Paper Mario 64 - 10 (best)
PM: TTYD - 10
Super Paper Mario - 7
Sticker Star - 7.5
Color Splash - 8.5
Origami King - 7 (least good)

Something like that. Scores might be off but the ranking is accurate. Need to play SPM Wii again and would probably appreciate it more now.

I think the ones that people rave about are wildly overrated. (OG and TTYD)

CS gets trashed but I've had a good time with it in the few hours I've put in. The music and art style are fantastic. Battle system is dumb but isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Haven't played the others.

I'm not going to write a full ranking, but I will stand by Sticker Star. It's a great little game, even if it is a different type of experience and perhaps genre from the other entries. For me, the much more disappointing one was Super Paper Mario. It felt incredibly sluggish to explore, with so many boring areas and designs, truly mind-numbing, particularly the hub world. Frankly, there is more creativity in Sticker Star.

I only played the one for N64 back when it came out. I remember it being really good and was surprisingly very funny.
It seemed like that first one had a great foundation.
How did Nintendo screw it up so bad?

Paper Mario: 8/10 (great start and really enjoyable)
Paper Mario TTYD: 9/10 (it doesn't bring a lot but it makes everything better)
Super Paper Mario: 7/10 (not as good but quite enjoyable)

I hope we see a new entry in the license one day.

Solid 8-8.5s, the lot of them.

The hate Sticker Star got was a new level of embarrassing. That one guy on GAF trying to rationalize his 1/10 score for SS was universes more cringey than the people arguing that 30fps>60fps.

Color Splash is a ridiculously fun, well-written game. Definitely belongs with the WiiU greats.

It all started with Super Paper Mario for the Wii. Nintendo got very lazy there. The turn based RPG fights were removed, the NPCs became vapid stick figures with nothing much to say or do they were just there, the exploration and world was lifeless. And with Paper Mario: The Origami King the battle system becomes a bit of a chore and wearisome; something you'll avoid halfway through the game. They took out RPG elements essentially. Your have one good partner in TOK and the second one is good too, but only in story tbh

Nintendo and Intelligent systems need to free the Paper Mario series. It's been attsched to their recent philosophy of "make it overbearingly simple for the younger kids" who are playing for a while now. I think they're making a huge mistake by watering down these games

N64 Paper Mario, the original and the best. 10/10
Gamecube Paper Mario was an ok retread of sorts that didn't have the same charm for me.
Don't care for the rest of them.

The only one I've played is Color Splash. Currently playing it with my son. It's mildly entertaining

To be honest I've only played paper Mario, TTYD (which was amazing btw), the origami king and M&L: paper jam (which was ok), soooo:

PM = 8
TTYD = 9.5
M&L: PJ = 7
TOK = 7.5

TTYD 9/10
PAPER MARIO 9/10
SUPER PAPER MARIO 7/10
COLOR SPLASH 7/10
PAPER JAM 6/10

I haven't played sticker star or Origami King, although OK is in my backlog so I will play it at some point. Was pretty 'meh' on M&L Paper Jam. I think I just played too many Mario & Luigis so average entries in that series really wear me down. DGrayson got it right with Color Splash, it's mildly entertaining with some clever fun bits and some charm but it doesn't add up to a truly great game the way older Paper Marios do. I think it's better than people say but I also never want to go back to it, so it can't be that much better. The writing was funny and I enjoyed the ridiculous summons you can do using giant household objects - the game managed to win me over, but the core gameplay just isn't as good as the paper mario greats.

Only one I ever played was Super Paper Mario on the Wii and I thought it was a lot of fun. Can't compare to the rest of the series, but I enjoyed it on the Wii.
