Bitter over Liam beating Zayn in the 1D vocals thread.
People know that I stan Kelly's voice, as well as a few of her songs.
But her catalog overall is way too boring for me. I just can't get into her post-Breakaway material. And while part of me loves that she found success (despite the wishes of some of the industry) with Stronger, another part of me hates that she went safer than safe to do it (and she was already safe). This is really the only thing keeping me from adding her to my pantheon of divas.
...but, I will say that I really enjoyed that performance of what I guess is going to be her next single? Despite being aimed at Country it was surprisingly soulful. If the studio version maintains that feel I might just stan it.

I think Kelly's been coasting for the past two albums, honestly. I have faith that she'll change it up when she gets out of her Idol contract, though. I don't particularly care for country but even I can realize that her inevitable country-pop venture has enormous potential. Gyals, just try to listen to "Empty As I Am" without getting chills at the bridge.

But Catch my Breath as your fave? I love it as well, but I don't think it's even top 5 for me for her. Oh well, different tastes.
Also, regarding her playing it safe, I'm really inclined to believe that's due to continuous label pressure. Maybe not, but it would be a safe bet. Regardless I'm excited for anything new from her, country or pop.

Listened first time earlier. Really great song. Day 1 for the album (an artist whom I actually like to spend money on).
Half of the Diamonds World Tour setlist was revealed/leaked and Im mixed about it, to say the least.
Act 1: Phresh Out The Runway, Birthday Cake, Talk That Talk, Pour It Up, Cockiness, Numb.
Act 2: Jump, All Of the Lights, Rockstar 101, Fire Bomb, What Now.
Act 3: You Da One, Man Down, No Love Allowed, What's My Name, Rude Boy.
Too many flops (Rockstar 101, Cockiness, You Da One), unknown songs (Fire Bomb). I mean I love most of those songs (yassss Man Down rihturns!!) but for someone with so many hits she is choosing to focus the beggining of the show in songs most people are not here for.
I am however VERY HAPPY that "All of the lights", "Man Down", "Fire Bomb" are in. Im guessing the later half of the show will be hit packed.
I guess I'll wait til' I see the show (if I can).

BC/TTT/PIU/All of the Lights/WMN/RB are all quite well known. Phresh is fine, and Jump is good, but yeah, What Now, Cockiness (I imagine she's doing that since she'll be touring with A$AP), Numb (vile), YDO, R101, Fire Bomb are all odd choices.
The latter acts will be stacked with the obvious choices (Umbrella, WFL, WHYB, Diamonds, Only Girl, Stay) so I guess it all evens out. When you're performing 25ish songs, people aren't going to be here for all of them.
