True, the VA in general is a mess. They seriously could've gotten fans who would do it for free just to be in a Pokemon game and do a better job.
Wouldn't that be an issue for lag tho?
Set the VA to Japanese, so that shouldn't be a thing.
EDIT: Too bad your character is stuck to a younger type unlike PKMN Battle Revolution. I would've wanted facial hair like the first league leader.
Sceptile, using traps and projectiles even in duel mode is key imo. That vine grapple move has helped me out more than anything. Also his ninja counter.
Stats carry over into online, or are they normalized?

They carry apparently.
Don't forget that Leaf Blade has counter properties, which is super useful.
Also is Machamp's air drop actually a counter or is it for a brief moment? Seems I can get snuffed out of it midair with regular attacks even though he flashes blue.
This has become a running joke with my friend. It makes it more funny cause us (as well as my avatar in game) are african american so we make the most racist jokes based off this.
Maybe I'll try some of this. I was obliterating single-player as Machamp but I went online as a lark and went something like 3-12, I actually haven't played the game since it was so frustrating. I feel like I played really good matches too but people will just projectile spam, it didn't make me want to get better, it made me want to stop playing.

Man, I gotta say... I wasn't sure about Sceptile at first, but damn, it's really good. So many options and the setups with bullet seed and leech seed are amazing especially in duel phase. So many traps.

Any high level blazekin play? Really enjoying him but want to see some good footage before I venture online. Finally done griding that chroma league and have both mewtwos and all supports unlocked.

I am amazed the game shipped with this level of voice acting. I know the term "unacceptable" is overused to the point of meaninglessness in gaming circles, but I genuinely didn't expect Nintendo to consider such terrible voice acting to be acceptable for a flagship franchise.

On another note I would have been perfectly happy if the dub voices made it in, at least with the option to turn them on or off. I don't understand how some Pokemon games have them and some don't. Whats the thought process behind it.
Pikachu saying Pikachu is ok for everyone it seems but not for Gengar saying Gengar?
A volume warning would've been nice for this...

I've never understood this. Like, in the Anime everyone says their names. It's all "Pika Pi!" and "Bulbasaaaaaaaur!" but the in the games it was always just beeops and boops trying to be growls etc until they decided "nah, Pikachu speaks". I want my game Pokémon to "speak", not just Pikachu.
Got my copy today and was able to play for about an hour but I got error code 150 (dirty/scratched disc) 5 times and gave up. Any suggestions? Brand new copy so the disc is spotless but I guess I'm gonna have to exchange it which means another 5 days or so before I really get to dig into it. Seems great from my short time though.

I'm bored of using Chandelure and just spamming its charge beam to KO the CPU, as effective as it is. How much of an effect does level have on matches? I might rotate.
Also, one of my friends complained that they were running out of ideas when he saw it so I had to remind him of a certain Ball pokemon XD

I wish the league champions had a bit more story integration. I rather like their designs (especially the League Master) and would have liked to see them more often.
Also, my trainer now has a cape and crown and looks like a super villain.

How do you get the crown, I beat all the leagues and haven't received it, is it an onlin achievement?
I feel like there's a lot of people in that boat.
It's the first time I've bothered with a fighting game online, and there seems to be quite a few other people around online who are new.
As for the disk issue, it might just be faulty. I remember buying Sonic All Star Racing Transformed for the WIi U way back when, the disk was absolutely spotless, but it was just error when I tried to play it. Had to send it back.

I got it for defeating the Iron League. Though I think the game refers to it as a tiara rather than a crown

From what I've played with him, his speed seems to hurt him the most. He has slow movement in field mode but his down A in Dual is killer
Sometimes I don't even bother with low win rate Chandelure, Lucario and simliar 'mons since they just keep spamming their attacks and I have to slowly work my way towards them since all pursuit moves risk of teleporting him right into their projectiles and his own projectile attacks largely suck IMO.
EDIT: And yeah he's slow. It doesn't help that his limbs are so ridiculously short.

How do I charge an attack? I'm in the tutorial going through every move. Charge strong attack, charge and release X. What is it asking me to do?
Keep pressing X for a while then release it.
Gengar's not the greatest, but he doesn't really seem bad.
Even as a Gengar, I honestly hope they don't patch at all. Outside of maybe the ShadowTwo infinite.
It's number one on the Japan charts this week if I remember correctly.
Hey, it sold better than SFV, even though this game is on Wii U. So whatever that's worth.
It's first week was ~70k, so that's not really huge. Not a huge bomb so far, but I feel like this game will drop off pretty hard over time.

Press and hold the button combination. You'll know when you've charged because the attack will automatically go off (such as the charged beam attacks) or in a few cases, there will be a subtle orange glow to your mon (like Chandelure's Minimize).

About 5% of my games have noticeable lag. I play lots of people from japan and very very few are laggy.
Finally finished the Chroma League.
The final champion battle was especially funny. In memory of the youtube spamming video, I tested to see whether I could beat him using just Garchamp's B -> A projectile. Answer? Yes. It wasn't until the end of the second round he actually countered through them and got in close. xD
Fuck the Iron League though. I'm done with the grindy leagues!

Oh god are you serious? Please tell me you unlock everything by finishing the Chroma league.
You get Shadow Mewtwo for beating Chroma League fortunately. Also I seem to have every support slot filled.
Someone above said you get a cape and crown for beating Iron League. I dunno what else.
