Olbermann: "Hannity, PWNED, by Gibbs from the Obama McCain."

I swear, Olbermann is catering to PoliGAF.

For the 2012 Republican primary. Gonna be a lolpooloza.
I can only hope Ron Paul stays at it. Paul, three crazy fundies, and probably some token moderate who wants to reform the party but gets crushed? Sounds about right. Should make for good TV. I'd watch.

You guys are twats. I told you about that LogObama stuff months ago. It's made by a local Portland web firm called Substance, but just now you are getting on it? PFFT.

What the hell is up with these hateful remarks? I'm just reading up on them, why are these happening now?

Are supporters realising the desperation of their situation in the polls? Or are they getting riled up to such an extent by the speeches of McCain/Palin?

This is the perfect embodiment of the two campaigns, btw. McCain/Paling throwing around the negative energy results in shit like this, but you hear people going out of Obama/Biden rallies energised, positively encouraged etc. These reactions do reflect on the candidate speaking.

I don't know why people think that Palin is going to be running for anything on a national stage in 2012. Her negatives are basically being cemented. Most people can't believe the John McCain of 2008 versus that of 2000 and sooner. She's only been on the scene 6 or so weeks and people largely can't stand her. Governor of Alaska is the highest post she'll ever attain if McCain doesn't win.
If they lose, I'm pretty sure she's going to just retreat back into obscurity. I'm guessing this is the hope of her family, too. I haven't really seen them at all lately vs. them being centa'stage on the mic w/ her at the RNC.

It's starting to feel like the dying throes of his campaign and his supporters...kinda reminds me of the insanity from hillaryis44 and the like as the primaries came to an end.

Definitely. That John King comment right after seeing the poll results on the debate was an eye-opener. McCain's almost finished.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything more overtly racist like "lynch" or "hang" or flat out calling him a "negro"...well, at least not reported by the news yet.

I say, give it time.

We'll probably hear something that would make Uncle Ruckus proud soon enough... :lol

Yep, while McCain avoided all of the past ties his campaign's been harping on recently, they're right back at it today, and it's inciting flat-out hatred and racial bigotry, the likes of which I haven't seen in a long, long time. It's sad, really, that this is what their campaign has deteriorated into.

As a random note, I got my absentee ballot.

I'm going to take a picture of it after I fill it out before I mail it.

I can feel the history being made.
I pulled my ballot out of the mailbox just ten minutes ago and thought of doing the same thing.

I was just wondering what you think of the differences in campaigns, in campaign strategies, etc, in the USA and Canada?

I think it varies wildly for a multitude of reasons. Most importantly that we're in a conservative cycle right now (We had a Liberal Majority for over a decade until the incumbent Liberal leader Chretien was forced out, dividing the party and allowing the "change" candidate (Harper and the conservatives, the republican equivalent) to come into a minority government. now Harper is crying for Canada to stay the course, which is basically the same campaign that is getting McCain crushed in the election now. Unfortunately, the Liberal party (the Democratic equivalent and official opposition) has been weakened since their leader (Paul Martin) retired after being defeated by Harper and losing Lib support, and elected Stephane Dion, a generally unpopular guy in Liberal circles who was largely chosen to secure the Quebec stronghold for the Liberals) into power.

Fortunately, the Liberals (and tertiary challengers the NDP, which is more of a socialist movement) seem to have enough support to force another minority government, which means that if (and when) Harper wins, his government will be small enough to FORCE bipartisanship with either the Liberals (not likely) or the NDP (a bigger possibility).

To sum up, i'd say we're in our second Bush term. Though Harper is nowhere NEAR as bad as Bush is/was.

Gallup tie.......is an 11-point gap.
Ok, that's great, but didn't practically all the other polls tighten up? Some as close to a 2 or 3% gap between O en Mc?

Er...Diego is a 2 point margin, but it's been that way for a couple days, of course they're doing some wacky methodology stuff.

Don't worry too much about it, it would never get through Congress in any form with those basics.
Plus, nobody is going to pay much attention to the health care plan from an Arizona Senator in the minority party who just lost a presidential election in historically embarrassing fashion.

Fat Cat CEOs prefer McCain. I'm shocked :lol

Chief Executive magazine's most recent polling of 751 CEOs shows that GOP presidential candidate John McCain is the preferred choice for CEOs. According to the poll, which is featured on the cover of Chief Executive's most recent issue, by a four-to-one margin, CEOs support Senator John McCain over Senator Barack Obama. Moreover, 74 percent of the executives say they fear that an Obama presidency would be disastrous for the country.

Did that a couple days ago :D I was surprised to see so many 3rd parties on the ballot though.
