I had cancelled a long-standing amazon pre-order for this but now I'm back in. 'Dem gifs. Had to order from another vendor so it won't come right away, but it's not like I don't have a shameful pile of unplayed games staring me down.

Prime members on Amazon will always get shipped out first. Free release date delivery. Doesn't Amazon provide release date delivery for $1 for everyone, or did they stop doing that?

Weird. BestBuy.com doesn't allow for in-store pickup anymore. Yesterday, you could do in-store pickup for pre-orders. It might mean that they're not getting any copies in-store that weren't pre-orders... but they're still taking online orders.

I got half way through the game when my wife took the 3DS with her to china for a month so I couldn't play anymore... She'll be back tomorrow so I guess i'll be playing it with you guys too XD

I think ill side with this even if this might not be as good (well i didn't really enjoy muramasa on wii that much outside of visuals, and all the new content for vita is extra paid dlc >.>).

Gratuitous and pointless sexuality in a video game is a negative for me. I don't have a problem with a little bit of boobage or fanservice, but those gifs are embarrassingly over the top for utterly no reason other than to titillate, to the point of distraction. It's just as ridiculous as the adolescent power fantasy that other games drown in.

I'll make the note that I am very unfamiliar to anime and would find that sort of thing just as unappealing and off-putting in a TV show as a video game.

I'm not afraid of them, and I'm not a prude. I think they're both fine things to put in a video game if there's a reason for it, just like violence. It's when it goes so over the top that the whole thing is immature and wahjah. Like, did you really need to put Cinemax porn in your video game?

EDIT: Now I've had my say, I'll let the thread get back to impressions and talking about whatever else. Unless people want to ask me questions or argue, that's fine too.

That does not bode well for my chances of getting this then (I think this happened with Etrian Odyssey 4 too) :/

This will be available on the NA eshop though right? I'd be ok as long as I get the game.

I don't think it's a question of being "afraid" of such things. I certainly am not. It's more of a question of "is this really necessary" and "why even do this". I'm on the fence about the game and the GIFs aren't exactly pushing me toward the "buy it" category, even though I thought the demo was fine. They aren't exactly keeping me from buying it, but all the same, I think it's important to understand that people might have some objections to these animations and it has nothing to do with being prudish.

But yeah, please, let's get on with discussing the game proper.

Ya know, you could just press B while the special attack is playing & skip it, meaning you don't see the few seconds of animation that pops up if you don't want to see them.

Just wanna point that out.

No problem. I could've sworn from the demo there was an option to skip cinematics for special attacks. Turns out just press B & it goes to the final few seconds of the attack. I just checked & you can do the same for boss attacks as well.

I was thinking of cancelling my pre-order (not due to not liking the demo, just lack of free time) then I saw that Amazon.com no longer has it listed and the closest one is nearly $100.

So yeah....I'm keeping this baby!

A little round up from various retailers (online)

Amazon: Sold the fuck out
Gamestop: Second in the preorder chart, right behind one of the several PS4 launch bundles
Best Buy: Seventh in the preorder chart, there are just next gen consoles and titles before it (and a Skylanders Figure).

Probably both Gamestop and BB's placements are influenced by Amazon not having the game in stock anymore. But it seems good for such a niche title, I hope.

That's crazy shit. Yeah, just priced it at $86.80 as their lowest seller currently. I was expecting this to be somewhat rare in a month, but jeez. This is hardcore-scalping stuff right here.

It's gonna do better in the sense that it won't be over shipped and have massive price slashes in the next few weeks like in Japan, but no way it will sell more.

I haven't seen it happen like that on the Amazon marketplace in a while.

Got excited when I read the amazon posts because I thought I clicked on the Muramasa thread, which meant the orders were no longer delayed. Tsk tsk tsk.

In any case, excited to go pick this up tomorrow. Had some gamestop credit left over so I put 30 down, will pay the other 10 in the morning when I grab it.

Does it have a Club Nintendo code?

This game isnt as hard as strategy games are. This game was made for the new comers in my opinion & for crossing-over characters.

Eight Chapters in now. If I can make any suggestions for you guys going in, Stay in groups. Just because you have pairs of units doesn't mean anything. Though most stages are passable unless Kogoro Tenzai and Mii Kouryuuji are defeated.

animal crossing hasn't left it's case since the day we got it and fire emblem isn't for me.

once I transfer my monster hunter save to my wii-u, i won't need to worry about anything

I went digital for Animal Crossing, and Project X Zone stays in the 3DS, so I can switch between the two with extreme ease.

Plus tons of other games on the 3DS, I'm still playing Animal Crossing, Etrian Odyssey just arrived... I mean, PXZ is gonna have to wait, but Namco will have my coins in a few months!
