Rainbow Six: Siege |OT| Idris Elba sold separately

I understand the bad precedent this sets but....am still completely OK with it.
It would set a fucking terrible precedent. This is a threat to remove full-fledged vanilla maps from the game. They wouldn't even be available in customs. It's not like removing a holiday quest in an MMO or a special piece of equipment.

The fucking gall at Ubisoft is absurd.

What the fuck happens to the Situations (the tutorials, for Christ's sake) if you remove House or Plane? Are those removed too "for the betterment of new players?" Or will those maps still technically be in the game because

YOUR DATA CAP EXCUSE IS BULLSHIT

That's a great idea, remove almost half of the games maps for ranked. Super!

Bartlett was a poorly designed map, but I still had fun with it.

Also, I find it odd that this game getting the support it has gotten, but no PS4 Pro or XBX 4k patch. Even The Division got one and nobody plays that fucking game.

Rainbow is still one of the top played games out there, which is really impressive for the console versions. Ubi needs to allocate more resources to the dev team. so they can keep their player base steady and happy.

Okay guys seriously, it needs to be asked: what the fuck is going on over at Ubi HQ?

I understand they're on the edge of being taken over by Vivendi so they probably aren't willing to dedicate resources to the R6 team at the moment. BUT WHAT THE FUCK YOU GUYS, you'd think that they'd see a return on that investment with happy customers spending money on the micro-transactions, and more picking up the game having seen positive word of mouth. If they genuinely do want Siege to keep being supported for years to come, they need to fucking act like it.

Removing maps because of space constraints, of all fucking reasons, is just absurd. Like, so absurd that I've literally joked about exactly this happening before.

It's pretty obvious with a publisher like EA that DICE are unrestricted in data size. They're able to create dozens of maps no problem.

This really could be the final straw for a lot of people, THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT

So many actual problems with the game and people are crying about some shit maps getting taken out. I swear some of you just want content for the sake of content, regardless of quality.

Yes, this was a rhetorical question to make a point. It wasn't a literal question with an answer of "one year, seven months, four days, seventeen hours," but that the day is likely coming where they just slightly alter maps we already had instead of producing new content. We already are lucky if we can get all the announced content in any given year, and now this looks to me like an easy excuse for them to ditch future content.

So which maps are they removing entirely for Season 3? None, right? Only for future seasons?

Yacht and Favela are the only maps removed from Ranked?

Yeah, what you're saying is bullshit. I enjoy the maps in this game(some more than others) and it's garbage that they're possibly making some maps completely inaccessible. Also you can be annoyed with this and take issue with other technical problems with this game; it's not an either/or situation.

I know this has been asked in this thread awhile ago but I've read they've changed the sensitivity in one patch. So I'm curious what everyone one is using on PS4. Right now I'm 27h 30V and 45 ADS.

Completely disagree. How do they fix the other problems by removing stuff that people like? I mean, not everyone loves those maps, but a lot of people do, and it's still content that challenges you to play on a map that isn't your comfort zone.

Changes to rotation in season 3:https://rainbow6.ubisoft.com/siege/en-us/news/152-299564-16/changes-to-map-rotations-in-season-3
Thank God no more Bartlet university in ranked.
Wait wow favelas and ship (can't remember name) both gone from casual and ranked. Also some maps are getting reworked, and some will get thrown out forever due to them reaching there data limit size.

WTF!

Im definitely not okay with this. Ranked is all I play and I enjoy maps like Plane and Kanal.

Why would they remove that!? That ranked rotation is going to get repetitive fast.

Ranked=/= Pro league and it shouldn't.

I understand people dislike Bartlet and Favela, and Im not a big Favela fan myself, but that doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed many games there, thanks to competitive players and strategies.

In fact, one of my most memorable games was playing in Plane, and playing against opponents with crazy tactics, like controlling cargo to hold the Meeting Room objective. I absolutely love a number of the maps they are removing. Even if you hate Yacht, Favela, Plane, and House, there are a number of maps missing that aren't any of those 4.

Now, if they can actually make casual worth playing, then that's fine, but they have a lot of work to do. They need to allow map voting and spawn voting, and they need to seriously make team killing much more punished.

I avoid casual because of how shitty the teammates are

"We are quickly approaching the limit of our data sizes, and this will require a rework of how our maps are stored. As a result, we are currently planning on removing maps from the game entirely down the road (not in Season 3)."

What the hell!??

They are going to be removing maps completely? What on earth is this memory issue they are having? That's something Ive never heard for a game before.

You mean operation health did nothing?

Lol

I like playing on both, and I play most of my games on consoles but in Siege I am definitely a lot more confident with my engagements when I play on PC. On consoles I play considerably slower than my friends.
Well I got the just the device for you, it's called a XIM4 and it's specifically approved by a flying horse to help keep your playstyle more consistent and enjoy your dirty peasant console friends!

Anyway... the gutting of the maps. I am firmly against this. I mean, I actually like Yacht. Casino is one of my strongest objectives for both attack and defense. Plane is the shit, and I'm going to miss it in ranked. I love all the jump outs, especially defending bedroom actually of all things where they are guaranteed to park a Glaz on the wing and let you shoot him from like any one of five entrances.

I don't want to play casual. I don't want best of five. I don't want 4 minute rounds. I don't want the lobby filled with potato brained idiots, aside from the ones of my own choosing of course. But I do want to play maps like Plane, Kanal.... the occasional Hereford... House... Yep. I still want to play all that shit.

Not one mention of fixing the crash on the operator select screen or the blue screen of damnation on Xbox though...

This is such an awful decision. The best part about having every map in the rotation and no map voting was that even though you would occasionally play a map you might not like such as Favelas, you would overall still have a ton of variety instead of playing the same 3 maps like every other competitive game devolves into. I don't like the removal of Hereford and Kanal from ranked just to placate pro leaguers and the idea of removing maps entirely is absurd.

It's especially stupid since Yacht is the most balanced map according to their released statistics in the 'data peek' update.

Popping in here to ask a quick question regarding the game and its freeplay weekend. Owned the title physically on Xbox One back at launch but ended up selling it after the holidays. Trying to play it now on the same console after having downloaded it from the store but it keeps asking for the disc? Googled around and don't see anyone else with this issue so I figured it was worth a shot to inquire here.

This is beyond stupid. Do you speak for everyone or something? One mans bad map is anothers favorite. I hate house with a passion and a lot of people love it. I am not going to celebrate if they removed it from the game, we are losing content when the game desperately needs more content.

Gonna reward Ubi for this decision by buying all the Elite skins and cracking some fresh XP boosters tonight, it's the least they deserve!

Please, make #alphapacks purchaseable with real money! 💰

"Most people" want the removal of content?
Sure thing, Ubi-plant.
Absolutely. If they could just go ahead and permanently remove University, Yacht, Favela, Blackbeard, Ash and everyone with 100+ ping that'd be swell. Praise Ubi.

I'm not sure I've ever actually posted anything positive in this thread. The game is fucking broken.

How would you have coped with Team Fortress Classic back in the day?

Even with the faults the game is fun to play. That's the most important thing. Do you know what you get for being a shit hot, competitive platinum Pro League player?

A rosette that says:

"Achieved Something Pointless Nobody Cared About"

As long as you're enjoy it go ahead, but don't dick on content enjoyed by the millions of regular or casual players.

Back to Paris with you, Ubi-spy!

Must've missed the memo that we were supposed to play through Team Fortress Classic to enjoy Rainbow 6.

But it's cool to call anyone who's not bothered an "ubi-stooge" or to say "fuck anyone white-knighting" ? You're only being a dick if you don't agree with us.

Let's settle this like men. 1v1 on house knives only.

What a load of shit. What stops them from reworking the map WHILE IT'S STILL IN ROTATION? AT LEAST ON CASUAL.

FUCK YOU UBISOFT, FUCK YOU LAZY PIECES OF SHIT.

I am just glad I went for the 15 dolla edition back in the day and haven't given a single dime more to them. I considered it, but with Operation Health and other antics, no, fuck them.

See I'm actually alright with a limited ranked rotations, provided there's a new rotation in the next season (which isn't happening). A lot of games do this but they also do shorter rotation (like 1-2 weeks). ESL is the super competitive league where a map will get removed from the list of it has even a slight bit of problem because of the nature of the league...a bit of unbalanced-ness is alright considering Ranked is not ESL.

Now let's talk about their decision to remove the maps from casual. With the new map the game will have 17 maps in total, they say they are reducing the map count to 15 to make it easier for the new player to learn the maps and that some of the removed maps will get reworked (when you say some while talking about a pool of 2, it just means one) . Now the issue with this reasoning is:

1) 17 isn't that much more than 15.
2) By not playing the maps that are removed they will never learn them in the first place.
3) They can rework the maps while they are still online.
4) If matchmaking preferences actually worked you wouldn't have new players getting lost as they could limit the map pool and game modes on their own.

The real reason is that they are hitting the data size limit and this is why they want to reduce the memory footprints of all the maps so that they can fit future content without removing too much but eventually they'll hit that limit again and will remove something else.

What I don't understand is, why does it matter what size the game is especially right now? It's not that much compared to other games and it doesn't really matter if the game becomes 50GB big in size after 2 years of content update. Anyone new to the game will have to suck it up and download all of it at once but after that it doesn't really matter. As for existing players who play regularly, it matters even less.

At this point they should remove operators from casual play who are clearly not viable for pro league, so that new players are not mistaken that they might actually succeed with them down the bottom line. :D

So I loved Rainbow 6 Ravenshield back in the day so thought it's time to jump back in seeing it's on sale. Which version should I get?

15.99 standard edition.
