Yeah, I want the conversation to move away from Obama's performance as anyone here, but we need something more concrete before we declare that Romney has been "caught cheating."

new We Ask America polls showed Romney taking leads in all three states. They're a volatile Republican-leaning pollster though.

Those are wild polls. We Ask America had Obama by 7.4 in Ohio in August. So they're saying there was a 9 point swing in the last two months towards Romney in Ohio, and a five point swing in both Virginia and Florida in the last three weeks? I mean, anything is possible, but, uh, I hope they're an outlier.

Seems rather likely that if a presidential candidate in 2012 really wanted to cheat, there are a bit more clandestine means available than smuggling in a few sheets of paper into a room full of cameras

Yeah, like using his built-in wi-fi to receive his zingers from his campaign?

Also, PhoenixDark, please report in if you are alive, PhoenixDark. Dude's probably in tears right now.

It's still such a shame, if Obama had won the debate these job numbers would have put Romney away for good. There'd have been no hope anymore for him. But Obama looks back on track now.

Maybe it's for the best, now the GOP will still waste money on Romney instead of diverting the money and resources to the House and Senate races.

If Obama wins IA and OH, then election night will be a short out.

It's entirely possible that we'll know who won the election by 8 pm on election day. If Ohio and Virginia are called one way or another when the polls close, as opposed to being too close to call, the election will already be over.

If Romney really did cheat then this will be the greatest backfire ever.

The cheating angle isn't really worth running with. Unless there's something really completely undeniably obvious, it would just come off as sour grapes, and aside from that would remind people of Obama's performance in the debate.

Best to just cut your losses and move forward.

For comparison,

Ohio:
Rasmussen Reports 9/12 - 9/12 500 LV 4.5 47 46 Obama +1

Virginia:
Rasmussen Reports 9/13 - 9/13 500 LV 4.5 49 48 Obama +1

"Calm down?!"

Obama hitting women's issues hard. Is it just a VA thing or a general campaign strategy now that Romney is running to the center?

It depends on how it is brought up. The smart thing for the dems is not to talk about it or say they know nothing. If the media runs with this on their own, without Obama's help, then it could be something funny.

Yup. Unless there's an HD feed or photo that clearly shows what he pulled out Dems should just move on.

Lol CNN showing two videos of Ronemy flip flopping on coal for job creation

I find it amazing how the media is defending Romney flip flopping but nailed Kerry to the wall for his supposed flip flopping.

If it already wasn't apparent beforehand, it is now. Obama is basically guaranteed to win the election. The only chance Republicans had outside of fielding a legitimately good candidate (and that sure as hell ain't Romney), was to utilize a lethargic economy to carve out a decent campaign. But with Obama now basically being able to say that after inheriting a mess from Republicans that ballooned the unemployment rate as high as 10% due to their failed policies, he was able to bring it back down to a four year low.

Obama already has the incumbent edge, electoral map advantage, is infinitely more likable and relatable to the American people, and he sure as hell can't be touched on foreign affairs, especially now that the Democrat's "softball" attitude towards Iran is actually resulting in the economic disassembling of their country.

Unless that little girl from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo goes missing, and turns up buried under the armoire in Obama's study, then he's pretty much guaranteed to be reelected.

The most important thing in the next debate is for Obama to damage Romney's credibility from the start.

Somehow get across the (valid) point that you can't trust a damn thing he says because he has almost certainly taken the opposite position at some point in the past.

You know, if Obama opens the second debate with a powerful line that wins people over, and the economy continues to improve in the last two months, he will have completed his transformation into Democrat Reagan.

SPOILER: Columbus finds America
Romney is freagin shameless it's pretty amazing actually. I've never seen anything like it. He literally argues both sides with passion!

Enough with this cheating angle. Anything that keeps that debate in the news-cycle doesn't help Obama lol

Not that I think he was so terrible but he clearly lost on style, demeanor and not forcefully responding to attacks on his policies
