PS5 Sales Are Outpacing PS4 in the US, Xbox Series X and S Lags Well Behind Xbox One

According to the most recent data from Circana, after each platform’s first 52 months in the market, PS5 unit sales exceed PS4’s sales pace by 7%, while Xbox Series X and S combined now trails Xbox One by 19%.

As positive as the picture is for Sony’s console effort in the U.S., especially as it comes without a PS5 price cut, it's yet more depressing news for Microsoft. The Xbox Series consoles have for some time struggled for sales globally, and Microsoft has admitted it lost the so-called console war a long time ago in the face of competition from PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

I'm not gonna just LIE here and tell you 50/50 but I will say that MH Wilds just came out. To be clear, I don't know what it said because I didn't read it.
It's a big possibility that allot of the new adopter of Ps5, they bought the ps5 pro version.

Imagine being at Xbox and seeing, week after week, numbers plummet, subscribers churn, and your studios deliver flops every time. the moral has to be pretty low, unless the delusion runs pretty deep (which I think is the case)
According to fanboy logic, this is exactly what MS wants. Everything going according to plan. Xbox has never been healthier.

PS5 will easily pass PS4 sales WW. It's an open runway with Xbox soft leaving the console space and GTA 6 releasing soon. I also think the PS5 will be sold alongside the PS6, beyond 2030, as a cheaper alternative, during a very long cross-gen period

Yeah, I fully expect the PS6 to launch at cost or for profit. Meaning we could easily see a 600 or even 700 dollar price point for the PS6.

The PS5 is going to have a pretty long tail and I expect that we'll see pricing as low as 300 dollars for one (digital) and maybe if Sony is aggressive as low as 250 if we see a redesigned PS5 Super Slim.

They’ve had the money since 2001.

It’s the same story every generation, failure.
Yeah it the only reason they're still in business. But keeping their prices this high because Nintendo and PlayStation do is dumb. Then again, this is the company that released their Pro console in the beginning of the generation so...
