I accidentally did straight to Gen-B from M33-6 and it fucked up my system.
Oh, and if you're really feeling unsure, make a magic mem stick and pandora first as they'll fix it up in case you screw up.

I don't have any experience in flashing custom themes or converting themes for 5.50 but I've found this site that has a plethora of GEN-compatible themes if you're interested.Mejilan said:You know, it's been a few years since I fucked around with CXMB and/or flashing custom themes directly to the PSP. I'm feeling a bit adventurous, and I can only imagine that themes have become more robust than they used to be.
I wonder if support for 5.50 Gen exists. I see an unofficial version of CXMB already out for 5.50 Gen, but I can't really determine if porting 5.00 themes to 5.50 is easy or not. Time to do some reading, I think.

i've tried that already. But it doesn't work so well. the color, sound [no sound], and speed were off.red shoe paul said:I hear PSPTube is an FLV player.

Neverender said:So can anyone tell me some apps that I should have? All I have so far is emulators, and I only have a small memory stick and a few older psp games that I have no interest in playing.
Yes, I've set mine at ALWAYS for a long time now and I haven't run into any issues. There is not risk involved, it just speeds up the loading times.mackaveli said:hey, you know i m33-6 theres an option in the recovery menu about speeding up memory stick speed or something. It's a new feature in m33-6. Right now mine is set to never, should i enable this? i don't want to touch any options without knowing what they do. Thanks.

As I said, I never had any problems with my Sony MSs. Guess it's MS dependant then. Either way you can't possibly brick or damage your PSP by enabling this feature, thus it's safe to tinker around with the option and see what's best for you.kittel said:After ripping JP DISSIDIA to an ISO it wouldn't go past the menu screen so I assumed there was something wrong with the ISO. I couldn't wait so I played most of the game on UMD until I realized that the solution was to disable this speed-up. In short, this depends on the memory stick involved. FYI, I'm currently using a SanDisk adapter with a 2gb M2 card.

Jugendstil said:Is there a straight forward way to create an eboot of a PSX iso file on a Mac? I'm not having any luck with the OS X version of Popstation, I can't even get it to run because I'm a total noob when it comes to anything involving the terminal.
Varth said:Don't know if that matters, but my review UMD doesn't work with 5.50 GENB, even with 5.55 spoofing and various drivers. Had to dl an iso to test it, since I needed to capture screens of it as well -____-
Funny thing, it freezes if I try to capture movies or "board" screens.

Did i read it correctly? 5.55 spoofing?
I can finally play my copy of tales of vs? (still means ditching m33 though =()

Thanks to tipster Kindjal, we were made aware that Team MX has released their Beta 5.55 CFW. And they sure do have quite a list of instructions for your perusal, so why don't you get going.
Instructions and application within the. Rar:
PSP Homebrew - Image 1Due to the large number of mails received from you and the little time we have available to answer only say:
1. Not see System Information prayer "5.55CF TMX-1" as only a beta, it will be seen in the final version.
2. You can download any of the 3 links, that was just in case one failed.
3. Before publishing the beta, it was sent to several PSP users with positive results in 65 of the time.
4. It is advisable to just install on a CF M33.
5. They can only return to the previous version if you made the backup of flash0 recommended in the readme.
6. Do not ask questions like "what a PSP can use such plate as we ???", we only tested on a PSP 1000 and the other users who tested the beta before anyone else obtained positive and negative results regardless of the model plate or PSP.
7. It is noteworthy that this is our first work for the PSP and the errors tend to spend so please do not judge a bad way bugs that come out of this beta.
8. The beta was released for yourselves what they liked and did not wait for us to have something better.
9. All you have to do is install the files in the flash0 and try any game that requires 5.55 and comment in the mail that had problems after that, remember that doing this will be part of Team MX and are also believed to contribute their grain of sand.
10. We will rely on the information they send to finish the CF.
11. MX Support Team to get the new PSP and continue to develop the firmware 5.55 by clicking on the AdSense blog.

Keep in mind, there's no way to do multi-disc eboots with this old programme. Hopefully someone else steps up to the plate soon.

chandoog said:So apparently if what i'm reading is true, soul caliber patches have been released that enable the game to work on 5.00 m33 now .. whelp, the homebrew community sure doesn't let up.
black_vegeta said:It only works as an ISO file for 5.00 M33, it's won't with a retail UMD copy though.

Mejilan said:Brilliant. I'll look into this tonight. I have NO problems whatsoever patching my ISOs!
Hopefully they'll be able to apply this progress to other games. I don't care about GI Joe, but it'd be nice to be able to patch Persona when it hits in a few weeks.
MoxManiac said:Dissida works fine as a retail UMD on 5.00 m33. It's what i'm using.
xero273 said:The method that is being used so far only applies to SC because there was a leaked ISO that had a decrypted boot.bin. According to a retired M33 developer on maxconsole, this could have been an image from a debug build of the game. So if we need games like Persona to work, we need a leaked iso that has decrypted boot.bin
