Edit: ch waffles, British Modernism had some decent shit like Woolf and Joyce, but tbh nothing touches Fitzgerald, Hemingway and Eliot

I personally have a soft spot for Faulkner, which would put American lit over the top, but I associate him more strongly with the Southern Renaissance than the Modernist movement. Though his work has aspects of both.

I prefer British writings from the period, especially their poetry, partially as a result of the far more direct suffering that the people endured during WWI. The US entered the war so late that its experience did not have the profound effect that it had in Europe. After the war the US was hit by a massive wave of nationalism and "rah rah rah", while Europe had to rebuild and bury its dead.

This is why I like you, Waffles.

To me, She Wolf is Shakira's Bionic.

A unique and experimental album for her, but still kinda messy and ultimately doesn't really come together. A for effort, but execution could use some fine-tuning.
