By and large, yes, but I'd keep a close eye on recent releases, as well as franchises that were expanded in 2015, until the last day, just in case.

That's basically my plan, first two days and last two days where I'll do my pickings.

So no daily or flash sales? Everyting will be at it's lowest price at day one?
No. If something is on sale that's the lowest its going to get, yes, but some games might only get on sale later on the sale and might just be live for a day(happened with some Ubisoft titles on the Autumn sale)

Hell yeah

Ubisoft had it 25% off on uplay this weekend.

Ubisoft also has been notorious for not putting discounts on steam but instead putting heavy discounts on uplay during steam sales to gain user share...During the fall sale Far Cry 4 received no discount, but was only $19.99 on uplay...

In your guys experience is the winter sale better than the others?

I'm new to this PC gaming steam sale thing :-D

Usually yes. Your first few sales will be overwhelming but if you've been here since the beginning it seems like usually the best deals are indie games

gET READY to weep over getting games you'll never played until 20 years from now, wherein each Steam Sale you'll attempt to buy the same game only find out you already own it~

ya, it usually is the best sale, number of games on sale usually is insane and prices better.
But this is the first winter sale in this new dailyless/flashless form, so we have no idea how it'll go.

Not to sure how much I will actually want to buy but I have £40 in my steam wallet in case anything does.

Off the top of my head the main ones I might be tempted by would be sunless sea, shadowrun Hong Kong and possibly the witcher 3 expansion if they hit the sale. However I'm not to clued up on pc releases over past 6 months or so, so I may see some surprises or something. Also life is strange is on my radar.

Might be tempted by FO4 but I really don't know if I care enough to get it even on sale.

Anyone else looking for anything specific.

I'm more interested in the minigame/gimmick/badge than actual games on sale. Last holiday sale it was the gems auction...

Obligatory: RIP flash and dailies.

it's most likely due to the refund system and possibly making more money selling games without flash sales, only a guess.

I'll be interested to see if we find out if thats true or not. I know I certainly dont expect to buy as many games this year due to the impulse purchases and time limits not egging me on.

Cdkeys had it for less than 40$ on launch. You should look at them during holidays for a cheap uplay key for R6.

Wish list on supa cheap games:

Tomb Raider
Deus Ex Director's Cut
Spec Ops the Line
LA Noire
Max Payne 3

You could also check eBay for "bullets or blades" NVIDIA promo keys for Rainbow 6. I have seen it go for ~$25 USD on there.

Give me Dying light, is all I want.

It has been as low as $12.99 on CDKEYS.com recently. Not sure how you feel about them, but they've never done me wrong yet!

Honestly the steam sale starts at the wrong time. Gaben fix it.

In Australia it starts at 4am? Malaysia where I live now, 1am?

China 1am, Japan 5am? India 10:30pm?

Over 33% of the world's population could be asleep.

Why not pull it back a few hours so that Australia starts at 12 midnight, China 9pm, Europe 3pm, US 6am and that way the entire pacific ocean gets the 12-6am period.

If its about server overload, i don't believe it, i mean who installs steam games anyway. /sarcasm

I always figured it was due to Valve being based in US PST. 10a their time lets them roll in to work at their normal time, gives them an hour or two for any last minute preparation, and then the rest of the normal work day to fix anything that went haywire.

since you're new, I'm just going to tell you this.

buy what you're actually going to play. there's really no point in wasting money on games that you'll never play bc they have a "good deal"

Right now is around 15 bucks on these kind of sites. I was expecting to pay that kind of money but do it through steam so devs get the maximum amount of money. A game with the support of this one must be set as example and be supported as much as possible.

Since there won't be any dailies the odds are that today will be the only day with potential price mistakes.
This is why I'm hoping for half off of R6 Seige. The autumn sale had the complete crew package for half off, from 60 to 30, less than a week after wild run came out, which I'm sure was a pricing error.

well, not exactly

The autumn sale didn't have flash deals butttttt some deals did pop up during the sale. Ubisoft put the asscreed game on sale like a day or two into the autumn sale for example. So just because something isn't on sale in the beginning doesnt mean it wont go on sale eventually

well that makes perfect sense but those steam guys should get to work a little early two or three times a year. there's millions to be made!

I know it probably doesn't make any difference to revenue, but still I'm juusssst about to go to sleep now because of work and the sale is starting.

I wonder if Capcom will put REmake HD at a significant discount. It's been a while since release now. Haven't bought the remaster yet because I still own the GameCube original.

Also hope DQ Heroes goes on sale but it might be too soon for that one.

thats more or less true, but there's no harm in getting a few backlog titles, just not too many. the next BIG sale might not roll around till spring/summer?

I bought 10 games during the summer sale and ive played half and haven't finished any.

Give me sales on DkS2 + Season Pass, Soma, Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky SC (Not that i'm more than 10 hours into FC) and let me be blessed with the money to buy them and the Inquisition DLC on sale on Origin.
