I just noticed the guy doing a bullet-time shootdodge on the right.

I don't know why but I just got really excited. Remedy 'bout to school some developers on third-person action :D

It makes a lot of sense that MS is backing this actually, it's a shooter and it ties in with their TV scheme.

Which animation, exactly? The one where the character lands, or the one where they run forward? If you've played many modern PC titles, you'd see how believable these are. There are even a good number of current-gen console games which, if you centered in on particular animations, have moments on par with these.

I was talking about poly counts of the model, not animations XD

Though, I'm not sure how should a properly tessellated model would look like that.

If that's true, then he's obviously doing a baseless double-talk criticism: "It both looks too good and too bad at the same time." Also, how inane a comment is that when so many games this gen already have model detail fairly close to what we see here?

I'm not criticizing, I was just saying that I wasn't sure whether that was real time or not, and that I couldn't tell just by looking at the screens. If anything that's a compliment for the game :P

Running on devkit is nice, but not at all an indication of what we'll see in-game.
Everything we saw looked like it was straight out of a cut scene.

The bridge part is probably real, but it is pre-computed or animated. You can clearly see this, because in the GIF some of the debris is clipping through the bus, meaning they are no realtime physics at play here.

Wasn't there supposed to be some new info on this game today?

Not on this. Remedy released a video where Sam Lake addressed the fate of Alan Wake 2 and talked about the Alan Wake Humble Bundle while detailing that this is their new project.

Ah, ok. Anyway gameplay wise, hoping for Max Payne 2+Time control powers.

I am not sure about the TV-esque part either but at least they are trying something different so I give them props for that. And it looks nice.

I don't know if its problem with screenshots, but the images look blurry with bad IQ

Alan wake on xbox was blurry as hell too.

As for the game, i like scripted games that make you feel like you are the hero in a movie or tv series, so i will keep an eye on this.

I fear the game will lack identity. But Remedy is a safe bet when it comes to quality, so I guess we shouldn't be worried. The initial impressions are quite hollow though.

Seems like Microsoft wants to battle Sony with Quantum Break vs BEYOND.

You can find uncompressed screenshots on the press site: http://news.xbox.com/media
I am sure they are not realtime, neither is the trailer. Prerendered cutscene and it shows what the engine can do for sure, but it's the same as in Alan Wake if I would have to guess - where the realtime stuff takes a bit of an IQ hit. Should not be as jarring with the new hardwre now :)

I don't see a hit in visuals. What am I meant to be looking for?

The screenshots are just grabs of the trailer. His comment is referring to the console version of Alan Wake, in which the pre-rendered cutscenes have noticeably greater asset quality than the game proper due to the latter running at a lower resolution.

BTW don't get your hopes up for it being a smoke and mirror announcement:

Former Remedy CM on the forums:
I'm honestly so glad this has been finally announced. Let me just say from what I've seen (which honestly was just the original 1 hour long pitch to publishers so as such it's definitely subject to change) it's made me 100% guarantee buy the new console - purely on this game alone!

Like I said though things will change and already the name has slightly changed from what it originally was - so I'm pretty glad I'm on the same boat as all of you here where anything new is generally a surprise for me. It's like back to the old days of finding out about Alan Wake

All I can say though is I'm utterly excited about this game -- want more, more, more!!

I just watched the teaser of this game from the XBO reveal on Tuesday.

What in the fuck? What a mishmash. The live-action segments were horrible; poorly acted, poorly set up, poorly matched to whatever the game is about.

Perfect lesson in how not to debut a new game. Jesus.

I have no doubt there's a better game somewhere in there, but this wasn't a good way to start things off.

In the Major Nelson podcast, Sam Lake somehow announced that there is more info to come on Quantum Break at E3.

"Soon... in the month that rhyhmes with soon." and Major Nelson that i'd be rather a question of days than months.

I suspected it, if not sooner by RMD themselves.

Small detail I noticed - the 'Live TV' section in the Xbone reveal trailer actually features Quantum Break. Actors with the Monarch uniform who are also seen in the screenshots.
