No games pushing the medium forward. Nothing graphically impressive going on 3 years into the gen. Even the current gen only games look like last gen games.

These events are always bad but there's usually at least 2-3 games that peak my interest, even if it's just smaller indie titles.
This time there was literally nothing, only some of the already announced stuff (Callisto and Lies of P) looked decent.

Dune looking a 3rd person AAA action game and being revealed as a survival MMO is an all time high hype whiplash. never experienced anything like that.
Monkey island looks dire. the writing and VO was not funny or good, and the art style is bleak. no hope.

Lies of P looked cool. homeworld 3 I am in on. shipbreaker ps5 with the story mode i'm in day 1. Atlas fallen is on my radar.

I wasn't planning to watch it, but I needed something on in the background while grinding in a RPG. Easily the worst gaming show I've ever seen. Even the three games out of all they showed that excited me couldn't wash away the filth that was the rest of the show. I have to say it once again, we need someone else other than Geoff to make a live gaming show. Cause anyone else would've done a better job with what they had to show then he did tonight. Awful, purely awful.

The only showcase that stood out for me was Dune, I enjoyed Dune 2000 and I want to get into that world again, so I have been waiting for the right opportunity, since the rest of the showcase was mostly CG trailers I can't rate it more than 4.

Waste of time. Gamescom has never been the place for important announcements, but even so, this one was bad. This format of a 2 hour overdose of trailers or "world premieres" by Keighley is becoming really tiresome. I usually start watching 1 hour after it starts so I can just fast forward and save my time.

Outside of that one, every single other one for the PS4 gen was a home run and all their PS5 showcases have been good-great.
