You guys are seriously in for a treat when you reach Laverre City, it's has the most creative city and gym style out of the entire Pokemon series and the music is fantastic.
Be a few days before I'm there at this rate

Yeah. It's really good at dealing with strong special attackers due to its high SpD and access to Wish. Foul Play allows it to deal heavy damage to physical attackers that switch in, which is nice.Holy fucking shit
Barbaracle learns SHELL SMASH
A mon whose base stats are already freakin' dangerous.
Interesting. Is it mostly for support/traps?
Are the megastones easy to get? Like can you buy them from vendors or are they scattered around the map?
Mega Manectric looks like it could quickly reach the speed of light and then plow through the concrete-fortified walls of an enemy base.
Alakazam was a surprise.
Quick question for those of you in the know. We know the mega evolution stones for Tyranitar and Aggron are in the opposite game that those pokemon appear in?
Is that also the case for Heracross, Manectric, Houndoom and Pinsir?
Or are we just assuming that's the case because Joe discovered them? Because I don't recall him having to trade for the other stones.

Back when Sylveon took that Hydro Pump like a man in that PGS Exhibition Match people were like, "OMGWTF".According to this, Critical Hits do 1.5x damage instead of 2x, and the Sleep counter doesn't reset when you switch out.
The trademark list -- and they ARE real trademark renewals -- had all of the Mega Pokémon revealed so far except Venusaur, Alakazam and Manectric. The others on the trademark list that haven't had Megas shown yet are Jynx, Scizor, Latios and Latias. Of those, I fully expect we'll see Scizor and Jynx in the coming days. As for Latios and Latias, I could easily see them being a promo event.
Pinsirite and Heracronite are in the right game for their exclusives
Manectite, Houndoominite and the ones for Aggron & Tyranitar are mixed.
Still haven't found the Tyranitarite
Wait, Barbaracle has Wish, Foul Play AND Shell Smash?? In addition to naturally high Sp. Def?? His design looked cool, but for some reason I didn't think his potential would match.
I don't understand some of the negativity toward Mega Manectric. He looks elegantly simple, but packed with power. The silhouette is strong. I submit to the Guillermo del Toro school of thought that silhouettes are the most important aspect of monster design, and Mega Manectric delivers in spades. Definitely one of my favorites, and I say this as someone who never particularly liked regular Manectric.I hope it has ridiculously high speed and special attack
I'm really starting to warm up to Manectric. God I love electric-types.
Yeah, I expect the Latios/Latias to be saved for a promo event, or even R/S remakes. I wouldn't be surprised if a few Megas may be held for promos. Either way, its good to know that it is following that trademark list, but that there are also Pokemon who weren't on the list getting Megas.
I'm sure this has been covered, but how do you find Mega Stones?
Some you can buy, like the Kanto starters, and others are just around the map between 8pm and 9pm
It is the Ugly Binacle. Of course it needs methods to kill everyone!
Interesting. Do you get any indication of where they will be, or can they literally be anywhere between those times and you just have to walk around aimlessly hoping to find them?

I'd like to hear from Joe and others as to their methodology for searching for Mega Stones. Is it just a matter of wandering everywhere from 8 p.m.-9 p.m. and talking to every NPC, checking every interactive object, using the item that detects invisible objects (if it's back), etc?
EDIT: ^^^ Ah so it's trial and error. Things change in that time period and you just come across the Mega Stones.
Venusaur, Alakazam and Manectric were not on the trademark list but have received Megas. What are the ones not on the list who have gotten Megas so far?
I had a thought today, I truly like the mega evolution and it brings a fresh air to the gameplay mechanics buy I'm afraid the competitive metagame will be full of teams with only pokemon that are mega evolved. It put all other pokemons at great disadvantage. Why would anyone for an example play with haxorus while there is the mega dragonite? Who would choose infernape when there is mega lucario? and assuming that all mega pokemons are about 25+ (maybe up to 30+ but nothing is officially confirmed)I predict that the OU and Ubers tiers would be so repetitive and dominated with these pokemons. I don't know, I love all the variety of pokemon teams in the competitive scene but this will kill it unless the ban mega evolved pokes.
Mega Alakazam looks GODLIKE

Via Wireless? I don't see anything. ;___;
Teams are limited to one Mega Pokémon per battle, so I imagine most teams will have a Mega that serves as their "anchor" around which the rest of the team is built to set it up, control the field, etc. So Infernape would get use in teams where it provides coverage and supplements a Mega Pokémon other than Lucario. Haxorus would get play in a team that doesn't use Mega Dragonite (if Mega Dragonite even exists). And so on.I had a thought today, I truly like the mega evolution and it brings a fresh air to the gameplay mechanics buy I'm afraid the competitive metagame will be full of teams with only pokemon that are mega evolved. What Pokemon learns that?
Joe -- please listen to this man! As always you're doing great work for the Pokémon community. I think doing the above would deepen our appreciation of what you've found so far.Hey Joe. I have a request.
Can you upload a back picture (like the one houdoom has) and a picture of stats for the megas?
I feel like pokes like Manectric and Pinsir to look better for a different angle. Also Banette stats.

I like how Aura Sphere comes in with the Combo Breaker
My understanding is both Alakazam and Charizard could be on your team in the same battle, and both could be holding their Mega Stones, but once you Mega Evolve one of them, you won't be able to Mega Evolve the other. It all resets at the end of battle, of course.Oh I had no idea about that. Restricting to only one mega makes a lot of sense.
Does that mean I "can't" put more than one mega pokemon on my team or is that I am allowed only a one mega evolution in a match (as in for an example, I have alakazam and charizard, I'm I allowed to have them both in my team in a battle but only evolve one of them of my choice?)
Both actually. Some you can buy, like the Kanto starters, and others are just around the map between 8pm and 9pm
