I have a fairly decent system, compromising of an i7-4770K, 16 GB, GTX 980 Ti SC and Windows 10 Pro. I have been lucky enough to run this game without any major issues for the 5 hours of so I've been playing it on PC up to part way through Act 5. I played the first couple of hours on my Xbox One to the start of Act 2 then continued my save game on PC (which works flawlessly both ways).
I could not tell you want framerate I am getting at 2560x1440 on Ultra settings but I can say that the game feels as smooth as the Xbox One version at worst but usually better for most of the time. Also, I have not noticed the framepacing issues, something I was particularly sensitive to in and which spoilt somewhat) Bloodborne on PS4. I am forcing 16X AF and a 59.7 fps frame limit in the game profile though, using NVIDIA Inspector so may that fixed the framepacing issues?
Whatever, apart for some major slowdown during the start of Act 4, which was caused by PerfectDisk deciding to defrag the game's hard drive while I was watching the 20+ minute Episode 4 between Acts 4 and 5, the game has been running great. Combat feels fluid and fast and I have not experienced any stuttering either (other than the ones of the time variety in the game!).
While I would not go as far as to say this is an excellent conversion, I cannot lie and say the game is running badly for me or that it is unplayable because that simply is not true. The game could be running better, yes, as I understand the AMD cards have a performance advantage over the NVIDIA cards in this game so it's clear that some driver optimisation and game patches are needed to improve things in that area. I have not experienced any crashes either. I am using the v364.91 Vulkan developer driver though. To be honest, I have experienced more issues with the Xbox One version than the PC version; texture pop in for example is much more noticeable on console plus at one point lights could be seen shining THROUGH Jack Joyce's head, something I have not come across on PC. Also, loading times are much quicker on PC, handy if like me you have a tendency to die a lot!
A great game; very cinematic and exciting with a good story, great acting and some fantastic setpieces (Act 4 is by far my favourite). I am actually sad that I am on the last stretch.
