Pokémon XY |OT4| Don't Bank On It

May I have a Bagon and a Cubone? Just curious, do your Scraggy have Intimidate?

I've got lots of extras, too many to list. During the trade, show a Pokemon, and then cancel if you have it.
The Scraggy is Moxie. Bagon is Sheer Force w/ Hydro Pump and DDance and Cubone is Lighting Rod with Iron Head and Detect

We can trade whenever, but it sounds great

I hate trying to hatch 6IV pokemon and hatching a 5IV pokemon with 1 random stat that's terrible when both parents have that stat as perfect.....

I should at least try doubles/VGC one of these days...

@Firestorm:
How much of a change is it when you are proficient in singles?

The biggest adjustment initially for me so far is the opening/first turn. In singles, it's way easier to say, get rocks up or predict switches or boost. In doubles, the first turn has fake outs and protects, and intimidates, and switches and quick guards etc. it's a lot to account for, especially coming from a singles environment. If you double attack into a protect first turn for some reason, you could be fucked the whole match. A lot more strategy and things to think about, but still ridiculously fun.

I think I still prefer 6v6 singles slightly, but the VGC format is right next to it now in terms of preference. Like anything, it just takes practice.

Wow, I didn't realise until now that you can have mock battles in the VS Recorder. That's pretty cool.

My Skarmory gets wrecked with Magnet Pull and Taunt. :(

Shiny 5-6iv cacnea w/egg moves, hydregion with superpower and earth power, yamask, bronzor, and medicham w/egg moves acquired!

These shiny mon colors are dope as fuck.

Yo Doublade with eviolite seems like an amazing mon. Defense will skyrocket and sp.d would be good too. Seems like a great stall mon.

5 battles in a row, all of them against Lame-Kangaskhan, good way to turn one of my childhood faves into an obnoxious pokémon Game-Freak!

I'm suddenly experiencing some sort of lag when playing. It's almost always in the same place (when selecting an attack in a horde battle) and I just now had a complete freeze where I had to power the system down (it even gave me an error telling me to!)

Should I be worried? It's a digital game

It's only amazing if the Pokemon you're fighting against doesn't have Knock Off. Doublade can still get owned, especially in OU.

Good afternoon, lovelies!

Looks like no one wants a Snivy. I don't want to Wonder Trade them all away, so let me know if you want one!

I've used Eviolite Doublade a bit, it can really take physical hits like a champ. The fact that it had no real revovery makes it harder to use, though. It also has poor sdef even with eviolite.

I'll take one!

All righty! I'll give you the 5IV one since you asked first. You can give me anything for it, but if you have a spare Bouffalant, Koffing or any Pokemon Bank exclusive breedables, that would be super rad. My FC is in my profile and my IGN is Aimee, if we haven't registered each other yet.

Could've sworn I had a Koffing but guess not :( sorry!

Edit- Thanks so much, Kirlia! You rule!

I really love how easy it is to EV train in this game. I just fully EV trained six Pokémon in 30 minutes. Insane!!!

After I'm done Wonder Trading, I think I'm going to starting breeding Elekid and try to get a 5IV Electivire. Better make sure I use a male with egg moves with Ditto, though.

I will never understand this. "WAY TO MAKE MY FAVOURITE POKEMON USABLE!"

I'm so happy that Charizard went from useless to A-tier! Though I guess that's because I know they'll never buff Eviolite Charmander :(

Can you soft reset when doing the Lotto ID?

I want to try for a PP Max and since the majority of my dex was done by trading i should have a fairly decent chance at winning something good i hope.

Question for you, PokeGAF!

Never got into IV training much, but I now hold the power of the JPN 6IV Ditto in my hand.

How do I go about commiting to this? What is the standard process? I understand that I need to use an everstone to pass down natures? And even with the Ditto, the IVs might still not be perfect?

I was planning on:
1) Put Ditto + Pokemon w/everstone in daycare
2) Collect egg
3) Fly to battle institute
4) Hatch egg
5) Check IVs

Is this what you guys do? Is there an easier way? Seems like a hassle for each egg.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks, mates!

Put Destiny Knot on the Ditto. It passes down 5 (?) IVs from the parents.

Collect 5 eggs. Hatch using a Flame Body Pokemon (Talonflame). Use Hatching Power. Check IVs at the IV Evaluation Judge in Kiloude City

I thought the Kiloude judge wasn't reliable?

I feel you. I would do anything to make Eviolite Chespin any more than a Spikes/Reflect setup mon. If it were up to me a Pokemon that evolves twice (like Charmander or Chespin) would get a 75% boost in both defensive stats. >_>

He tells you which IVs are perfect so if you need one with, say, 31/31/31/x/31/31 he will tell you that when you get them. He won't tell if you if it has, say, 5 IVs in Defense though

Awesome! Are there varying degrees of his "ratings?" For example, he says my Greninja has "outstanding potential overall. Greatest potential lies in HP. Hmm, its Defense stat is good too. Sp. Def seems just as good though. Stats like those can't be beat!"

Does that mean my Greninja has 31 in HP, Def and Sp. Def and that's it? Or does that not even guarantee that its 6IV in those?

He has 31 IVs (highest ou can get) in HP; Defense and Sp. Defense, yes.

Outstanding is the highest rating you can get

Outstanding is talking about the total of your IVs. You want to look for the stats he says "can't be beat" which means it's 31. If he says something negative about a stat, it's 0.

Great! Still seems a bit murky, is there an alternative way to see exactly? Or is this how you guys measure?

If a Pokemon has 6IVs, will he say it has outstanding potential and then proceed to go through each stat?

Thanks for all the help, MicH! Looks like I'm going to remake all my guys with this Ditto!

If the Pokemon has 6 max IVs (31 in each stat) he will say the Pokemon has outstanding potential and then list all the stats, yes.

There's a diference between making a mon usable (yay, tinted lens and quiver dance for Venomoth) and just plain broken. It just becomes tedious when everyone and his mother uses it in almost every match, rated or not.

But this is nothing new, every gen has it's obnoxious pokes, this gen platinum award goes to The Stupid Bird and The Broken Marsupial.

I hate Talonflame so much. I refuse to breed one myself.
