 'final' years better then on both the GC and Wii.

They deserve more credit than Sony in my opinion.
Fostered the indie community?A big part of that died with PS Mobile. And most definitely haven't fostered Japanese publishers or developers - they just know where it will sell and that isn't on PS4. Most of them would have moved out to mobile or find another way to survive if Vita didnt work out for niche devs. The Wii U and Vita are interesting beasts, as they are both on different sides of the same coin; platforms that struggle to find sales and an audience.
Both did different things in accomplishing this, with Nintendo continuing to make strong software for the Wii U while Sony instead fostered the Indie community and JP publishers/developers into supporting the Vita while they instead focus on the PS4.
Regardless, both are strong platforms and I was a bit cold regarding the Wii U with my prior comments. So like I said a few posts before, I will stand by my thoughts on the Wii U and I respect Nintendo in continuing to provide strong games for the console (they are doing a stronger job for the Wii U's final years then they did with the Wii and GC honestly).

Good point on PS Mobile (RIP). And its nice seeing JP publishers/developers find home on Vita and use that to make a lot of great games games !
I'm sure the PS4 will start really kicking off in JP once FFXV, KH3 and FFVII Remake land (granted.....those won't be out for quite a while :l).
PS Mobile died because it was insignificant. The Vita gets indie support because people at Sony actively work to make that happen, we get 2 or 3 new announcements every week.
The value of the stuff you are giving away is way higher than what you're getting in exchange. Wii u and Vita are very good consoles , both of them, content wise I prefer Vita , because for me playing indie games in a home console its not exactly something I prefer. I would recommend the next options if you really want a Vita and don't care for keeping the wii u anymore.I'm getting conflicting messages here.

The problem is that no one wants to buy it for more than $175 - $200 on CL/Kijiji and trade in at EB Games or Best Buy is going to get me ~$100.
I don't know where an appropriate place to ask this would be, and since I was juniored, I can't make a thread.
Do you guys think it's worth it to trade my Wii U for a Vita?
They're the same price in Canada (assuming you're buying the refurb Wii U)
Vita comes with
- P4G
- Ys: Memories of Celceta
- Lumines: Electronic Symphony
- WipeOUT: 2048
- Sly Cooper 4
- Shinobido 2
- Some shittier games like PSABR, UNit 13, Dungeon Hunter, etc
- 3 memory cards
- Carrying case
- Game Card case
- Charger/USB cable
- Screen protector
Wii U I'd be trading comes with
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
- Digital copies of Pikmin 3, NSMBU, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (have 4 for 2DS anyways) and MK8
- Some VC games
- 3 amiibo (Mega Man, Samus, Toon Link)
- 2 Pro Controllers
- A WiiMote with nunchuk
- Power cables and sensor bar
I've been trying to sell the Wii U for 2/3rds of a year and this is the best offer I've ever gotten :\
