Pokémon XY |OT4| Don't Bank On It

So, I just missed out on a Heatran on the GTS because I couldn't bring myself to trade away one of my Ingame teammembers I used to beat the Elite 4. I also tend to breed every Pokemon I want to use competitively with a member of that team wherever possible in order to atleast have some part of them carry over.

I think I might have a problem lol. Anyone else feel sentimental over their first set of pokemon in a game?
I'm the same. I've traded my starter before though... I totally regreted it afterwards. :(

I can give you a Heatran if you can't find any.

Looks kind of like Delphox?

It's actually Braixen, but close. Braixen's hard to draw well in such a narrow space.

Also made one for my vaguely competitive team in X:

Nothing wrong with that; I do the same thing. I'm breeding an entirely new competitive team by breeding each one with the 6IV Ditto. Of course I have to use the offspring for breeding to make them better, but in my heart I know they are descendants of my original story team.

That seems like a decent idea! Not sure how well they'd do but it seems like a nice way to add a bit of extra enjoyment in battling.

Man, I felt bad for temporarily boxing my starter when he became too strong for upcoming fights. I'm good on the Heatran though. I actually don't even like Heatran since it doesn't suit my playstyle and its design is a bit on the meh side but I figured it would have some value for trading chains with how OU it is. Thanks for the offer though!

Is it worth running dragon dance on Crawdaunt?

Also whats the best way to use Tyrantrum? I just realized I've yet to use him or Aurorus since the game's inception

I'm a fan of DD Crawdaunt, though he probably isn't "the best" DD user available. Adaptability, DD, Crabhammer, and Knock Off are pretty awesome. Dunno what the last attack would be though.

So, now that I'm done with the single-player portion of the game, I'm looking to build somewhat decent teams for singles and doubles. For singles team, so far I have:

Aerodactyl @Aerodactylite (Male, Adamant, Pressure)
IVs 31/20/25/11/28/30
EVs 12/252/0/0/0/240
Rock Slide - Aerial Ace - Earthquake - Substitute

Muk @Black Sludge (Female, Quirky, Sticky Hold)
IVs: 20-21/17-18/28/13-14/30/10-11
EVs: 252/252/0/0/0
Poison Jab - Focus Punch - Pain Split - Substitute

Kingdra @That rain-lengthening stone (Female, Modest, Swift Swim)
IVs: ??? (lost to time)
EVs: ??? (probably some speed and lots of SpAtk)
Dragon Pulse - Yawn - Surf - Rain Dance

So far, I've realized that Aerodactyl can be an OK attacker but is mauled by priority moves, and that Kingdra gets walled to death by nearly any fairy-type. I'm thinking about adding a regenerator Tangrowth, my old Gen 4 Forretress (Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes, Rapid Spin, Explosion) and Houndoom (Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot and some fourth move).

From this gen, I'd probably like to add Aegislash (or Duoblade with Eviolite?), and perhaps something with a priority move. I saw that my favorite, a shiny Venomoth, got Quiver Dance a gen ago... is it at least halfway decent alongside its Tinted Lens ability? I was thinking of a set such as Sludge Bomb/Bug Buzz/Quiver Dance/Sleep Powder.

Is there any way I can actually run Contrary Shuckle anywhere? Sadly, all I can think about is that it can use Shell Smash as some kind of horrible Cosmic Power substitute, and even then it'd often end up being free setup bait or get Toxic thrown at it.

Since my taste in pokémon mostly dooms me to dwell the RU/NU tiers for all eternity, I guess I could actually go ahead and make the team for those tiers, right? <_<

Doublade with Eviolite isn't as good. Like Aegislash, it'll go down easily to fire and ground attacks. Aegislash also has higher stats so you're better off having it instead of Doublade. Porygon2 is amazing with Eviolite. Chansey and Dusclops too.

Contrary Shuckle isn't that useful apart from setting up entry hazards, knocking off items, and poisoning your opponent's Pokemon.

Your team so far are weak against a number of stallers. You should consider having tanks/stallers of your own.

Aerial Ace for Aerodactyl should be replaced with Acrobatics, and Substitute should be replaced with another move (Iron Head, Fire/Ice/Thunder Fang).

Replace Muk's Focus Punch and Substitute with something else. Assault Vest Muk might be competitively viable.

Unless you're only planning to play single player battles, you should really consider beneficial natures and breeding perfect IVs in the stats you want.

Wouldn't Aerial Ace be stronger than Acrobatics since Aerodactyl is holding an item? Granted it's only 5 more BP, but it also never misses.

Aerodactyl doesn't get Acrobatics.

Aerodactly can't learn Acrobatics lol. Aerial Ace would be better than Acrobatics for Mega Aerodactyl anyways.

Thought so. You're going to need a female Croagunk. When you pair a male and female of same egg group together, you're always going to get the line of what the female is.

You might need to breed Mienfoo until you get a male. Then get a female Croagunk and breed it with it.

That's great to know, i'm still new to this whole breeding business. But now time to get a female Croagunk and level up my male Mienfoo for Drain Punch. :c

Man, it's weird how you can go from a huge winning streak to a big losing one. I was pretty confident in my team, and then I just lost like 5 games in a row on ranked doubles. Ugh. I'm going to blame it on poor playing from grogginess, considering I lost to things like a freaking Attract spamming Milotic (of COURSE the half my team that's male has to end up being the only things to fight it. Ugh). And bafflingly, though most of the teams I fought had a Talonflame, I'm pretty sure none of them had a Band. I don't know, I'm sleepy and shouldn't have been playing anyway. Yeah, yeah... that's it. Just sleepy...

That awkward moment you realize the Palkia you asked for on GTS is shiny (not having asked for shiny either), but only after viewing its summary page. Didn't even realize. Doesn't have much of a huge or interesting change.

Yeah, have one too. Don't like the pink much.

Does anyone have some spare X exclusive mega stones they'd be willing to trade?

So that would include:

Tyranitarite
Manectite
Charizardite X
and Mewtwonite X

I have Pinsirite already. So I have lots of random 5 IV breeding rejects and a few spare legendaries (Gen 3 cover trio, Mewtwo, Mew and Terrakion). PM if interested. :)
