A quick Google suggests there's a patch that works on M33 ISOs, assuming you've ripped your UMD already? I just searched for "metal slug xx CFW".

This program package enables the use of a Playstation Portable as an additional monitor in Windows. You can also remotely send keyboard and mouse commands to the PC. The newest version implements sound streaming, too.
PSPdisp is compromised of four components, on Windows a display driver, an usb driver and the interface application which captures the screen, compresses it and sends it over USB or WLAN to the PSP. On the PSP side there is an application that decompresses the frames and displays them.

Minamu said:I don't think the demo worked so I wouldn't count on it. I'm not entirely sure how to get it running on the GEN stuff either :lol Wouldn't mind some clarification on that. What's stopping you from upgrading to GEN though?
That sounds GREAT to meUnknown Soldier said:The JPN version of P3P works fine on any 5.xx CFW, it's already been tested out by people on the various CFW sites.
To pre-empt the next question, Valkyria Chronicles 2 (JPN) also works fine without need of any patching or hacking.
We can expect both to work fine with CFW when they are released worldwide. I for one intend to rip my UMDs of those games and put them on the Memory Stick because I know for certain P3P will be an 80+ hour playthrough and I am *NOT* going to accept playing with *grind* *grind* LOADING *grind* *grind* BATTERY LOW for those 80+ hours.

SonOfABeep said:has anyone had a problem with savegames corrupting between CFW updates? My 10 hours of FFT have been lost since I went to the GEN firmware..I've read that this is part of the sony attempts at discouraging custom firmware use? Anyone know any ways to fix it?
I saw something about some plugins that can fix the corruption but I can NEVER get plugins to work. I add the 3 files to seplugins, add the text strings, and they never show up. I don't understand what I do wrong. I've tried some plugins in the past but it's always been a frustrating experience that goes nowhere.
Maybe I should just get another newer PSP for official stuff and keep the 1001 for CFW.
The coder Torky has today released a plugin which enables it to you, the games to date, only one original firmware as of 6:20 were run, to play on a custom firmware. The plugin is yet in its infancy and therefore must be tested.
But according to various posts here prove Forum, it was confirmed that this plugin works with many new games. According to the developer, plugin also works well on the still ever-popular Firmware 5.00 M33-6, Custom Firmware Dark_Alex Creator

Long a go I had cfw for emulator games and such, but as I understand the newer OFW doesn't let you add cfw as easely as before.
I've heard conflicting stories about how decrypted iso crashes after the coconut part in the tutorial (?) while some say it works fine. Downgrading to D2 seem to solve that problem but I dunno manTheSeks said:Does Peace Walker run?
My $50 going to PSN for the DD version hinges on this plug-in.

So I flashed my PSP with GEN-D3 a few weeks ago and its been great. However, today I was an idiot and dropped by PSP on some concrete. Since then when I turn it on I get the Sony logo, but the XMB won't fully load. It just gives me the background and the buttons don't do anything
Have you tried formatting your flash1?Legendbyname said:Run into a bit of an issue today with my PSP...

I loaded up the recovery menu and tried to load up the PSP/Game/Recovery/EBoot which seemed to work somewhat. I was able to get to the XMB and my buttons worked again. When I try to load a game (from memory stick), it hangs and never loads up.
So I decided to re-flash this thing using Hellcats Recovery flasher. I sucessfully re-flashed GEN-D3 but I still have the same exact problem.
Am I screwed?
I really hope not. I've gotten more use out of this thing in the past 3 weeks than in the past 3 years. CFW is awesome.

If your PSP is Pandora-able, the firmware you're currently running doesn't matter.xKilltheMx said:Quick Question, whats the latest OFW that you can pandora or w.e the process is now to get to a CFW?

Infinite Justice said:Question: when its showing the background is the "loading" icon at the bottom right constantly there?
Have you tried formatting your flash1?
Recovery Menu -> Advanced -> Format flash1 and reset settings
This will reset the PSP back to default settings and stuff.
Then you're good for using Pandora. AFAIK that one is still firmware-independent.xKilltheMx said:PSP 1000 Launch model. Doesnt matter if its at 6. whatever the heck its at nowadays?

MechaX said:Given that most of the tech-savvy PSP users are in this thread, I need some assistance with my PSP.
A month or so ago, I turned on my PSP to dump even more hours in my 90+ hour Dissidia save file and I noted a kind of grayish, 3 centimeter band/line coming from the top and bottom of the screen with some minor discoloration. I was quite perplexed when considering I didn't drop it and it was working fine only days prior. I just chalked it up as a freak accident that might fix itself, and didn't use it for an entire month. Naturally, I tried it out yesterday to play the Peace Walker demo.
And lo and behold, what was once a small gray line is now a massive, fuzzy gray line on the right-hand side of the screen that pretty much blocks anything on that end. The problem got progressively worse yesterday alone, as now there is just a solid gray bar taking up about 1/5th of the entire PSP screen on the right-hand side. Given how I don't have a very good camera to work with, I tried to take some cell-phone pictures of my psp in this stage.
