I wish there was a way to 100% turn off announcer waifu. Horrid loss "Nice job! Looks like my advice is helping!"

Fuck off.

EDIT: Like, I'm on a huge losing streak and the thing that is pissing me off isn't losing, it's getting told "nice job, you're so good!" when I've LOST.

EDIT: No clue how my edit made another post.

You can. Go to you town and turn advice to off and then turn voice to off.

I've set it to off but she still chimes in at the end of rounds etc saying "supportive" things like "you da best" even though my Chandalure is lying battered and broken at the foot of R. Pika.

On the note of Nia and bad advice does she periodically tell any one through out a match that your support gauge is full when it is in fact not? I thought it might be a bug for when she's trying to tell you your opponents gauge is full but after carefully checking that it turns out it just happens out of the blue when neither can even be close to full. It doesn't screw me up ever its just really odd.

Sometimes she tells you how full it is, like half full. Maybe you misheard her?

I'm thinking about switching mains to Blaziken. Is it good?
It's fun but I think the character is arse. You have to play too honestly. I have a level 100 Blaziken but went to Suicune and started to spam projectiles. Much better. Blaziken has a terrible projectile/zoning game which means has to get in. You'll get out zoned by this gamez lame game or out prioritised by weavile, pikachu/libre since they have better hitboxes and are faster....and oddly harder to punish on block/whiff. Honestly recommend to not waste youe time.

Is there a reason that Blaziken is getting through every single one of my "counter" attacks? Like just breaking right through them all, they aren't hurting it.
It's a piercing attack.

Unless the audio isn't the same as the text (I muted the voice pretty early on) I don't think so, this is what I'm talking about:

Well her eyes are closed so maybe she wasn't paying attention and assumed you had full gauge because she has faith in you and you can do it and keep it up, proud of you.

So, how popular is the online play in Europe? I tried the European demo and liked what I saw. Only issue is to know if the European Online is active enough. I fear the community wont stay big enough through the year.

It's not like we have any info to predict off of. For the moment games come in astonishingly quick.

I doubt it'll remain as popular as Splatoon or Smash but who knows.

Do you notice that your are playing against the same players often? It's a sign of low population.

I can deal with any projectile, but Fire Blast is my bane. This one dude pretty much just spammed the move in duel phase and I couldn't do anything. Jump over? Nah. Counter dash cancel? Kept getting stuffed because I didn't know the timing. The only thing I could do was advance slowly while blocking every hit coming my way. (In retrospect I could have tried Karate Chop and see if it beats it) The match is easy once I get the switch into duel phase and not give them any distance, or when I actually get in on all that Fire Blast spam, which is how I won the next two rounds after getting decimated in round 1.

Not fun lol

First time I had repeating opponents in EU was yesterday evening, faced the same Mewtwo 3 times in a row, matchmaking has been consistently fast though.

I feel if you select next match right after a match and your opponent does to it just matches you together instead of going into the pool.

I didn't go against any European people yesterday. But the few matches I did were at like 10PM GMT, so I guess that's not surprising there isn't as many around then.

Pops were still fast though. Maybe a little too fast in casual mode, got put against some people who I feel I really shouldn't have. xD

Blaze is good

Can you give us a tier list and if possible a bit on why they are where they are?

I believe this, lol.

Yeah, I'm in the UK and played a few online matches earlier today at 8am. I never had any trouble finding opponents, and it was always quick.

If anyone wants to add me my NNID is smashballtaz.

Fighting the same person multiple times is not a sign of low population in this case. Even in world of Warcraft PvP, a game with millions of people playing can have you facing the same team multiple times in a row. It's a matchmaking algorithm.

Fought a Garchomp with an 80% win rate who demolished me. However, I managed to learn quite a bit, not just about Garchomp's offence, but that player's style in general. As luck would have it, I instantly got matched with him again. This time, I utterly wrecked him and never got below half health in either round.

Feels good, man.

So I've got Chandelure to S.lvl 100. Those last few levels seemed to take a lot longer than any other. Like mostly I'd gain a level every two matches or so but towards the end, like 95+ it was like 3 or 4 matches per level. Not that it matters but just something I noticed. Unless the curve is more subtle but I didn't notice because I was going through the leagues barely paying attention towards the end.

I think I might give Sceptile a go he seems fun and has a ranged throw in duel phase like Chandelure and I love ranged throws, people don't seem to expect them.

I haven't had matches against the same players recently but I did have a bunch of matches yesterday where it felt like I wasn't being properly matched in terms of skill

I'm in D4 with a ~55% win rate and I was being constantly matched with people in E5 or E4 with win rates of 30% or below. Or in some cases, it was their first match.

I don't like being matched against total newbies because 1) I feel bad for them, since they probably don't know how to play the game yet and 2) I don't learn anything when I just steamroll the opponent so it feels kinda hollow.

Same happened to me, I played a Pika who dominated me twice in a row, I came back and dominated 4 in a row. Once you learn how the person plays and their limits of the character then you can use that against them.

I gotta admit I am liking this game way more than I thought I would. My kid ended up getting it and was excited to play but more excited to play with him. In the end I woke him up early this morning so we could get some matches in :)

Fuck him and his garchomp though. I can get somewhat close in a battle but man I can't seem to overcome his attacks.

I didn't not realize that Gardevoir's down+X in duel phase is a ranged piercing attack. I definitely need to work that in more against people who have the CADC down.

And last night I realized how bad her frames are on Field phase homing attack (the X X combo), holy shit. If me and the other player both go for one I think Garde just loses every time because she gets hit first.

Ironically I need more practice against stupid shit like Braxian or Gardevoir spamming their big long range attacks in dual phase. I got out-lamed a few times pretty badly last night, lol.

I don't think I've ever intentionally pressed the X button in field phase with her. It's so slow, I swear it's faster to calm mind > dazzling gleam.

Yesterday was a bad day. :(

Just had time to play a couple matches when the GF went to bed...2 Win 5 Lose.

Them Mewtwos are a pain in ass... D:

Tonight I'm having a long...5 hour ride, I'll try to hook up the Wii U in the car and play online via my GF's 3G...hopefully the connection won't be too bad...anyone tried that?

EDIT: Also, I can't access since I'm at my job, but it seems Pokkén is doing very well in Japan...Mewtwo Laser me if old.: www.gamespot.com/articles/wii-u-sales-surge-151-in-japan-after-pokken-tourna/1100-6435949/

Actually I found that the pillar when he does an air dive to have a deceptively huge hitbox and way more annoying than that homing pillar.

but only in burst mode it seems. Which isn't really an issue for Shadow Mewtwo because he charges up super fast anyway, on top of having one of the burst attacks in the game

maybe it's because I've been watching a S. Mewtwo player with over 2000 online games under the belt already the last couple days, but there are just a number of things that seem problematic about the character. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being one of the dominating fighters in the roster. It really looks like he can shut down all the zoners, I've seen a B1 Chandelure going all-in melee against him

Oh, I have no idea on the matchup outside of burst really, haven't run into any Shadow Mewtwo players. I was just talking about the boss version in story mode.

mfw 151%, that's too perfect to be real.

So is CADC as simple as it sounds? I don't really know anything about it other than the acronym.

I assume it means counter attack dash cancel. I tried to hold counter and dash a bit last time I played, didn't seem to happen always. Does it only work in field phase? Only with certain dash directions? Do they need to hit me mid counter?

Press R plus any direction to dash cancel your counter attack.

Yeah it's R plus a direction while charging a counter.

I actually had hoped you could just double tap like a normal dash but unfortunately you must press r also.

Despite my inexperience with fighting games I've managed to flawlessly get up to E3 rank. I'm having a total blast maining Braixen, her playstyle especially in dual mode is really fun.
