Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Honestly, I hope that if you complete 5th Gen area then you would have access to 3rd Gen area, so I don't have to worry about to getting ruby and sapphire.

By that logic, Nintendo shouldn't ever be making games for the 3DS because the user base right now is still 0.
Well the truth is that Gamefreak has probably been working on this for a while on DS hardware, and the actual graphic style of the game is nowhere near what is thought the 3DS will produce. They would basically have to rebuild everything they've made from the ground up. Plus, do you really want to buy a whole new system just to play Pokemon on?

We did it for the Ru/Sa, and we did it for D/P.

I thought that was obvious considering Gold Silver and Crystal and GBC.

I don't consider the GBC that big of an upgrade compared to GBA and DS. Not to mention Gold and Silver were technically GBC games too. Who would want to play those games on the old GB black and white graphics?

why are you surprised this is the fifth generation, is it not

what

Nah... It's just that my whole dream of "catching em all" when I was a kid is well.... Shit... :-/

I barely got the chance to start trading with people in the 4th generation. :-(

Nah they're saving Hoenn for the Ruby/Sapphire remakes. :lol

I'm doing it all now. Gunning for all 493. It's never too late!

But first I'm *trying* to complete each gen's Pokedex sequentially. I have like 6 Kanto Pokemon left, when I get them I'll have conquered childhood dream #65. :D At 315 total right now, and that's just two months after release. I might even complete the whole thing before August!

HeartGold/SoulSilver make it really easy to catch as many as possible too, I believe they have the most "obtainable" (non-trade-only/event-only) Pokemon of any games in the series. And we at GAF can always give you eggs and evolution stones if you need them. :)

Would they really make a Ru/Sa remake for Gen V? There's no direct trade barrier between III and V, Gen III already contains most modern gameplay mechanics (that we know of), and R/S/E already has remakes associated with it.

I'm happy with all these designs, especially the older trainers!

Fire pig is kind of boring but otter dude is cute enough to make up for it.

But some of the rarer Pokemon are nigh near impossible to get. Like if you want to get a Gible, you have to put like thirty decorations in one area of the Safari Zone and wait 100 days. You could change your clock I guess, but that would make you a cheater. A CHEATER. Though it is easier to get the Kanto/Johto Pokemon in HG/SS.

Oh God. I hope not. Then they'll eventually remake Diamond and Pearl for the 3DS....actually...that's not a bad idea.

That'd be insaaaaaaaaaane. :lol

I "accidentally" got a Gible from someone here on GAF through a trade. :lol I didn't specify the receiving Pokemon and I was giving someone something... things work out I guess. :P

But actually even though it's a lot of work, it's still fulfilling to do the Safari Zone stuff. The REALLY "impossible" Pokemon are the Pokewalker ones, it might actually take me more than August to get those...

I made a point when I bought SS that I'd leave no rock unturned, I'd put time into every game feature it offered. And... I'm still not sure I've touched on everything. :lol

Fun fact: I actually had more Hoenn Pokemon than Johto at one point because of their abundance in the Safari Zone and the Hoenn Sound. :lol

God I'd love for them to include Hoenn in this. They could say Hoenn and Isshun shared an Elite Four, and let you battle May on Mt Silver. Man, that'd be soooo good.

100 days, wow what were they thinking?

Wait.....Gible is hard to get? I got that Pokemon without hardly any trouble in my Pearl Version if I remember correctly.....
They're talking about HG/SS

You have to place X amount of tiles in Safari Zone and wait 100 days for them to "grow" so a Gible will be catchable in that area.

It's a terrible, terrible decision.

Opinions

Male Trainer: Cool, looks like FRLG Red but with longer hair
Female Trainer: 'exotic" hairstyle

Grass Starter: Love 'em, looks like the smuggest Pokemon ever.
Fire starter: Cute :3 he's so happy :D
Water starter: Didn't like him at first but he's warming up to me.

All in all everything looks good and I'm hyped for Gen V!

Luckily, I was able to trade one from Platinum.

Like heck I'm waiting that long for one Pokémon >_>

Lets get Orre in the handheld series. We can just walk around the desert for days fighting sandshrews for hours and hours until we reach a town.
Orre had some neat towns

Too bad those games were stripped down shit.

Okay, this makes the starters look 10x better :lol

Now that I've seen the full art of the trainers, I really like it. Best male trainer since Gold (Gold version Gold, not the pussy HeartGold version), and... best female trainer ever? Short shorts are too good :D

What I just noticed

female starter actually has legs instead of just.... 2 lines with skin color that has to pass for a leg every pokemon anime girl has.

:3

she's liek 10 yrs old guys

She isn't. She's older. This is the fundamental difference. And look at them hips. They could easily bear a child.
Also her physique makes her out to be about 17/18 years old. This is totally acceptable.

so is everyone here

whats your point bro, pick the grass starter
grass starter looks like shit

water starter is the best

i don't get what you're trying to say either cause i'm definitely not 10

Well, May had an even older-looking body than this new trainer imo. And hot pants = instat hotness

This could be the gen where I actually choose a grass type (if i ever bother to get it), that smug look on his face :lol

But also the water starters have just gone downhill, none of them ever been as cool as Squirtle or Totodile.

I don't really know I should feel anything about have another pokemon generation, the 3rd and 4th already wore me off about it that I don't really care. Everyone's reaction to all this is more interesting :lol

Oh please, Mudkip is clearly the best water starter.

best starters

- Bulbasaur > treeko > chikorita

- Squirtle/totodile tie > mudkip

- torchick cause blazikens got flame pants > charmander > cyndaquil

D/P are so rubbish they dont count, already forgot half of their names/evolutions

Nah Gen 4 easily has the most well designed and agreeable starters. Some of the coolest final evolutions too.
