Man, fuck the 60% flinch. I swear one of these days I'm gonna switch a Taurus into that fucking thing as punishment.
I wanna battle you with 3 Togekiss, Skarmory, Bronzong, and Forretress. The match will be all Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Roar, Whirlwind, and Paraflinch :p

Oh my god so true.

gg Inferno313. Luck sure was on my side in the beginning freezing you and not being affected by paralized for 3 turns in a row, plus a cirtical hit that was just about to about to knock yours out.

Then paralized for 3 turns sucked :lol

Damn I still haven't managed to take out more than 1 of my opponments pokemon in wifi battle so far. And everybody is leading with Skarmory so that's the only pokemon I've actually taken down :lol (which is always a pain for me since fire moves is one of the few types I don't have)

I'm so useless at EV training, I keep losing track and losing count! How do you guys all keep count of where you're at with EV training?

You defintely have to write it down somewhere. Save everytime you have EV trained one stat, then it's not such a big waste if you screw up. Pay attention to how many PP there's on your pokemon KO'ing the wild pokemon. I'm using Aggron for example, he has Surf and Double Edge two moves that both have 15 PP. Coincidentally many times it takes 15 pokemon to get full EV in one of the wanted stats, so you can always seen how many PPs are left to know where you are in the EV training.

Yes, the most effective way is to track down how many opponents you killed by looking at the PP.

For example, you want 252 EV in Attack. The way I do it; I go to Mt. Silver, enter the cave, and surf to the left. In there you will find Seaking only, which gives 2 Attack EVs. You will very, very rarily encounter Goldeen. You will need 21 battles with Seaking to get that 252 EV. So, 15 Thunderbolts + 6 Psychic will do the job (talking about Starmie here). I even stopped bringing a paper with me when EV-training. It's much easier this way.

You can, if you have the money, buy 10 vitamins and give it to said Pokemon. He then will only need 152.

I don't lead with Skarmory and am for a quick battle if you want.:D

Is it just me or are Pokemon impossible to catch in this game without Dusk Balls? A level 20 Taurus, asleep, 1hp and he shrugs off Ultra Balls without them shaking even once. I can't count the amount of low level uncommon Pokemon I've ran in to now that I've had to kill because they just can't be caught.

I mean what the hell do they expect you to do in this game? Play only at midnight? Ultra Balls used to be good enough to catch level 60 Pokemon without status effects, now they are ineffective on anything over level 15. Great Balls are useless on everything, Heavy Balls don't even consider Onix to be heavy and all the specialist balls are worse than a basic Poke Ball.

Tauros has one of the lowest catch rates (for non-unique pokemon)

It's all about apricons. Love Balls are great early on, then level balls will be a great help once you have some high lvl pokemon.

I stumbled across a Marill on my first encounter in Mt. Mortar. I tried to catch it, but I accidentally critted. Then I looked online and saw that I had a 1% chance of finding it again without a swarm. :(

You can find them in the Safari Zone pretty easily, and if you pay attention, then yeah, a swarm will happen before too long.

It won't even let me accept your battle request. Says I can't connect with you. When it disconnected us it gave me error code 91010.

Says I got a problem with my friend codes. :\

Hmm should we try another time El Sloth? The force doesn't seem to be on our side right now.
I got a Chansey swarm yesterday. Caught a box full and not one lucky egg. What a waste.

someone wanna fight? Metroid? Then we can do the tower battle, k? I need a lot of points :(
Unfortunately I have to pick up my girlfriend from the station in 15 mins, and wont have time for a fight. Also you can't get points from wifi battles, you are you own :(

I'll gladly fight you some other time though, and any particular items you are looking for? I may have them.

Ouch... Should have done this:

Have a fainted Butterfree as the first pokemon in your party (Compound Eyes stills works = 10% chance of item instead of 5). Have a Stantler with Frisk ability and Thief(TM46) as the second pokemon in your party.

Perfect stealing team. 5 Lucky Eggs in 15 mins.

Who do I register in my Pokégear to find out about swarms?
I still need Snubbull from Rt. 38.

Go to your radio and tune into the Mary&Oak show. They only talk about swarms after you beat the Elite Four though.

I got a bunch of scratchy sounds when I tried playing with El Sloth earlier too. Not sure what was up.

Are we ever going to see Nintendo offer older event Pokemon like Shaymin and Darkrai again? I am considering buying an Action Replay to unlock their key items in Diamond; however, I am not sure if it is just better to wait a few months.
Probably not until Black & White are out, at the very least.

I basically do the same thing. The only difference is that I use trainers whenever possible or only train in areas where all the wild Pokémon exclusively give out the EV I'm after. This is in Platinum though where there are places like the Old Chateau with the 6 Magikarp fisherman practically next to it so I've got things a little easier.

I've been posting in this thread how long and I still don't have HeartGold?

I usually just play while I'm at the computer and keep a Notepad window up with running EV totals.

I'm around for maybe 1 battle right now if anyone wants to play.

If you don't mind the apparent static all up in yo business that everyone seems to keep getting when they play me, I wouldn't mind testing to see if I still get the same connection error.

I'll need your FC again though since I had to delete everyone in my pal pad.

Just coming in to ask a quick question...

How do you guys upload those pokemon battles on youtube in such good condition?

I'd like to know so that I can record my matches for the tournament. I'm sure Sixfortyfive will handle all the videos anyway, but I'd like to understand the process at least.:p
Are you talking about the direct feed videos on Youtube?
I assume those are all recorded from emulators.

Yeah, this ain't happening. Sucks. =/

If you haven't done so already, give your DS a static IP and put it in your router's DMZ.

I gotta head out for the afternoon.

Then use your Google-fu and learn how your router works! They are not simple devices!

By default, routers block a lot of shit to every device that connects to them. You gotta forward some ports to get reliable performance for certain things, online multiplayer being one of them. The easiest way to do this is to just stick the gaming device you're using into the DMZ, which opens up all the ports for it. You should probably assign an IP address to the DS manually so that it doesn't change every time it connects to the router, and then stick that IP address into the DMZ.

What's a good pokemon to take out Lance's Dragonites?

Totodile w/ Blizzard gets mauled by thunder :'[[[[
1. Use Lugia
2. Teach it Avalanche
3. ????
4. Profit?

I only did it this why because I only had a Pidgeot, Hypno, Quagsire, and Meganium in my Party. And none of them were good enough to beat them. But I kept Lugia just for battling his Dragonites. I don't use him, but he's good for getting through Lance.

I caught a Marill in the Safari Zone. I am going to spend endless hours in that place. The Hoenn/Sinnoh Pokémon aren't available until after the National Dex is unlocked, right?
Edit: I see how it'll work. Game Freak is definitely catering to the Pokédex maniacs with this Safari Zone.

Won't thunder still maul lugia, since he's flying?

Lugia's also part dragon, so the damage is toned down a bit. And even if Thunder connects, it will only make Avalanche even stronger. My Lugia was level 47 when I took him on, and he faired very well against the Dragonites. And if he's knocked out, just use a Pokemon as a target dummy and fully heal your Lugia. Rinse, wash, and repeat.
