Outside of that one, every single other one for the PS4 gen was a home run and all their PS5 showcases have been good-great.

No it wasn't, Sony had a few crap conferences at E3 and Gamescom last gen. Microsoft ended up gaining the reputation for being the one to only show games back to back. They switched places from post-kinect.

This is what happens when you try to do a show at all costs but without the contents to back it up.

Nothing was worth the show but I'm happy that Monkey Island is releasing soon, I liked the new Harry Potter trailer, Lies of P seems an intriguing Bloodborne copy and the Dualsense Edge announcement was cool.

That Kojima podcast stuff was truly a cringe moment.

5/10?

No big announcements and the big reveal for the end got leaked by Amazon (lol)

Good show, but 2 hours is too much

Even when Microsoft show games back to back, they don't tend to come close to a Sony conference. I was strictly talking about E3 last gen and outside of 2018, every other one wiped the floor with every other conference in the same year IMO. I haven't seen Microsoft put on a great show yet - they've been okay to good. We are still sitting around waiting for the games.

Lies of P, Calisto and that sand magic game i forgot the name were the top 3 games for me. Although that Calisto gameplay made me a little worried, that stasis power looked op.

Many outlets disagree with that, but if you enjoyed some of those cringe E3's and Gamescoms more power to you, but they were quite bad. I will say E3 2018 was probably the worst of them though, at least for last gen.

5/10

I only watched the trailers after the whole thing.

I'm an easy bitch to hype and i'm not gonna lie, this thing get a 7 just for that lies of P\dead island 2 combo trailer...

callisto and some other thing are just the icing.

Did someone has a list of all the trailers? i think i missed something...

A pretty shit "main show showcase" , 3/10
Callisto looked good. Lies of P looked good but not my cup of tea. A podcast and a car , fuck right off

Majority of it was made up of stuff we already knew about, or it leaked. The "new" announcements were AA or indie games that looked.... eh. I wasn't expecting much, still disappointed, lol.

Rated it a 5. It wasnt good but not bad. We have had way worse conferences over the years imo so a bit surprised by the ratings so far.

To me Dead Island looked good, and more importantly looked fun. That Bloodborne style game looked fantastic. Callisto looked ok. Killer Klowns was a nostalgic surprise.
Like i said i have seen worse shows.

There is nothing that in the world, that get's "high rated" by fans, but is in reality between underwhelming and bad, like Sony games shows.

Yeah - all those highly reviewed games that sell millions. What bastards. All of those gameplay trailers and demos. Utter pricks. All those games that actually come out. Swines.

This is NeoGAF so obviously the majority hated it.

Voted to see where the votes were.

Yup 1 out of 10 sounds about right.
I honestly wonder why people are on a gaming forum when they seemingly hate everything about gaming.

Might be time to find a new hobby.....this one has left you behind.

Pretty much the only gaming shows worth watching are the Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo ones, since they get the bigger third party publishers and don't need ads.

Didn't watch the show but the explosion of trailers for single player third person action adventure games is right up my alley.

-The Lies of P
-Callisto Protocol
-Hogwarts Legacy
-Where Winds Meet
-Phantom Hellcat
-Under the Waves
-Telltale's The Expanse
-Atlas Fallen

Appalling.

This industry is fucking lame. I honestly have no idea how companies can be so out of touch. It must be run by MBA bellends.

That said, Lords of the Fallen gets a clap for using Danzig. Good lads.

Whilst watching and Geoff was going through that scripted nonsense with half hearted applause from the audience, I was thinking maybe the poor fella didn't get much from publishers and can only show what they give him when all said and done.

Then the Kojima podcast thing and I just thought ....well put it this way, I wish Geoff would stop cock coptering over Hideo in a lot of shows, it's getting tiresome. We get it, you like him, you are friends.

Sony once "won" E3 with a Kickstarter, a game that's still not out yet, and a game that ended up being completely forgotten by most people I never understood the hype for most Sony conferences because that gen was all hype for games that were years away, or a bunch of multiplatform games that Sony just had marketing for. Uncharted 4's trailer was the only moment where I thought Sony's conference was anything special. That was the gen that made me realize that video game "journalists" opinions on games are completely different than mine and it's not worth caring about them, because they just hype up mediocre games

I gave it an 8 because I thought it was going to be muuuuuch worse than what it was. Lord of P, killer clowns, dead Island 2, sonic frontiers, not to bad. Others I'm forgetting but that's already leagues better than what I thought it would be. Was expecting sonic, Gotham knights, calisto protocol (beyond hyped for this btw) and then a bunch of indies I wouldn't care about. Beyond the cringey awards and kojima literally talking about a podcast I think this was one of the best gamecoms ever.

Then again I haven't watched to many gamescom. Last one I remember is where they had someone who never played video games demo crackdown 3. Either way much better than expected.

there honestly wasn't anything i wanted and im really not super picky when it comes to Geoffs shows. I feel like I dont even know what a lot of games look like because there was so much CGI.

I'd rather they have thrown in some more indie stuff, rather than these big aaa-aa third party games. Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony and the big guys like Capcom, EA, S-E, Ubi, etc. not being there really shows.

For the love of God…stop with the fucking filler and make it an hour. Don't care about car announcements, or a random controller that didn't explain anything, or for fucks sake, 4 awards, that btw, typically come later on in the week. What a waste of Fn time again. That's 4 years, I'm not falling for it a fifth 🤦‍♂️

Give the show something between a 3 and 4.
Some interesting games were present, but most of the games shown were crap.

It's funny I watched the hour-long trailer only (no fluff) video montage uploaded by CNET and I was still disappointed. Ended up skipping through large chunks of it (especially the pointless CGI bullshit that tells us zero about a game). Can't imagine anyone sitting through the extra hour-ish of filler bullshit.

It's a 7/10 considering industry standards now... You guys are longing for an age that is long gone, this is what we get nowadays.

Would have been a 8/10 with some Andrew WK 🤣
