Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Caught a wartortle with 300 CP. Thing put up a fight and broke out of several pokeballs. Luckily had a Razz Berry to make it easier.

I want him to become a blastoise but I need more squirtle candy =(.

I'm a little too obsessed with this game, so I made a quick tee design!
What do you folks think? Cheers! :)

Not Niantic's fault your hood is boring.

Sure... but its deeply sad that in a Pokemon game, the worst place to play is in an open field.

And some of the stops near my work are things like a companies flower arrangement... lets not pretend there is a high cultural criteria for stops.

Pokemon Go isn't Ingress, though. It should be places of gathering, not at art exhibits. The fact that Pokemon can spawn in the middle of someone's backyard or private property with no way to get to it otherwise goes against this premise of going to 'exotic locations.' Just using Ingress as a base shows you how much work they have to do in order to improve it, because it doesn't into account the type of people that play it or the locations they should be going to.
Real Pokémon masters ignore personal property and private land

I don't particularly care about this, but I'm definitely gonna try it as soon as it's available here. In any case, it sure is quite funny watching people being hyped on Twitter and, well, pretty much everywhere else.

Lol he's using the iPhone version to which means the apps going to crash more than he will

Did more testing today and sure enough the iPhone is terribly unstable compared to the android version

iPhone version crashes every 10-20 minutes
Android version crashed on me after about 8 hours just once. But instant login to google accounts on android saves a lot of time getting back in.

? I have an iPhone and have no crashes hardly ever(likes once or twice a day at the most). I think something is wrong with yours.

I'm terrible at battling. Any real tips to it?

Also I make a motion to rename the game Pokemon Go: The Rise of Zubat

Waiting for this to appear in the UK (properly) is just getting hard now, especially when I keep seeing all these great stories about the game in the media and I can't even fracking join in.

Anyone have an image overlay of the moment you're trying to capture the pokemon? Like a transparent background but with the pokeball and all that stuff still there?

Doesn't it automatically advance you to the next Pokemon after you kill the lower one? Or am I remembering wrong?

Also, has anyone figured out optimal Pokemon catching when staying in the same location (without just leaving the game on)? At least in my area, if I leave it for like an hour or two and then turn the game on, I almost always seem to have four Pokemon around me. Maybe there's no real pattern here and it's just down to chance, but just wondering.
Kill the lower ones - escape, rinse and repeat until gym is out of prestige. I'm guessing this is a bug but it works.

Was going to say this in the other thread before it was locked, but not only is Pokemon treated as a Nintendo IP, but it was very much a collaberation between Niantic (which used the same tech as in Ingress) and Pokemon and Nintendo staff including Iwata. Saying that Pokemon Go isn't a Nintendo game is foolish, wrong, and heavily downplays that Nintendo has had a huge success.

Yes. I tried this with a nearby gym. I used my Snorlax to defeat the lowest tier, then I installed my own easy mon when another slot opened up and proceeded to use Snorlax to fight my installed mon and the first mon I initially beat. I'd quit after those two (because I couldn't beat the Pidgeotto after it) and the gym would level up incrementally. I repeated this until I got the gym to 20k Hp. I used a ton of potions in the process. Seems you can't use any mon that has an hp below 90% or somewhere around there.

The gym was still overtaken the next morning though. Lol

How do I do my secondary attack in battles?
2 posts ago I asked the same question! A bit unintuitive tbh... Someone know how?

thanks!

My 6s+ crashes 4/5 times I catch a Pokémon. Not a crash I guess but it freezes on the pokéball animation. I'm constantly restarting the app.

I have the EXACT same issue

That's the crash.....is the fucking Pokeball freezing on catch. Then you have to force close and pray it loads or you have to log back in each damn time! Also pray you had a decent throw because if you didn't you possibly lost your chance

I have the 6s. Works awesome.

Yes, seems anything before the 6S works great.....I'm jealous of your iPhone haha

Sucks that it seems to work bad for that one. Hopefully once everything settled down will start seeing updates.

I've lost a shitload of pokéballs that way, man... It sucks.

Racket over here seems to have it working fine....but I'm not going to blame it on my iPhone when nothing else has issues. Ingress works great.....lol. Also I'm not changing providers switching to my one plus. Must be the phone and possibly even area as well.

At least racket gets to use his nice phone lol

I know I am probably so late to the party on this question, but is it likely the features implied in the original trailer have yet to be released, or is there some chance it was a lie...

Particularly trading and PVP

Where I live, someone's house is also a pokestop...was jelly until I noticed people gathering outside it at random times of the day lol

Trading is absolutely coming according to a recent interview. PvP was not mentioned but i'm sure it's a no brainer.

I really think Niantic and Nintendo didn't anticipate this game becoming a phenomenon. They clearly released Ingress with a Pokemon skin but given it's immense popularity and ability to make a shit ton of money I can see them doubling down and adding some depth and a lot more features.

I really wish we could have had Pokemon training in the wild instead of candy.....because already I'm not feeling much for the gyms despite owning a few and once i catch them all....I really don't care how powerful they are. PvP won't really add much to me because I'm not a PvP kind of player.

Yeah, I was just talking with a friend, and we both felt as though while the game is somewhat addicting now, it could become really stale without some extra level of community interaction beyond gyms.

I kind of wish badges were a thing when it comes to gyms as well.

Every 10-20 minutes? BS. Mine crashes every time I try to catch a pokemon lol.

So will a fully evolved pokemon never have the same power as one you evolve yourself? Or do they all have the same potential?
I think the only limit to CP is your trainer level and how many candies/stardust you have to waste.

I think it's smart. You have rare Pokémon that have high CP but are unlikely to be upgraded due to their rareness. Meanwhile, you can have common monsters that start off with low CP but because they're common, you can strengthen them to compete against rare types.

just get the app into catch-pokemon mode and point it at a blank white wall, take a picture.
