Can someone tell me what it says about 1080p/24? My Samsung TV would love to have an option to force this :)

・「BD/DVD設定」の「BD 1080p 24Hz 出力(HDMI)」で「入」が選択可能

It sure looks like you now have the option to force 1080p/24hz output for DVD/BD playback over HDMI, but I haven't seen what the current menu is like so I can't say 100%, sorry.

Something like that will be really nice!

Bladestorm demo will be nice. Of all the Dynasty warriors and crap that one has always been the one most interesting imho.

does that include Heavenly Sword? ;)

I know you have a UK, Mr. Coyles. Therefore, July 26th is Heavenly Sword day.

oh raaally? nice ! I'm more interested in HS than Bladestorm. Infact, i'm not interested in Bladestorm at all right now!

Thanks.

I figured as much that someone would ask. Of course we both know that HS isn't the type of you game were you plow through an army at all times (and there's something in regards to production values as well).

awesome news....hopefully customizable colors with XMB Theme as well, which I really love....just not when its black all the time =/

Custom backgrounds, nice :). I've been doing a few panoramas lately and it would be awesome if that would be supported. So when you go between the different sections it would give you the option of having the viewpoint automatically go to a certain point on the panorama. Would look awesome!

seriously - is it not ? I thought it was a mix of close combat in arenas plus wide open fighting against large armies?

If that's the case, what's happening to those XXXXXX character on screen demos? has that all been dumped? :/

Anybody know what Bladestorm all about?

Seems like a cross between Dynasty Warriors and that Xbox semi rts game.. what's it called... Heroes something..

Well it is mostly adventuring GOW style in that you walk around, fighting smaller groups of enemies. They break that up with sections which include fighting huge armies, bosses, character switches (Narikos sister), arcade sections with cannons and such but mostly it seems to be 'adventuring'.

According to some previews from E3, the large scale battles are definitely in the game.

I like the dynamic-ness of the wave though. The fact that it changes throughout the year at the same time for everyone.

But this would look pretty sweet I think. Although, how tf would you see the XMB icons over light wallpapers?

And finding the right resolution for the image is going to be a pain in the god damn ass... anyone got any tips on that?

So im guessing in game music (via the options when pressing the PS button) and in game XMB will be in the fabled 2.0 update? Btw, Im loving the fact that they work so hard to bring all these features to us. Dvd and ps2 upscaling has been great so far.

I wonder if they have something special for fw 2.0? This sounds like a nice update btw. Still need more games and FAST! My PS3 can't take sitting around anymore!

2.0 is a nice rounded number, I'm sure it'll be a big firmware update.

Phil Harrison has mentioned that the Home trophy system will go live for the next revision which happens in August. He seems to speak about Home itself though but what is interesting imo is that the Darkness team (Starbreeze) are waiting with their game patch until the August PS3 firmware has been released. Could be interesting..

The ability to eject discs using the controller is a god send. No more touching my PS3 and getting fingerprints smeared all over it.

Human translated:

* Can change order of games stored on HDD.
* Eject option in disc menu.
* Can tag folders by type through the icon change menu.
* Can select "input" in BD/DVD settings "BD 1080p 24hz output (HDMI)"
* Can select "44.1/88.2/176.4khz" in "Audio CD output quality"
* Can select "Type 2" in Music options "Bit Mapping"
* "Image Quality" control panel changed to "Video and Sound Settings"
* Enabled playback of AVCHD from memory stick and DV camera HDD.
* Enabled "Slow Rewind" and "Frame Rewind" for pressed and HDD media.
* Enabled change of output settings during PS and PS2 soft play.
* Added "Bookmark link target" to browser File menu.
* Added "Browser security" to browser Tools menu.
* Avatars in AV chat now respond to sound with motion.

(HDMI or optical cabling, and a compatible receiver, is required for audio CD upsampling feature)

Also, the PSP will receive an upgrade to playback of PSN titles in FW 3.52.

Edit: Additionally, although not mentioned in patch notes, the wallpaper option is definitely a wallpaper option, and Japanese input in the browser will be upgraded to allow inline, rather than popup-window, conversion---thus making it actually usable for typing Japanese text.

He said early next week and it is early 'next week' (this week)

It is monday

Yes, I am aware of that and that's why I posted it.

Also, did the PS3 just beat the 360 of adding the option to eject the disc without actually pressing the eject button on the console? :lol

"Eject option in disc menu."

Awwww yeaaahh. Now you don't need to touch the buttons at all. You can already turn off the PS3 via control, niccccce.

And did you know this cool function: the PS3 powers up when you slide a disc into the tray.

Awesomeness prevails.
