Ready for a Smash Bros. Brawl tournament with items -- the way lord Sakurai intended?
Thanks to plenty of interest, I'm scheduling a items-enabled Brawl online tournament. It will take place between March 24th and March 31st, just after Firestorm's "No Items" tournament.
This tournament is designed to favor the well-rounded Brawl player. While the majority of the tournament will consist of four player stock matches with items, be prepared for the occasional variation (1 on 1 w/ items, stock, timed, timed stock, or even a "No Item" match). Stages will be assigned, so be prepared to do just as well on Hyrule Temple as you do on Final Destination, as you won't know where you might be asked to battle.
I'll be drawing up the tournament entry list (and schedule battles/etc.) on Easter Sunday (3/23). If you wish to enter this double elimination tournament, please...

Yes, I need your Friend Code -and- the 5 Character name you use for online Brawl matches. This will be used to help other contestants locate you when playing matches. Please format your subject line as indicated or you may be accidently left out of the tournament!

If anyone wishes to donate a prize, feel free. I'm looking into getting something for the victor. I have a specific idea in mind, but I'm checking into the possibilities.

Update (3/22)
Another update....
1) Sign ups end at 11:59 P.M PST, on Easter - March 23rd. (You can keep track of the time via the Naval time server)
2) I will be trying to conduct some trial runs of Brawl online battles for the tournament either Sunday or Monday evenings. If you are available LATE Sunday evening or early Monday morning, PM me and we can test some stuff.
3) The current plan is to conduct Tournament battles between 7PM and 10PM PST. I would list the battle matchups, along with friend codes. Everyone would be responsible for adding their opponent's friend codes before battle time. At the specified time for your battle, you would log on to Nintendo WFC and join a group battle being set up by the specified group leader. Given the nature of WFC battle setup, the plan is to require everyone to join at a specific time (down to the second), via the naval observatory time server. If the leader starts a group at 7:00 PM PST and all 3 of the remaining players join his group in the next minute, the battle SHOULD go through without a problem.
4) As settings are seemingly pulled at random from the group, everyone would have to change their game settings to the ones I establish for that round of the tournament.
5) After the battle concludes, the leader will PM the results of the battle to me, and I'll update the thread. If there is any problem/mistake, the other players should notify me immediately. Whenever possible, replays should be saved and submitted to us for the enjoyment of the group.
If possible, I hope to have 2-3 rounds of tournament play each night. We currently have about 50 folks in the tournament, and we COULD complete it within 7-8 rounds (unless I forgot something).
