Given how quiet they've been, and that they're only bringing a 40 minute show, I'm getting this is representing whatever their big holiday push is going to be - seems like COD at this point - and extended looks at early 2022 games like Horizon. I wouldn't go in expecting God of War footage; feels like that's something they'd use to advertise the event.

Edit:
I stand corrected ; GoW is expected to make an appearance.
Their last major conference literally lasted about 40 minutes. I have no idea what you are talking about at all

I don't have the links now, but while ago some of these 'leakers' mentioned Kojima and (obviously before it got restructured) Japan Studio. Meanwhile Kojima was working on Death Stranding PC port and Death Strading Director's Cut, and people in Japan Studio was getting fired and they were restructuring the studio while working on Astro's Playroom.

Since many years ago Konami doesn't make big console games outside their football game. So if they have two at the same time, it would make more sense to make them about different IPs because it's what companies do to diversify their catalog. Specially they won't bet two times on the same time on the same IP when this IP (Silent Hill) isn't one of their best selling ones.

Konami now invests more in mobile games and stuff like that instead of in big console games because it's what it is more profitable for them. And is working better for them than when they were releasing way more big console games.
The two Silent Hills were talked about by the VGC. They are a very reliable source and are rarely wrong. Therefore, I would not write it off. We can only wait and see what comes of it all

Yes, as a member of thi forum I think you were claining they were 'dead' when you knew it wasn't the case due to their relatively recent exclusive releases and announcements that I highlighted -and another ones I may forget- while they are breaking sales and revenue records, because I assume you knew about them and you were expressing a hyperbolic fake concern.
So just because they did “something” that invalidates every criticism. Got it, fanboy confirmed.

I really hope they have something nice for the holidays that they haven't shown for some reason.

Updates on God of War and other big projects are cool, but those are all so far away.

I´m 100% sure SONY will come out firing out of all cylinders. They were quiet for so long that I´m sure there is an abundance of new information to share.

My personal predictions:

- First Trailer (or gameplay of God of War)
- Gameplay for Gran Turismo
- Naughty Dog will present The last of us Factions
- SONY will announce the acquisition of Bluepoint + we will get a first glimpse of the new project (Silent Hill, Snake Remake or Castlevania remake)
- We will get more info on that blue box project (whatever the fuck that turns out to be)
- I hope we get a new trailer or maybe even Gameplay for that Harry Potter game
- Gameplay for Forspoken
- the show will end with a bang. Probably GTA trilogy remake

"One thing to note: PlayStation’s next generation of VR won’t make an appearance this time. But there will still be plenty of great PS5 games from developers large and small. We hope you can join us!"

fuck this show
While I personally think they should have dedicated a segment for this to really create next-gen hype, 40 mins runtime doesn't really give enough time. I look forward to the dedicated reveal where they show off the headset, controllers and killer games coming to it like Astrobot, RE8 and Half-Life Alyx 🤞🤞🤞

I know people here write off Silent Hill since blooper team is working on it, but we shouldn’t forget that nearly all rumors said that two Silent Hill projects are in development and one of them by a Japanese developer. So I think there is a chance that there will be a Silent Hill Game. And full disclosure I believe it to be from Kojima/Hasan.

Anyway even if there is the Silent Hill Game from blooper team, who wants to actually play it. Silent Hill is my favorite franchise of all time, but a Silent Hill from blooper team is not a real Silent Hill title for me. Only Japanese developers understands Japanese horror enough to make a real Silent Hill Game.
Yes i agree. I bet the blooper Silent Hill game will be like Homecoming/Downpour.

And before someone quotes me telling me "dude, this is too much for a show that's supposed to run for over 40 minutes", let me tell you that I have taken into account the opening and closing montages, the PS-themed transitions in between games, some brief developer segments here and there and the length of the trailers when making this predictions; all of which I have not listed for the sake of keeping the list simple and pretty to the eye.
Just add Pragmata and Hogwarts Legacy to that list and I'll be happier than BDSM Jesus.

Bloober already shut that rumour down, they’re working on something else.
"At Bloober Team we have two active internal projects… neither of them is based on themes or premises that have been circulating online in the last days."

They could show me a Bloodborne Directors cut and a new Fromsoftware collab and i'd forgive them if they plan to show deathloop again.

Now my predictions:

GT7
TLOU remake and factions for TLOU2
Forspoken
GTA V
Deathloop (and for gods sake please no)
Death Stranding
Resident Evil 8 DLC
God of War
Ghostwire Tokyo
a few indies

Edit: forgot Hogwarts

to everyone saying a new Spiderman game. Jesus Christ give Insomniac some rest. They just released 2 bangers in an extremely short timeframe and it's more than enough to show this next year

This is actually the perfect time for a Spider-Man 2 announcement. The latest Spider-Man movie trailer has generated record-breaking hype. The iron is hot. Even a two-second clip of Spider-Man swinging with a title card -- Spider-Man 2 | Coming 2023 | PS5 Exclusive -- would be fantastic for Sony before the upcoming holiday season.

Probably the most logical prediction. Although I hope no time is wasted on stuff we already have or know about like RE8 or cod.

A surprise Holiday 2021 Factions 2 announcement would be nice.

God of War gameplay demo.

Little Devil or whatever its called update and hopefully a new announcement or two.

Death Loop and Kena are already around the corner and had their very own dedicated state of play, as well as Horizon. So i don't want to see any of those there eating up those 40 minutes.

Some of these predictions/wishlists are hilarious. No wonder so many come out the other side of these things disappointed,.

Also to anyone mentioning FFXVI, Yoshida''s team wont have anything ready to show for TGS 2021, what makes you think they will have something for next week?

Yep, better go with below 0 expectations.

S-M with R&C tech would be a perfect combo for a multiverse setting.

The thing about this one is that there isn't a prevailing "temper expectations" being thrown around by folks in the industry. Sony is usually quick to downplay events, but this one they did not(aside from VR, which is a ways away I'm sure).

They know how to put on a good show, so I expect an endless parade of games for 40 straight minutes, of which they can pack a lot into it. They don't much fuck about with dialogue or deep dives in these, just trailer after trailer and usually "one more thing" at the end.

Horizon has gotten its due, so I don't expect much there. It's time to show off more than that.

Sony often stays so quiet, so I expect them to bring some serious punches. I hope it's very good, because there isn't a whole lot left other than The Game Awards.

If Shu is hyping it up then I gues some Indies would be present.

Since both Herman and Shu seem equally excited, I predict 20 mins AAA + 20 mins indies.

I think Shu would have hyped it up regardless of there being indies or not. I think he's too important to not make a comment on the event.

I believe there will be Indies there but most of the show won't be dedicated to them.

Edit: To clarify I was talking about Orphan of the Machine kind of indies not the ones that make AAA games.

They say what they need to.

As far as I know they are involved in Silent Hill. They may be one of the few dev studios or the main team though (but this part is my own deduction).

it was set to released in 2021, yes they are.
Are you serious?

Do you seriously believe a game with no name and without a teaser, not even a single image, was going to release on 2021? Are you that naive? Sony lied, it's a simple as.that. The game was never going to come out this year. You can't make a game like that in 3 years. The original took 5 years to make.

Assuming they green lighted a sequel in 2018 that gives you just 3 years to work on it. They weren't even able to release horizon which has 2 more years in development and looks like a PS4 game.

I will stick to my release date of fall 2022 at the earliest. More likely make 2023
