Ironically there's a chapter in Audacity of Hope where Obama (as a state senator) goes out to lunch with another Democratic pol, who tries to make a big show of ordering regular mustard for Obama because he's such a down-to-earth guy and Obama's just like "no, I'll have the dijon mustard."

Trump practically lives in gold and still got to be the voice of "the common man" so I'm not sure any of this matters to the degree I think it does. You can project sincerity and authenticity and still enjoy that green tea.

It's funny how the only people being exposed there are the ones so decidedly not "the common man" to somehow get the impression that dijon mustard is an elitist thing. I wonder how they got that impression.

The reason the golfing thing is going to look bad is because something is going to go very bad and very wrong when he's on leave at Mar-a-lago and it's going to be a fucking disaster.

I mean, even if he were at the White House it would be a disaster, but you don't want to be the president who was on the 8th hole at a country club when 9/12 happened.

Seems pretty simple to me. Most Americans have negative views about Muslims/Islam (to some degree). Most Americans are disgusted by pedophilia. What you can get away with largely revolves around what people care or empathize about/with.

I'm surprised Breitbart might be pulling the plug on him though. Figured he'd never lose that platform.

My point is that people are only okay with "free speech!" in discussing the humanity of people they don't like, people don't actually believe in the principle of allowing people to have a platform regardless of their beliefs.

1. Despite on-the-record sexual assault, associating with the imagery and language of white supremacy and actual Nazis, never paying taxes, being in massive debt, and actively and publicly colluding with Russia to fuck with a presidential election, what could Trump possibly be blackmailed by?

2. An internet troll, famous for being a white supremacist got a book deal, was defended by the President, and was invited to speak at CPAC. All until ... ?

I will say that "free speech," or more accurately "absolute free speech" can be a dogwhistle, but I think we should avoid making free speech openly partisan considering that they've been gunning for it for way longer and are far more thoroughly entrenched.

Didn't get much attention though.

Milo is just going a bit too fast here, Republicans will be defending raping children "if they look old enough!" after the video of Trump raping a 14 year old comes out.

There's also audio of Trump himself bragging about walking into Miss Universe dressing rooms unannounced to look at them while they're naked because he's the owner and they can do nothing about it.

And allegations from 4 Miss Teen contestants that he did the same to them.

But the media was too tired of attacking trump after the Access Hollywood tape and wanted to focus on Emails.

I'm pretty sure that the Miss Teen story didn't get any traction because too many people were quick to dismiss those girls as, I don't know, sluts or loose or whatever sexist nonsense they believe.

Chris coons let something interesting go in his CNN interview. The intelligence committee has seen the Flynn transcripts and that makes it very likely the past meeting with comey on Friday was about this and probably more transcripts.

I actually dont expect anything from that dec transcript to be that bad. I mean a bunch of people have said they have seen them and that while sanctions were brought up no resolutions were discussed, but that could be all lies. Im more interested in any other transcripts, cause apparently Flynn has other contact before that call.

Man, that's even more screwed up than my theory about the press being fatigued from Trump scandal, but you're probably right. Doesn't make me feel any better about it though. It's the exact same thing as the access hollywood video, where trump himself is bragging on tape about sexually assaulting women.

Though in the end, I guess voters don't care about their president sexaul assaulting women anyway.

Spencer showed up apparently uninvited to an event called the International Students for Liberty Conference, which is a student libertarian gathering. Never heard of it, so I'm unsure as to the size. The people there were, understandably, confused and increasingly upset by his presence. A confrontation broke out, and he was ultimately ejected from the premises by hotel security and the police. Event organizers say that they had no idea why he was there and assumed he'd crashed it. However...

Assuming that this one is right, he was actually invited by a white supremacist libertarian student group (who look exactly like you'd think they would), the Hans Hermann Hoppe Caucus, after they couldn't get their preferred guy. Apparently Sol Invictus charges a pretty penny for appearances. Who knew?

So in summary Richard Spencer got invited to a libertarian conference on the down low by a few white supremacists as a second pick, and proceeded to get into a fight and get kicked out.

Punching this guy in the face seems to have worked out okay.
