Why doesn't Fox News just go all-in and doctor a video or audio tape with Obama saying he hates white people? Just release it 2 days before the election and by the time people verify that it's a fake, the damage will have already been done and President Romney can pardon anyone involved.

You're joking, right? Is this a serious question?

From what I've read, the "mysterious bulge" under Bush's jacket wasn't a radio transmitter, but a LifeVest portable defibrillator. You can see the same bulge under Bush's clothes in other photos. Apparently, the "choking on a pretzel" incident wasn't as mild as has been reported, or if that was even the cause. It doesn't make sense to have to wear some kind of bulky device to hear something in a tiny earpiece. You could have something in your pocket for that.

Sounds good to me.

Romney, man of the people, at Chipotle looking casual.

Suikoguy

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
Doesn't hurt him? What??
The GOP is going to be furious over this shit.

Yep, Romney has to balance the line between killing the GOP enthusiasm, and attracting independents.

This is a bad issue to do this with though.

I was actually in a small mom and pop accounting office, but we did have our share of millionaires. Basically we did tax work for firefighters to oilmen. My boss always use to say that if you are paying the top rate, then you are doing it wrong. I don't want it to seem like I am moving the goal posts, but as you pointed out Romney is not the average guy. He went to top tier institutions. He made much more in a year than what an average American will make in a lifetime. But if we consider his actions related to his peers, then they are not out of the ordinary. He's just like the average person in the one percent. I guess you could say that to get to the one percent that you must be greedier than the average American.

I think I can mostly agree with that. Maybe 0.1 percent. But I suspect there's a reason that people as rich as Romney don't usually make very good Presidential candidates, and I think this is party of why.

Nah, it's greedy to want nice things only for you and no one else.

Ah, yes, excellent point.

hah, so true

Not only that, but if Drudge really did have a serious bombshell, they'd move heaven and earth to release it tonight, so that it can be brought up at the debates. If they don't get it out, we can probably safely assume it's nothing.

The GOP is not the same as the anti-Obama voting base. They have no recourse but to vote for him at this point.
So what do you think Mitt has to gain by doing this?

Do you really think Obama's support from Latinos is going to plummet or something ? Come on now.

He might actually make some significant gains if he just takes every single one of Obama's positions :lol
That worked really well against Ted Kennedy...

Biden's comment about the middle class couldn't have come at a worse time. There's no way Romney doesn't use it against Obama in the debate. Probably in ads too.

I look at the facts.

There is a base that is strongly, fervently, 1000-years of darkness-y anti-Obama that will vote for Romney no matter what position he takes. Who is Chuck Norris going to vote for if Romney decides that he's pro-gay marriage, pro-choice, pro-DREAM, etc?

After all, this is the guy that "grandfathered" Obamacare. This is the guy that went to an elite east coast, Ivy League university. This is the guy that was governor of one of the most liberal states in the US and was on record as being pro-choice.

He has an established base that will vote for him, facts and reality be damned.

I bet he could 100% Etch-a-Sketch his positions and mimic Obama on every single position and Fox News wouldn't even mention it and just continue to make shit up.

I don't see him losing many votes by taking Obama's position on everything.

“This is really about introducing him to the country,” a Romney adviser says. “It’s the largest audience he has ever had. Everybody’s watching.”

Jesus, how many times are they going to say they're "introducing" Romney lol

Also :bow Pennsylvania Voter ID. Middle Finger, yo.

Biden's comments (I hadn't heard about them):
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday that the middle class has been "buried" during the past four years, a statement that Republicans immediately seized upon as an unwitting indictment of the Obama administration.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney replied on Twitter that he agrees with Biden, saying: "the middle class has been buried the last 4 years, which is why we need a change in November."

Biden told about 1,000 people in Charlotte that Romney would cut taxes for millionaires and raise them for middle-class families.

"This is deadly earnest," Biden said. "How they can justify raising taxes on a middle class that has been buried the last four years? How in Lord's name can they justify raising their taxes with these tax cuts?"

Lis Smith, a spokeswoman for Obama's campaign, said the Republican response was "another desperate and out-of-context attack."

Obama only down 3 in MO. Ooooooooo.

Missouri's polls just keep jumping around. One day Obama will be down twenty, the next day by one. I guess that's what happens when you're not a swing state -- inconsistent polling. I think the trend looks vaguely like Obama down by less than 5. Could be closed, but it would require trends to continue or increase, in which case Obama would be winning a lot of states.

Biden's comment about the middle class couldn't have come at a worse time. There's no way Romney doesn't use it against Obama in the debate. Probably in ads too.

Why? The middle class has been doing badly -- there's wide agreement in the polls about that. Hasn't hurt Obama yet, why would it hurt him for Biden to acknowledge it now?

I feel like the uproar about Biden's slips is based on the classic conservative idea that when their candidate gets in trouble for racism and sexism it's all manufactured outrage and so all they have to do is watch for Biden and Obama to say similar stuff. Sometimes works on Obama. I have yet to see it work on Biden.

Considering the Campaign narrative has been partly about Repubs holding Congress hostage to prevent legislation to help the middle class, Biden's comment won't hurt because it fits the narrative.

The GOP doesn't get it, though.

Saying the Middle Class has been buried for 4 years while you were President can only be a negative thing. Even though it may be because of policies being put forth by the house GOP.

I think Republicans will push the Biden quote, they have nothing to lose in doing so. Will it hurt Obama? Who knows.

I was curious about this video drudge is hyping then I saw that their last video about the "Obama phone" was pure trash.

It plays right into the GOP theme of "Obama may not have caused the problem, but he sure as hell didn't fix it."

Nobody will care though because nobody cares what Biden says. Him saying the occasional dumb thing is baked in already.

HAHAHA.

There are varying accounts on exactly how many people left in the middle of the service, but after the awkwardness subsided, Sircus and others decided to donate to Jim Graves, Bachmann’s Democratic opponent in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District.

...

The Graves campaign told the Chicago Tribune that it experienced a 400 percent growth in donations from the Chicago area last week, although it’s unclear to what extent the Synagogue attendees are responsible for this.

Best part.

Oh man, if somehow they can get Bachman out of Washington...

It's not gonna work. Here's why. People know what Biden was saying. Middle class has been struggling to get back to feet in the past 4 years, and they're only barely there yet. It wasn't an indictment of Obama economics. People aren't gonna go, hey Biden said middle class is under water so I'm gonna vote Romney. No.

I can agree that it's extraordinarily unlikely to be a good thing. Doesn't mean it'll be a bad thing.

BOOM: Obama at 70% among Latino voters
Obama enjoys the backing of 70% of likely Latino voters, according to the CNN/ORC International survey, slightly higher than the 67% of Latinos who voted for him in 2008. Republican nominee John McCain garnered 31% of the 2008 Latino vote. In 2004, 53% of Latinos went for the Democratic nominee John Kerry over the 44% who went for President George W. Bush, according to national exit polls.
Romney at 26%. No wonder Mitt is revisiting Dream Act.

Pretty much. This is another part of that whole desperate "fling feces against thebwall and see what sticks" strategy that the GOP is currently flailing around with.

A Facebook photo of a handgun posted on Friday by Brad Staats, the Republican nominee for Tennessee's 5th Congressional District, has stirred controversy over its accompanying caption, which concludes with the words "welcome to Tennessee Mr. Obama."

"Many people in Tennessee keep asking me about my opinion on Second Amendment rights. Apparently Tennesseans are part of that crazy crowd that Obama says ‘cling to (their) religion and guns,'" Staats wrote, referencing remarks made by then-candidate Obama at a California fundraiser in 2008. "Well, then I must be part of that crazy crowd. Here is something that I usually have with me. Welcome to Tennessee Mr. Obama."

...why would this be a good idea?

edit: squinting I can see more to it than just that. It's qualified with "where we..."

Still, why post the gun? you'd think congressmen would think about this stuff a bit more..
