Ignore the "Romney got a pretty decent bump" comment Cheebo wrote.

Ignore everything Cheebo writes about the election, most of it is flat wrong. Also before you start talking about "momentum" keep in mind that 538 has specific modeling of perceived momentum in polls and look what's happening there.

It's like playing darts, Team Romney didn't close out Ohio, so Obama just keeps throwing darts at it racking up points.

Criticize, sure, but belitte?

I don't recall McCain being snarky in the debates.

My memory of the 2008 debates isn't that great, but I don't recall them ever getting as heated as the Romney/Obama ones have.

from blatantly misrepresenting obama's opinions and what he's done (apology tour? death panels?) to shouting him down and literally getting in his face during an argument (2nd debate) Romney deserves a lot more than the verbal bitch slapping he got.

You have to love that the Romney campaign put out an apology tour ad despite it being called a bold faced lie by Washingtonpost, Politifact, CNN/ABCNews fact checkers, and more.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=_rE3NZr_oMo

fact checkers won't dictate how romney runs his campaign.

My aunt just posted a verse from the bible on FB as proof that Romney is the anti-christ. :/
I have no love for the guy but that's taking it a little far I think.

Well there's also a bunch of Mormons who think the guy's a fulfilment of a Joseph Smith prophecy about saving the constitution too...

Romney AND Ryan are wasting their time in Nevada? Also, I lived in Colorado for several years while I was in the Army, and I've never heard of Morrison. Turns out, it's a town of less then 500 people.........lol. What the hell are they doing there?

I honestly thought Obama went as hard as he could against Romney last night without getting physical. Obama's response to Romney's assertion that Obama didn't visit Israel in his first few months as president was as cold and personal as it gets.

How many undecided voters are actually undecided?

I suppose there might not be any proper way to determine this, but it strikes me that a lot of people may just respond to polls as "Undecided" because they don't want to tell a stranger on the phone who they are voting for.

I think those people just don't respond to the polls.

The media, ads and debates cater to this so called "undecided voter" so I'm sure people wear it with pride, hoping to one day fiddle with that silly real-time polling dial that they use on CNN. They're made to feel "important" as an undecided.

Final results, I'm pretty confident of Obama- NV, IA, OH, NH, WI
I'm pretty confident Romney: NC
I agonized over FL and VA for a while, and decided to give O VA and R florida. Polling seems to be ticking towards Obama in VA, while it's moving against him in Florida, even though Obama's Ground game advantage is larger in FL than VA.

Total EV: Obama 303.

He only implied that Obama was a secret terrorist. That wasn't belittling at all!

That's not a fair charge to level at McCain.

He didn't imply that at all. Heck, when people at his rallies tried to level that charge, he told them that wasn't the case.

He did state that he lacked validity on national security issues.

You're remembering the sequence of events wrong. McCain put out the Bill Ayers ads, he attacked Obama on that "connection" relentlessly using heated rhetoric. He only pulled back because he was shocked by the crowd reactions and by condemnations from John Louis and Colin Powell.

But now McCain lashed out at his opponent on his own in ways remarkable for their tone and subtext, suggesting that Obama was a dangerous, possibly corrupt, possibly Manchurian unknown. “Who is the real Barack Obama?” McCain said at a New Mexico event two days after the Times published its piece on Ayers. “What does he plan for America?” Forty-eight hours later, he referred directly to the former Weatherman. “He wasn’t a guy in the neighborhood. [Obama] launched his political career in his living room.”

Cindy McCain was equally vitriolic, a startling turnabout from a woman who for so long shunned the spotlight. Obama has “waged the dirtiest campaign in American history,” she said one day. The next, she averred about the Democratic nominee’s position on a war-funding measure, “The day that Senator Obama cast a vote not to fund my son when he was serving sent a cold chill through my body.” A week later, she reprised her attack on Michelle Obama before a pom-pom-waving crowd in Florida. “Yes,” Cindy said, “I have always been proud of my country.”

As the election barreled toward its conclusion, something dark and frightening was unleashed, freed in part by the words of the McCains and Palin. At rallies across the country, there were jagged outbursts of rage and accusations of sedition hurled at Obama. In Pennsylvania and New Mexico, McCain audience members were captured on video and audio calling the Democrat a “terrorist.” In Wisconsin, Obama was reviled as a “hooligan” and a “socialist.”
McCain deserves not the slightest respect.

Well this is downright unsettling:

NYTimes said:
A Republican-run election board in a northern Ohio county sent out voting instructions to several precincts with the wrong date for Election Day and an incorrect description of the polling place location, leading state Democrats to suggest foul play in a presidential race that could be decided in a handful of states like Ohio by tiny margins.

The Ottawa County Board of Elections sent a mailer to three precincts last week referring to Election Day as Nov. 8, instead of Nov. 6, and said their new voting place was in a building on the east side of the high school rather than on its west side.

The Ohio Democratic Party issued a statement saying, “This error is deeply troubling.” A party spokesman, Jerid Kurtz, said it was “paramount that voters not be misled” and asked the board not only to issue a correction but also to review all its correspondence with voters from the past year.

JoAnn Friar, director of the county’s elections board, said that the error was unintentional and that a corrected version was being edited and would be sent out promptly.

“We had three precincts changing polling locations from the high school gym to the new maintenance building, and the mailer we sent out had the wrong date,” she said. “Then in trying to give more precise directions, it said it was to the east of the high school, and it’s really to the west.”

She said she suspected that the first error was a result of substituting part of the text on last year’s form, which was stored in the computer and when Election Day was Nov. 8, without proofreading it. “We’re sorry for the inconvenience,” she added. “There was certainly no intention of trying to make it more difficult for the voters.”

Ms. Friar said the wrong mailer went out to some 2,300 voters out of a total of about 30,000 in the county, which is on Lake Erie in northeastern Ohio near Toledo. Asked to explain how two errors were included in one short announcement, she replied, “If you’re going to mess up, do it right.”

Plus he had Palin to do all the work-up-the-crowd stuff.

Give me a fucking break. 8 isn't even next to 6. It wasn't a fucking typo and these people should be fucking ashamed. Luckily, this kind of thing shouldn't have a huge impact, but the desperateness of this fucking party astounds me.
